Ouai impresses in reviews for effective detox shampoo, weightless-yet-smoothing hair oil, and evocative scents like St. Barts and Melrose Place, confirming the brand works for deep cleansing and soft, shiny results. However, multiple reviews flag overpowering fragrance, residue or dryness with continued use, hit-or-miss styling (especially Wave Spray), and packaging issues with thick conditioners—making performance and scent tolerance highly hair-type dependent.

Mid! The hair oil is a finishing oil, so purely for shine and not nourishment. The masks are similarly superficial, and I didn't find their shampoo impressive. With that said, the smells are lovely, and I imagine (though have not tried) the candles to be similarly lovely-smelling. The packaging is nice, but no longer novel - lots of brands are offering minimal design haircare, but with effective ingredients too. Their styling pomade is just okay - I'll use it up eventually, but it hasn't changed my life/hair.
Body wash does not work and all hair products have damaged my hair beyond repair
Love the clarifying shampoo, got it as rewards gift from Sephora and was really impressed. Everything by this company smells amazing. I want to try their perfume and body products next.

They're worth the expense, especially the body wash, it smell so good and help my skin stay hydrated.
Ouai is a staple. I have tried almost everything from this brand and have not a bad thing to say. Love the hair products (curl cream, hair mask). The body products smell great (melrose soap and shibuya body butter are my favorite) plus I even have the hand soap for my kitchen and sink. I love the packaging and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite brands.
I have never in my life smelled a product that smelled this good! Their salt scrub (body and scalp) is divine! I literally spent half the time showering just huffing the scent. I wish these were "clean" products, but they make using them a literally heavenly experience.

I use the Ouai hair mask and I like it better than olaplex. You get a generous amount of product and only need a small amount for each use, so it has lasted me many months now. It also smells amazing.

Travel size or a spray version would be nice.
LOVE the detox shampoo! Once a week or so, it’s great to get out any buildup!
I tried their spray dry shampoo. Loved the smell and the portability of the bottle. I heard such great things about it and was expecting a miracle but it didn't deliver for me.

Didn't love the texture of my hair after the dry shampoo
I'm probably one of Ouai's #1 fans - not going to lie. I received their Detox Shampoo as part of my FabFitFun subscription in the summer of 2021 and have been buying their brand religiously since - the shampoo, body scrub, body cream, wave spray, leave in conditioner, hair oil, hand soap, hand lotion, body wash, both perfume scents (melrose place & north bondi), and their dog shampoo. And a bunch of refills of said products (esp. the shampoo, hand soap, and perfumes as I use those the most). Their scents are just INCREDIBLE and make you feel so luxurious. I only bought the hair oil because it was cheap and I wanted to try it (I usually never use hair oil) but I loved it so much it's become a staple to my routine. I've also given the little travel sizes as gifts for my friends and family who have now also become loyal Ouai fans. I just love, love, love it. And I love that their customer service is pretty personable :)

I personally am not a big fan of the supplement lines (haven't tried it but supplements always feel kinda gimmicky to me) but hey, I don't have to love every single thing.
I really like this brand! The products smell incredible and the ones that are repurchased me are on consistent rotation. I love the Super Dry Shampoo, body/hair oil, heat protection spray, and light hairspray.

I'd like the tinted dry shampoo to be a bit less messy and come in a wider range of colors. I can't seem to find one that works!
My hair is something I have been trying to figure out for many years, and until recently where I have gone natural and embraced my curls, for a long time I was trying to get rid of frizziness and get my hair as straight as possible. So I heard good things about OUAI and decided to try them out. I got a particular bundle that was supposed to help with frizz that consisted of the Hair Oil, Finishing Creme, and Texturizing Hair Spray. They also gave me a sample of the Fine shampoo and conditioner. And overall, I really enjoyed the products! Especially the creme and spray, which I felt did their jobs. The hair oil on the other hand might have been a bit too much for my very thin hair and weighed it down and made it look greasy, even if I only used it a bit.
Very nice smelling shampoo and conditioner. They offer a range of products for different concerns. I have used the dry shampoo foam which is so weird to use since it’s essentially mousse and I feel like it works better with styling
I love the curl cream, it's a bit harder to get hold of now for some reason but it's one of the best I've tried, lovely soft hold and nice scent, plus a bottle lasts a long time. The body + hair mist is also nice although the scent doesn't last that long.
OUAI is amazing high quality product with a reasonable price! Great smell and super luscious feel! It made my hair shiny - silky - and it felt healthier after regular use.
**Review: Ouai St. Barths Bath Gel** Ouai's St. Barths Bath Gel has become a game-changer for me. The scent is incredible, giving a fresh, clean vibe that’s like an instant escape to a tropical beach. It lathers well and leaves my skin feeling great—clean and hydrated without any greasy residue. The overall experience is top-notch, making my showers feel like a mini getaway. If you're looking for a bath gel that combines rugged quality with a touch of luxury, this is it. Highly recommended!
I've only used the detox shampoo, and honestly I feel like there wasn't much of a difference. I do live in a place with hard water, and I use hard water shampoos once a week, and those seem to be more effective. But I wanted to try out something that maybe wasn't so harsh on my hair, but the detox shampoo did not so the trick. Will probably end up gifting it to someone who wants it.

I have very fine curly hair and love the air dry foam and hair oil. Both products help hydrate my hair and hold its shape without weighing it down.
I’ve loved the Ouai Detox and hair oil for a few months now. I think the shampoo works really well for my ultra oily hair and the hair oil just smells delightful. I use the shampoo once a week and my hair doesn’t get as oily as it used to and it isn’t too dry either. Both are pricey but last a while. One thousand percent recommend.
Love the hair oil, shampoo and conditioner good but a bit overpriced.
