We’re Not Really Strangers earns strong reviews for catalyzing meaningful, vulnerable conversations that deepen relationships across friends, partners, and family, proving the brand’s core game concept works. Reviewers praise the thoughtful prompts, elegant red-and-white design, and versatile editions (Couples, Self-Reflection, Family), while noting downsides like limited replay with the same group, discomfort with the wrong audience, occasional “cringe” or mismatched prompts, and inconsistent merch/build quality.

  • I have had this game for 6 or so years now. I've played it with close friends when I was in high school as just a fun time filler. I've also played it in college with new people I met when I lived in the dorms my freshman year. You have to go into the game with an open and know it may be uncomfortable but you will make meaningful friendship and get to know people on a deeper level. When I was first living in the dorms, I was getting to know some of the people on my floor and I remember pulling this game out and making it more of a lighthearted game to get to know people. After 4 years, I am still good friends with the people I played this game with in the dorms. I have leant this game to many people over the years after playing it with them. I know they have said that it is an awesome date idea!

  • "We're Not Really Strangers" is a game-changer for anyone seeking deeper connections. This card game brilliantly facilitates meaningful conversations, whether you're exploring your own thoughts, healing, or strengthening bonds with others. The simple, striking red-and-white aesthetic is not just visually appealing but also perfectly complements the game's straightforward yet profound purpose. It's a great tool for fostering introspection and genuine connection.

  • I have so many of the we’re not really strangers decks. I think they’re great journal prompts for yourself and good for self reflection, but I also love them as a tool to connect with your friends.

  • She’s a classic! WNRS introduces herself before you enter the space. The intentionality behind this product is in and of itself a bright light, and that shows in the design. -1 point for what feels like cheap manufacturing (*which is presumably so much easier written about than achieved). The sweatshirts I ordered from them a few years ago were a lovely idea, although the quality is rough.
