Reviews mention

  • Powerful clarifying shampoo efficacy
  • Lightweight, glossy hair oil
  • Sophisticated, memorable fragrances
  • Chic, minimalist packaging
  • Overpowering fragrance intensity
  • Occasional residue and buildup
  • Drying clarifying formulations
  • Cumbersome thick-product packaging

Ouai impresses in reviews for effective detox shampoo, weightless-yet-smoothing hair oil, and evocative scents like St. Barts and Melrose Place, confirming the brand works for deep cleansing and soft, shiny results. However, multiple reviews flag overpowering fragrance, residue or dryness with continued use, hit-or-miss styling (especially Wave Spray), and packaging issues with thick conditioners—making performance and scent tolerance highly hair-type dependent.

  • I feel like I have been a bit late to the Ouai game but I appreciate all the products I have tried! The thinning pills after a month of taking actually showed great improvement in my hair but also my nails as well! I love the curly creme and hair/body oil, and the smell is something I always want to bathe in!!

The price point is a bit high, but for the signature smell and results I would say it is worth it. I wish the thinning pills also were available at Ulta instead of just Sephora, but I will still make the trip for it!

  • Great! Love the look of these products

Wave spray is too sticky & smells too floral

  • Ouai is great! I started using their detox shampoo about a month ago and have already seen a huge difference in my scalp health. I can't wait to try more products from this brand.

  • I absolutely love ouai — it’s been a total game-changer for my curly hair. The leave-in conditioner is especially amazing. It hydrates without weighing my curls down, defines them beautifully, and leaves my hair soft, shiny, and frizz-free. It also smells fantastic and feels really lightweight, which can be hard to find in curly hair products. I’ve tried so many brands, and this one really stands out. Highly recommend if you’re looking to nourish and define your curls!

  • I've used the Ouai Detox Shampoo for about a year off and on. I have relatively thin hair that needs a deep cleanse and weightless products. This shampoo is effective but even though I only use it 1-2 times a week to make it last it seems really expensive for the results I get.

  • Amazing scents from Ouai. The St. Bart scent is so reminiscent of piña colada tropical vacation. The St. Barts body scrub has one of the best body scrub formulas that is not gritty and perfectly melts into a delicious body wash texture.

  • I'm not a fan. I found this to be super overpriced in terms of quality. Not moisturizing at all! The smell was also just okay, nothing special or complex. If this wasn't in nice packaging and I was just blindly trying it, I would be like eh, next.

  • Smells delicious but I feel like it doesn't do much for my hair. I wanted more out of the price to be honest. Probably will not repurchase.

  • OUAI Detox Shampoo is a total lifesaver for removing buildup and leaving my hair feeling clean, refreshed, and lightweight. It lathers beautifully and gives my scalp that deep-clean feeling without stripping my hair or making it feel dry. The scent is luxurious and long-lasting—like a spa in a bottle! I use it once a week, and it’s amazing how it brings life back to my hair, especially after using styling products or going through busy weeks. If you’re looking for a shampoo that resets your hair and keeps it healthy and shiny, OUAI Detox Shampoo is a must-have. Highly recommend!

  • everything I tried from OUAI is phenomenal. my absolute favourite is Cleansing Scalp & Body Sugar Scrub. it's an amazing scrub that smells like roses. luxury in your bathroom at an affordable price!

  • Sustainable, natural, clean hair and skin products with great scents. Fresh and leave my hair and skin feeling invigorated!

  • I have tried quite a few of these products but there has only been one that I have actually liked and continue to use. The air dry foam is super nice and I use it after almost every shower. It's perfect if you are feeling lazy and want soft waves. It helps decrease greasy, crunchy, or frizzy curls.

  • This ry didn't do anything to my hair. I have curly and dry hair and my curls were just meh after using their shampoo.

  • This shampoo and conditioner has been a GAME CHANGER for me -- and it's for real, not just because I like the packaging. The luxury hype and price point match up with the results -- see for yourself. My thin, often times frail and breaking hair is now nourished and growing.

  • Got a free sampler from Sephora and it smells amazinggg

Received a free product from Ouai
  • Love a packaging still even though lot's of brands have a similar look now. Have not been a huge fan of the shampoo and conditioner, I believe there are better, more target oriented options out there. I do love the leave in conditioner for my wavy hair, it works well and smells great! Love the scents over all.

  • Love their rose scalp sugar scrub. It smells and feels amazing. I tried an exfoliating scalp scrub from another company and hated it; ended up throwing it away. The Ouai scrub moves well through your hair to actually apply it to your scalp without it being to sticky or tacky and getting caught all in your hair before making it to your scalp. I found the curl enhancing spray to be okay, but nothing spectacular.

  • I tried their leave-in conditioner, and it was okay. It doesn't leave my hair quite as soft and frizz-free as other leave-ins, but it does the job in a pinch. I mostly use my bottle when I'm traveling now since it's travel-size.

  • I got a sample of the leave-in conditioner and I love it. The smell is amazing and it leaves my hair feeling great. I will be trying more products!
