Reviews mention

  • Playful, confidence-boosting branding
  • Clever, mirrored refillable compact
  • Cute, expressive patch designs
  • Gentle, non-irritating hydrocolloid
  • Inconsistent, weak patch adhesion
  • Limited extraction effectiveness
  • Small, one-size star patches
  • Awkward, curling star points

Starface wins praise in reviews for playful branding, a handy refillable compact, and making acne feel celebratory, yet its classic Hydro-Stars often underperform versus competitors at extracting “gunk,” reducing inflammation, or staying put—especially overnight. While some users see quick results (notably with Micro-Cloud or blue salicylic acid stars), many cite weak adhesion, small one-size patches, and limited efficacy on early or cystic blemishes, making the brand better for pick-prevention and daytime cover than potent treatment.

  • The best pimple patches I've tried! The pore strips work well too-- I'd say they're comparable to the drugstore stuff. I'm brand loyal to Starface for all my pimple patches and enjoy trying different colors or shapes when I can. Consistent, reliable, and fairly priced IMO.

  • Okay, so I LOVE these. They make me feel happy. But they're not exactly effective....unless you count effectiveness at making me feel happy.

Not the most effective pimple patch, and LOTS of wasted plastic.

  • Going into trying Starface out, I did not think that they were going to work that well. The patches are just as comfortable as they are cute, and they DO work on me just fine. I do feel that due to the star shape, they weren't as sturdy/sticking on my face as well as most round patches do (the star arms are kinda thin and flimsy), so I'd say to be careful when doing skincare/makeup over them. I bought the set with the container and it is not only very handy but also doubles as a cute desk/vanity display piece. I also like how the container comes with a mirror inside!

I would love to see Starface be readily available in CVS and Walgreens.

  • These little stars are so cute I had to get them despite the very steep price. And they do the trick! I love the little case they come in. If you want a unique look for your acne patch, this is a good option.

Quite expensive for how many stars you get.

  • I love that there is a dedicated container for these patches, so I know where to look for when I’m in need of it! Star face patches have definitely changed my mind about making acne fun and it’s ok to show your acne! I hated so much how the regular patches didn’t really conceal, if anything, made it more obvious - so why not just have cute stars and hello kitty instead? I do however think that it is not as effective as other brands, therefore will only use these patches on smaller pimples that need covering.

    Larger sizes? Haha

  • Cute idea, but I prefer less obvious patches that are clear. These worked ok, better for pimples that are pretty far along, but kind of useless for early intervention.

  • These are super cute and I do feel like the star case helps keep them organized, which I really like. These definitely work, but I don’t feel like they necessarily work quite as well as other similar patches on the market. If I have a serious pimple and I want something for overnight, I would probably go with something else. But if you need to wear something out these are really cute and do definitely have an effect, just not quite as much as other pimple patches.

  • I love the branding of Starface, but I find that the products don't stick to my face super well.

  • Love starface, but mostly love their collabs! This is one of the brands of pimple patches I often think come with an adequate amount of patches versus other packs for the same price.

Their stars can sometimes be too small, but they added new jumbo ones! I wish we could also access past collabs or holiday versions like the valentines hearts, Sesame Street, or Hello kitty but understand the hype of limited editions!

  • Tad expensive, but also a tad whimsical, so c'est la vie! I love their designs, their fun branding and the product does work really well. Plus, who can put a price on feeling better about acne? Honestly I can't and I'm very happy with these!

  • They look really fun but are hard to remove and dont do anything but cover it up

  • They’re cute and I love that they’re kinda an accessory now, but I feel like other pimple patches work better on my skin personally.

  • I love these. They come out with cute different shapes sometimes too. I have worn these in public, and it's just like fun stickers on your face - it feels like a fun way to not be shy about it. I find myself reaching for these constantly. The packaging is lovely, and it works really well.

  • I think the patches are fine. I’ve tried a lot of pimple patches, but I felt like these are just okay as far as helping with healing and not as sticky. But if I'm gonna leave the house with a pimple patch on I think they're so cute and when I see someone else with them on I feel like we get each other.

  • So cute but not very practical imo. I'd rather just stick to hydrocolloid patches or mighty/cosrx patches as they're way more affordable and the circular shape has better surface area/stickiness. I noticed that if I put just a little too much moisturizer or product on my face before application these would slip right off.

  • I have the regular yellow patches, and after trying them over the last 6ish months I can't really say I've noticed they do anything other than being a cute and fun accessory, or as a way to help prevent from picking or messing with a pimple. I've heard and read that the blue ones actually work, but I haven't tried them myself! Overall, probably wouldnt re-purchase and have definitely had patches that work so much better in the past. Love the little refillable packaging though, very cute.

  • I love to use Starface patches when I am running errands and want to still feel cute while taking care of my skin. The size of the patch is perfect for any size pimple, and I've found the star shape to actually be functional, as you can easily place two patches next to each other without them overlapping. Starface is not my go-to patch for functionality or overnight use though, as I don't notice a huge difference in inflammation after using them like I do some less-cute patches. I've noticed this with other patch that have the same texture and thickness as Starface too, so I'm not sure if there are different kinds of hydrocolloid, but something about the pimple patches with color or graphics just don't work as well for me. Overall, they are great to have on hand for going out in public and creating a barrier for skin-picking, but I've found better patches on the market for actually reducing the size of a pimple.

  • The packaging is the CUTEST! It makes pimples as fun as they could be. The stars themselves got the job done. I wouldn’t walk outside though with it on my face. This is unlike some competitors that are clear and blend in better.

All the stars are one size, so it makes it hard to adjust to pimples that are the size of Mt. Everest.

  • These are really pretty pimple patches that come in fun shapes and colors. I think this is good when you want to cover up a pimple when going out but do not want to make it worse by hiding it under makeup.
