Lush earns polarizing reviews: aficionados praise its standout bath bombs, indulgent scrubs (Scrubee, Ocean Salt, Magic Crystals), beloved staples like Dream Cream, Celestial, and Mask of Magnaminty, plus vegan/eco-minded practices and fun in‑store testing. Detractors cite overpowering, sometimes irritating fragrances, inconsistent efficacy (notably some skincare, conditioners, and shampoo bars), product discontinuations, and occasional staining or messy residue from bombs—making the brand better for gifts and sensorial self‑care than results‑driven routines.

  • Obsessed with their bath bombs and shower bars!

  • A little too much scent for my sensitive skin. It’s a fun gift!

  • I loved lush growing up, now it is not a huge deal and I find their products are feel good placebos, and for the price I rarely shop there, it is nice for gifts and if you want to try it!

  • This store is okay to go to with a child, but I find their product generally do more harm than good. Abrasive salt scrubs that cause micro-tearing on the skin, comedogenic face masks, shampoos that weigh down the hair. It's fun to go with kids because the ingredients are interesting and the whole place feels like a science experiment, but they cannot be relied on for effective products.

  • Products are good. But their stores are overwhelming & intimidating. Website isn’t designed well and is needlessly confusing. So I rarely end up buying from them.

  • I've tried their body scrub and their clay mask and I loved it. Although it's a bit expensive, it's worth it.

  • I love the innovation of the products, and that it truly is clean products given the freshness of them. However, the scents are very strong and not in the way that you're glad it lasts all day, but in the way that it gives you an artificial headache.

  • Their products do not have clean ingredients and full of fragrance. The smell in there is TOO much, gives me a headache.

  • Beautiful smelling products. I love their scrubs and bathbombs. Their skincare is a bit oily and has too much fragrance. Great gifts.

  • I really like going to a Lush shop It smells so fresh. I love that the brand is vegan. The products are very nice to use.

  • Lush products feel luxurious. The bath bombs are my favorite and so much better than other brands that often feel like they disappear into the water too fast with little effect.

  • The bath bombs are fun, but messy. Sometimes the smells are a wee bit overwhelming. Going into the stores is a nightmare.

  • This brand never disappoints. If I pass by a store I have to buy something. It's the only brand I buy bath bombs from and when I want to treat myself their fresh face masks and scrubs are a go-to!

  • There's nothing from Lush that I have tried that I have wanted to buy again. They had their run in 2014 but I have not been reminded of their existence since.

  • I think some products are a hit and some products are a bit of a miss. My go-to purchases when I want to indulge are the mask of magnaminty, the dream cream, posh chocolate body wash, and obviously a great bath bomb or two. I loved the honey I washed my hair shampoo bar but I wasn't a big fan of the conditioner bar. I'd definitely do research before going into the store and purchasing (or online) just to make sure the products do work for you.

I always forget to recycle my lush products, I wish they had an online system to send the packaging back.

  • Lush can be a hit or miss but for gifts their bath bombs rarely dissapoint. I loved the one that looked like a rocket that was headed into space when put into water and gifted it to many friends with kids who were super into space.

  • Do you remember the great bath bomb boom of 2015? When suddenly Instagram and Pinterest were overpopulated with photos of fluorescent bubble baths? That was my introduction to Lush's holy grail product. Seven years later, I've come to the conclusion that everything from Lush is simply a "nice-to-have." Their face masks and bath bombs are fun for a spa night, but I've never found myself walking into Lush for a specific product that wow'ed me. I don't think I've ever bought any singular item there a second time, to be honest.
