quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

  • I used to really love my quip - it was quite, small and super sleek - especially with the all black option. When the brush broke - quip replaced it immediately no questions asked. As much as I loved this toothbrush, I am giving it a three out of five as it just unfortunately didn't clean my teeth as well as I would have liked - the dentist complained which is when I knew it was time to switch.

  • i bought the refillable floss pick because cleaning my back molars was hard for me when i started flossing consistently , and i thought it would be a good compromise to the picks i grew up using without creating needless waste. first off, the floss it comes with is TERRIBLE‼️ even though i bought this system to use with my preferred floss (and i had no problem doing so) quip’s floss is just abominable. pretty much every time you read some overpriced bourgeoisie dtc floss brand compare their 100% organic silk and vegetable wax floss to the average plastic floss QUIP’S FLOSS IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT. extremely thin, sharp, felt like i was rubbing razor wire between my gums. but as for the refillable system, despite its terrible reviews, i enjoyed it and had no problems using it at all. it definitely helped me get into the habit of flossing every day. I don’t use it anymore though because the shape of the floss pick (floss picks in general) is not natural to the curve of teeth and causes me to push into my gums. it’s better to learn to floss the proper way. also this company automatically puts products in your cart that you won’t notice until you’re almost about to purchase. 😐

  • I really wanted to like Quip, but just did not. My mom got me the Monthly Membership for Christmas and I was so excited. Less waste, eco-friendly packaging, and they are sent to my door. Great in theory! And I am not completely against them. But for me- I had the hardest time changing the battery. This was a struggle I had multiple times and was pulling at it so hard. I wish they were rechargeable instead. Additionally, my Quip would randomly turn out and start vibrating out of no where. I would wake up and hear it in the bathroom. Super strange. All in all, I really wanted to love this product and with a few fixes, it could be great!

  • Quip makes taking care of our teeth so easy! The app gives me motivation to continue my streak. The subscription service is timely and easy to navigate. The shipping is environmentally friendly and refills are so painless.

  • Love the idea behind quip and the design. The toothbrush is amazing and is convenient to travel with. I just bought the quip pic and love the design, but the quality of the floss is not great. I wish they upped their game on the floss.

    Feedback

Innovative concept - packaging, while lovely is overkill. The floss is sub-par and with the pic you can not use your own floss. Otherwise, this would be my new favorite product. I may have to return it ... not worth the price for sub-par performance.

  • I've been using the QUIP toothbrush for a year now. I love it! It gentle vibrates for two minutes so you know exactly how long to brush in each quadrant of your mouth. But honestly, what I love the most is the size- it's easy to hold, and the head is slightly smaller than average and and easy to navigate around my mouth. 5 stars for sure!

  • When I got my first quip, I was really impressed. I like the overall design, and simple features. However, I've had to purchase 2 in the last few years because the first broke. The second is pretty finicky and I have to shake it around for the button to actually turn on. I do love the subscription for the new head and general affordability. The travel case / mirror holder worked great for me until the stickiness wore off, but I loved the simplicity and design. To be honest, I'll probably buy a third because it seems like the price point considering most other electric toothbrushes are $100+ and in general, the pros outway the cons for me.

  • I loved the design and aesthetic but unfortunately my dentist said the brush was seriously lacking. They said the problem was a lack of vibration within the brush, so I had heavy plaque build-up after using Quip. After switching to a sonicare, my oral hygiene significantly improved.

Need to improve the design to make it functional

  • I have the Standard Electric Toothbrush, and I think it's fine! The battery wears out pretty quickly, and there's just a huge difference in the strength of the vibration when you first replace the batteries vs. shortly after. I do appreciate that it had a vibration pause to let you know when you need to switch to another quadrant of your mouth, to make sure you're brushing enough. It does look sleek and very pretty, so I'll give it that!

    Feedback

Would love a more powerful battery, and if you could purchase a cover separately, since I either never received one or lost it ages ago.

  • The toothbrush is slick and the colors are lovely. I love the look and feel. But I don’t feel like quip gets my teeth as clean as a sonicare.

    Feedback

The electric buzzing feels pretty weak and the toothbrush heads come in unnecessary amount of plastic packaging. I also felt like the floss is thin and stringy so we’ve moved on to better products.

  • I have been a quip subscriber for 6 years now, and I'm not planning to stop any time soon. I find it easy and convenient (because let's be real, I was not purchasing new toothbrushes regularly before this) and like the packaging for the whole thing. They don't have anything extraneous, in fact it feels pretty clear they use the same packaging for if you have up to four subscriptions which honestly i like. I haven't tried any other their other products, i'm a once and done kinda guy to be honest.

My only qualm is that i feel like the quality has gone down in the last year. I had never had a problem and then starting last year i got two shipments that didn't work (i.e. dead batteries) and then a replacement that didn't work. We're back on top now, but i'm always a little worried at this point.

  • I got one of these as a gift a few years ago and was initially obsessed. I liked that it was affordable and swapping out the heads was easy, but after a while, I was disenchanted. There was always build up whenever I took the head off to replace it and got to the point that I was taking the head off to clean it after every use. It just got to a point where I threw it away because it wasn’t worth the hassle.

  • Good product. I've had mine for over 2 years. Still works great.

    Feedback

    None at this time.

  • I’ve used a Sonicare toothbrush for years and love it. I got this because it’s easier to travel with due to its compact size and not needing a charging cord. Those two items are true. My only complaint is that it’s not as powerful as I would have hoped. It doesn’t clean my teeth as well as I want. All in all, it’s not awful but it’s not great.

  • I like that this electric tooth brush looks and feels like a regular toothbrush. The subscription makes it easy to remember when to change the head and battery. The floss and toothpaste are nothing special, but cool if you like all matching products with a cute aesthetic. The motor in mine stopped working, because I had an active subscription they shipped me a new one for free. Great customer service

    Feedback

My subscription is only a battery and head, the packaging used to ship seems overly bulky and is always smooshed, but I appreciate that it is 100% cardboard and recyclable.

  • I was unfortunately disappointed with Quip. It's possible I was brushing too hard, but within a year, I had to get 2 replacements (covered by quip), as well as a replacement for my mom who I had gifted one to (also covered by quip). While their customer service was great, the challenges with the product itself made it not worth it

  • Tried out their refillable floss pick because I hate wasting the plastic in the disposable kind. The pick and container take a little bit of practice to use, and the floss feels particularly flimsy. I have to replace it several times during each flossing session. The container and pick are really nice and good quality. You can pick from a variety of colors and it feels durable and travel friendly. Flossing seems a bit like sunscreen, you should use whatever actually helps you floss and so far this is working for me.

    Feedback

I don't like how you are sort of locked into a subscription at purchase. Saying "you can cancel at anytime" really just means more work for me. It feels like they are counting on people to forget, rather than a convenience that is really for my sake. Also, there was a lot of upselling on the website. I had to decline extra items and packages multiple times during the ordering process.

  • I had been a manual brush guy before switching to Quip, and I really liked it. It has made me a noticeably more thorough and frequent brusher. I really like the clean, simple design — looks great on a shelf in my bathroom next to my Harry's razor. However, I upgraded to the "Smart Motor" and feel pretty disappointed about that. The pairing hardly ever works, the analytics aren't that useful, and because it seems to miss most of my brushing, I don't even get to use the rewards.

    Feedback

The bluetooth pairing is extremely unreliable. And I would like to be able to customize my refill frequency, because by the last month of the cycle, my brush head is usually very worn out and soft. The little case also loses the adhesive backing, so I would rather they just made it a proper travel sleeve and had a separate mount for the brush at home.

  • As someone who has always refused to buy the classic electric toothbrush, I love that Quip gives a bit of a technical boost to my brushing without all of the charging and bulkiness. I love the cover of the toothbrush and I can't imagine traveling with anything else. Personally, two minutes is too little and I often press the button twice, but my teeth do feel extra clean without leaving my gums sore. Replacing brush heads is also easy since Quip is available at basically every Target. I've had my toothbrush for almost two years now, so the adhesive backing on the cover has worn out, but I wouldn't have expected it to last even the 8 months that it did.

  • I really, really liked the look of it, but the toothbrush ''died'' after about 6 months of use and getting the replacements for the actual brush part delivered to Europe was pretty impossible (I bought it in the US when visiting).
