Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

I've eaten the pasta on many occasions and it serves as a pretty good substitute. I really like the brand extensions and making this more of an accessible product.

It's still can't compete with real pasta.

One of my favorite pasta replacements! I have been Gluten Free for 10 years, and Banza is life changing. Actually yummy, keeps its shape, tastes great with many sauces or just butter/EVOO. Also love that it is high protein, easiest dinner ever. They have great shapes, the Mac and Cheese is yummy! Texture wise- the pasta is a bit denser than a normal pasta but great overall- you really need to follow instructions specifically! Undercooking for a minute is better than overcooking. Have not tried the pizza yet, but looking forward to it!

Honestly- when you start eating this as a replacement instead of pasta you might feel a little... farty... many more legumes than normal lol! The pasta is also heavier feeling- so practice portion control otherwise you might feel uncomfortably full vs. a normal pasta. I would also not suggest Banza for a cold pasta recipe like Pasta Salad, as it gets too dense when cold!
These were a tasty pasta alternative and my kids ate it without noticing a difference
This is my new favorite gluten free pasta! Cooks just like gluten filled pasta and has a great texture. This is the best stuff out there for those who are gluten free, or even if you're not!

It’s definitely not as good as a proper bronze-die semolina pasta, but I appreciate the extra protein and fiber, and the pasta is great for things like soups (and the mac and cheese is perfectly serviceable). Not as into the pizzas and haven’t tried anything else.
I recently tried Banza pasta and was disappointed with the experience. While I was excited to find a chickpea-based alternative, the taste didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It had an off-putting flavor that overshadowed the dish I was trying to create. Additionally, the texture was a major letdown—it turned out super mushy, making it unappealing to eat. I appreciate the brand’s effort to offer a healthier option, but unfortunately, Banza didn't deliver on taste or texture for me. I’ll be looking for other alternatives in the future.
I have a long history of buying and serving bananza pasta to my family. At the time, we loved it as substitution for normal pasta, but now, as this brand is currently in the news, I’m not going to purchase it anymore. The story may be old or not correct, but I don’t want to take any chances with chemicals in my food. It’s with it to me to just stop buying it cold turkey.

I really wanted to like this... Taste wasn't great, texture wasn't great. Even in something saucy, the issues stood out enough to make the whole dish fairly unpleasent. Still looking for a palatable wheat alternative pasta lol!
This is overpriced “pasta”. I’m fine with regular pasta thankfully based on the price and taste so trying this because I see it all over social media and stuff was a mistake. Ok if you need it but I don’t.

This brand is the reason I didn't lose it while I was trying to eat healthier but also consume enough protein but also not eat too much meat. LOVE that I can eat protein-packed carbs without feeling guilty.
Just cooked up some Banza pasta, and I’m blown away! Made from chickpeas, it's protein-packed and tastes amazing. Perfect for a healthy twist on classic comfort food. If you’re looking to elevate your pasta game, Banza is a delicious and nutritious choice!
The regular pasta is decent but certain shapes cook better than others. It's a cool higher protein alternative to traditional pasta. The mac & cheese is so bad though-- borderline inedible. Goodles is a way better alternative!
I would say they are a good alternative to regular pasta but sometimes the chickpea pasta tastes a little off.
One of the most common concerns with gluten-free alternatives is the taste, but with Banza, you will not even notice. The texture is spot-on, delivering that perfect al dente bite that pasta lovers crave. The best part? You genuinely can't taste the difference! Even skeptics who swear they can detect a gluten-free substitute were pleasantly surprised (aka my anti gluten-free mother)! 100% recommend.
I love banza pasta! It’s amazing to know it’s healthy and tastes just like regular pasta.
Definitely worth trying, especially if you follow a gluten-free diet. The pasta texture definitely seems improved upon since I tried the pasta years ago. Not as chalky. I just discovered the pizza crust which is amazing, esp since it’s also vegan. A lot of gluten free alternative pizza crusts have eggs. Even my Italian dad who is not a fan of “alternative” foods thought it tasted pretty good.
We all enjoyed this I subbed for regular pasta and the kids didn’t even notice!
Fantastic pasta for those who are GF or those just trying to add more protein into their diet. Great texture (not mushy!) and taste. Easy to find in most supermarkets.

Their pasta is wonderful. Be warned, it doesn't compare side by side, but it does work on its own (I once mixed regular pasta and Banza, and it was basically inedible tasting the differences in one bite). It's a great alternative with the bonus of protein. I reach for it occasionally.
