Ouai is a highly praised brand for their richly scented and effective hair care products. The brand's strengths include the calming jasmine scented oil, detox shampoo, and leave-in conditioner, which customers have reported to enhance the health and appearance of their hair. Mid! The hair oil is a finishing oil, so purely for shine and not nourishment. The masks are similarly superficial, and I didn't find their shampoo impressive. With that said, the smells are lovely, and I imagine (though have not tried) the candles to be similarly lovely-smelling. The packaging is nice, but no longer novel - lots of brands are offering minimal design haircare, but with effective ingredients too. Their styling pomade is just okay - I'll use it up eventually, but it hasn't changed my life/hair.

I know Ouai gets a lot of praise on the internet, but I haven't found anything particularly crazy revolutionary about their products. I found their shampoo to be so-so. Felt like it dried my hair out. Much prefer other conditioners to theirs. Smells nice, but not something I'd go out of my way to purchase again. 

I’m all about the OUAI St. Bart’s scent! It truly smells so wonderful and relaxing! I bought these “chill pills” bath bomb which are so cute and would make such a fun gift! I think I’d just like them in the other scent!

I love the smell a rich jasmine scent which is so calming and I love that the oil is not very heavy or greasy it is the perfect consistency 

I have very thick wavy texture hair that dries out very quickly so I’ve been on a quest for hair products that actually leave my hair moisturized and soft. I was intrigued because they have shampoo and conditioner based on hair thickness and I originally tried a sample and liked it. In the end, I ended up finally shelling out the money for Oribe which has worked wonders. I have pretty difficult hair, so Ouai might work better for others. 

Of all the products I tried over the course of a year: 

Favorites:
- detox shampoo: can actually feel a difference and feels like it really cleans my hair
- hair oil: obsessed with it, smells amazing and it’s so light but moisturizing but doesn’t leave my hair looking greasy, the one product I buy over and over again and recommend to friends with thick textured hair and they love it too

Didn’t get much out of: 
- thick hair shampoo & conditioner: doesn’t feel like it actually moisturized any better than drugstore shampoo or conditioner
- curl cream: didn’t work well for my texture, hair felt dry after  
- hair mask: this one took a while to decide if I liked or not because my hair felt so soft coming out of the shower, but I don’t think it actually stays that way for long vs Oribe where my hair actually feels soft for days
