  • Cute set of cards and really innovative when it peaked a few years ago! I followed the creator when they were just putting this project together. Loved their merch as well. The cards are a great way to spend time w a loved one

  • I love the brand mindset and the note that they gave. I've bought the cards and have a really good game.

  • I have one of their card games, which I love. They can be played in a group or just one on one w the omission of some cards. I love to play it w my partner as some of the questions can make you vulnerable in ways you wouldn't otherwise.

  • Love, love, loooove! Best game for hanging out with new people to get into more interesting topics faster. I love to bring this to Tailgates or Barbeques lol

I'd love this as an app where you can easily add on the other packages (couples edition etc)

  • I've played WNRS multiple times. I've played it with a group of girlfriends, once with my boyfriend, and once with my best friend. The game was very enriching and insightful each time I played--highly recommend to anyone who is not only looking to deepen their relationships, but to get to know more about how others view them as well!

In my opinion, the original set without extension packs is best for playing with family and friends. During my game with my boyfriend, I felt that the game needed a different set of cards with a different vibe.

  • Such a fun game that leads to great, meaningful conversations and connections. Can be used over and over again with different groups of people.

    A little pricey

  • This game has three tiers -- one level to talk about perceptions, one level that really allows one's vulnerable side to shine, and another level that helps people reflect on the whole experience. I would say that the level that gets the most use is level two. This is really ideal for more face to face interactions, not all questions are compatible for someone you interact with mostly over Zoom. I would say a good comparable deck if you want the latter seems to be Esther Perel's deck, which has more questions of the level 2 nature.

  • I really like the questions - they're unique and really make you think if you allow yourself to dive into them. It's a great way to get to know yourself and others depending on the exact game you play. Love products like this that bring people together

  • The sweetest game for working with people! If you take out the 2nd and 3rd decks, you can play with kids. I play it at camp with my campers and they are obsessed with it. So much fun! Mature groups play so well.

  • I have followed the creator for a bit before she released the game, and I love to see how this has taken off in the world. I have played this with lifelong friends and can still come up with conversation that we may not always be in tuned to bring up otherwise.

  • LOVEEEEEEE their games and their merch and their IG posts. This company has helped me through a breakup and got me closer to my college friends. I am forever grateful <3 So many late nights at the library were spent playing this game in between semi-productive study sessions.

  • definitely has replayable value since answers can change over time. i think it's a good way to get to know people that you just met but also get to a deeper level with friends that you've had for a while. be prepared for some tough conversations!

  • I love this thing so much for creating community at dinner parties, picnics, wherever. I usually don't follow the formal rules and use them more as conversation cards, and it's fun to see what emerges. Also, their IG account is just so well maintained.

  • I have a few of their games and some sweatshirts, and they are all great quality and thoughtful. Great with dates and friends! My favorite part of the brand is their daily email - short, introspective, and funny! 10/10 recommend :)

  • One of my favorite games to play with friends and new connections. I think it's a really great ice-breaker if you're just curious about the others :)

  • A great getting to know you card game. Re-playability is decent but limited, as is the case with any card game in this genre. Their continuation packs are great additions to the series. Would recommend.

  • This game was so much fun, and I felt like it got me to open up, and it’s so intentional! I always leave feeling more closer to the people I play with.

  • I absolutely loved this game. I picked it up from my local Target and was immediately drawn to how many different versions there were—you can play it with family, friends, your partner, and I believe there's even a kid-friendly version now. I played this with my little sister and niece, who were 14 at the time, and I have to say—it was such a powerful experience. Not only did I get to know them on a deeper level, but we also had the opportunity to really connect and open up. It’s rare to find a game that creates space for meaningful conversations like that. We’re Not Really Strangers is such an innovative concept. It helps you feel closer to the people you already know by encouraging real questions and vulnerability—questions you might not think to ask in everyday life. There’s something really beautiful about that. It kind of gives you permission to go deeper. Honestly, I have no cons about this game. I love it, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to build connection in a fun, intentional way.
