Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Banza pasta is a good alternative to traditional pasta since it is made of chickpeas. I do not believe it is the best tasting alternative. I have tried the penne pasta along with the mac & cheese and I find it to have a chalky texture. The flavors in the mac & cheese do a good job at disguising it so I bought it multiple times for the protein.

  • This pasta was amazing - and I'm a picky pasta gal. The chickpeas gave this pasta just a teeny touch of more flavor than your average noodle - but if you asked me I might not even know Banza was made from a different substance than a regular noodle. I love the nutritional content. Can't wait to have more!

  • Original-ish gluten free brand when gluten free was first taking off. Not my favorite, as I find other brands that get less clunky and stuck together when cooked.

  • didn't really like the chickpea flavor, does not taste as similar to regular pasta

  • I have appreciated the vegan mac and cheese over the years, but after trying their new toaster waffles I think I am giving up on Banza. The waffles were painfully bad, stick with pasta (and not even pizza!) if you want to try the brand.

  • love this since im gluten free and can't eat a lot of pasta. also love the protein content as someone who works out. do not like the xanthan gum however

  • The pasta is good but it does not replace regular pasta. It's a little dry and you need to add a sauce to it. It's a nice high protein option and great if you need to be GF but definitely not going to replace my regular pasta nights.

  • In my household, we've been looking for ways to enjoy pasta without spiking our glucose levels. Banza proved to be a pretty good choice! The texture is a little different from traditional pasta, but it isn't as noticeable as other brands.

  • Better to undercook these otherwise they get mushy, but generally okay if you want a substitute pasta with more protein. Won’t replace the real thing though

  • This used to be great but I feel like there are a lot better options out there now

  • Super easy to use for pasta in a vegetarian dish for an extra protein boost. Taste super good, I don’t notice the difference from regular noodles. The cook time on these is a little shorter than normal pasta and takes a little adjustment.

  • Love Banza's products, the pizza is great especially compared with other frozen pizzas! My toddler loved it too.

  • Delicious, can’t tell it’s GF! I’ve only tried the cheese pizza of my variety 4 pack but am eager to test the next one. The texture of the crust crisps nicely and the taste is good. It’s pretty small, more of a personal pizza than a shareable :)

  • Banza pasta is great. I love it - it really tastes like regular pasta. It is just a bit gummier.

  • The best chickpea pasta!

Not in the UK :( Also wish the box was fully recyclable

  • Easy to cook and it holds shape nicely.

Kind of gummy if you don't watch it and it is very dense

  • I love pasta and pizza... but the carbs always give me the worst food comma. I've been trying to find an alternative and Banza is 100% it. You literally can not tell a difference and it's healthier.... so why not? I feel that almost everyone I know is gluten-free so every time I bring pasta to an event I get a very subtle attack. Now I look forward to the looks on everyone's face when I say "It's gluten-free!" So I purposely make pasta for this satisfaction. Catch me at a potluck... As soon as everyone tries it they wind up buying it. In terms of food referrals, this is hands down the one product everyone ends up buying.

Wish I could buy the pasta in larger sizes.

  • I recently went gluten free and this product has been able to help me still eat the foods I like without sacrificing health and taste. I’ve only had the Mac and cheese but I absolutely love it… I have trouble not eating the whole box!! Sometimes I do get a little stomach ache after eating but I think that has more to do with my portion size than the product itself 😂.
