  • Great razor, great customer service, love that the blades are not proprietary to leaf, buy single edge razor blades, packs of 100 are around $7-10. I had a problem with a razor I purchased and they warranty replaced it for me. I have not had any issues with the new one and it’s been going strong for 3 years!

  • I had a plastic dermaplane razor on its last legs that I wanted to compare side by side with my new one from Leaf and I was SO blown away by the difference! The company mission is really wonderful, and though I have switched largely to sugar-waxing for most of my body, I'm glad to never have to buy a plastic dermaplane razor ever again. Definitely worth the cost.

  • Leaf is amazing! I have the five-blade Lead and it's the best razor ever. The price point steered me away for a while but I finally jumped on it and have been loving it ever since. The blades are super easy to clean and replace often.

    Feedback

It is a bit slippery and it takes a minute to get used to that. I do wish they had a better stand and a smaller travel case.

  • I absolutely love love love my leaf shave. It is super easy to change out the blades, plus it is sustainable. Even though it may be pricey up front, it is much cheaper than buying plastic razors. I always say, you get what you pay for. I actually love mine so much I bought my mom one as well. I will never go back to any other kind of razor.

  • Purchased the dermaplaner for my partner & they love it. They love the environmentally friendly materials used & are happy to ditch the plastic eyebrow razors they had been previously using.

  • The dermaplaner is super cool. I am kind of inexperienced with such tools so I was surprised by the sharpness of the blade. If you use disposable dermaplaners, definitely look into Leaf for a reusable one!

  • First time using a dermaplaner as an exfoliation tool. I found it hard to maneuver and ended up with small cuts and rashes all over my face. Too scared to try again, but probably using some sort of lubricant would be safer. The built of the dermaplaner feels sturdy and the weight is nice on the hand.

    Feedback

It should have a proper guard that keeps the tool at the right angle.

  • Liked the weight and feel of the razor. It's definitely a high quality piece. And, I have been dying to try dermaplaning for a minute. The razor was perfectly designed and ergonomic for use. I felt comfortable using it and liked the feel. However, I also get my face sugared monthly and I don't think the two work well together. I didn't have much on my face to remove and then when I went to my sugaring appointment I didn't have much left for my aesthetician to tackle.

I would love a little more guidance on the types of oils I should be using when I am using the Leaf razor.

  • I got the dermaplane razor during their Thingdrop and it was pretty okay! I've never dermaplaned before and putting the blade guard + actual blade in was actually pretty nerve-wracking. It was difficult to lock it in and I ended up having to sterilize it multiple times because it kept falling out. Once it was ready, the razor was really easy to use! It glided nicely, and seeing all the dead skin scraped off was fun. I went right in with my usual nighttime skincare routine afterward and my skin looked and felt ~so smooth~ the next morning. I also felt some mild sensitivity for a few days, so I wouldn't do it more than once every 1.5 weeks.

    Feedback

I feel like the head is pretty wide? It was difficult to get the blade to glide ~just right~ because the metal head would hit my skin first, leaving a gap between my face and the actual blade. Could just be a technique thing though!

  • Im a beginner to dermaplaning, but this device made it *so easy*. I love the heft, I love that its sustainable, I love that it feels really high quality. I look forward to diving further into Leaf's product line. Very impressive little device!

  • I love this razor. It's the best sustainable option on the market. No nicks unlike safety razors that have a learning curve. I would absolutely recommend this to everyone. It's an investment to start, but replacement blades are dirt cheap.

    Feedback

The one thing I would change is the flexibility of the razor head. It's actually _too_ flexible. Don't know how to explain that any better.

  • I have the large Leaf in gold with the green grippy ($84 + $5 = $89) This is a sustainable swap that was incredibly difficult to make because yes, the razor is heavier and ethically made, but the maintenance is AWFUL. My first razor actually had a defect (the entire head was permanently tilted sideways) and I sent it back to them for two weeks and this process was free. However, the head was still tilted a bit and it's difficult to shave the tighter spots. I was gifted another by a friend and it had a normal head and worked much better! My biggest issue is actually maintenance. The back has METAL screw to take off the blades and since it's METAL + you're in the shower, it's impossible to screw off to clean. This is why they sell a rubber grippy (essential btw) because there's no grip in the shower. You can't just clean the front blades because the back is typically where things get stuck, so you have to unscrew it and this process is enough to make me not use it. I appreciate the sentiment, but ergonomically there's room for improvement at this high of a price point.

  • In full transparency I got this product via ThingDrop, but have been too nervous to actually use it. The packaging is lovely, and it looks well made, but perhaps there could be more educational material about how to use it, what to expect and what to do if you cut yourself (?!) I know the ThingDrop program is intended to get thoughtful reviews on the platform and I do want to respect that, so I'll be sure to update this review as soon as I (safely) use this leaf shave product!

  • It was great as a face shaving device, but it completely broke me out all over. Will be interested in trying the razor for the body though! the shave was super clean and easy

Hi Allie - Thanks for giving it a shot! Yes, dermaplaning is definitely *not for everybody* and some folks' skin may not enjoy the process. That's totally normal, though I'm sorry it wasn't a fit <3. - Adam

  • I purchased this on black friday, their razor, silicone sleeve and an extra pack of blades all for the original price of the leaf. i couldn’t be happier with my purchase, i have always been afraid of razor blades which kept me from trying out safety razors in the past but there was zero difficulty using a leaf probably because of the familiar design. i use to use billie razors which i now regret seeing how greenwashed they are. i will never go back and i’m looking forward to purchasing their dermaplanner.

Hi hi!! Aww thank you so much for taking a little leafy leap of faith with us. I'm really happy that you found Leaf and that you're able to make the switch, safely, to a plastic-free shave. We're here if you ever need anything - ([email protected]) - Adam

  • I have both the Leaf and the Single Blade Razors, and I've tried the shave bar. I love the idea of the metal razor where all you have to switch out is the blade, the help cut down on single-use plastic waste. I travel with the little one and keep the big one in the shower, and it's been working great. I don't particularly like the shave bar. I haven't found that it's helped me get a smoother shave than with just normal body wash/soap. My first single blade razor was faulty, and customer service was super responsive, and replaced it no problem.

    Feedback

I think the most difficult thing is getting used to the weight of the razors (which frankly, I'm still not used to). Because they're weighted, you need to put almost no pressure down while shaving. Sometimes I forget I'm not using a light plastic razor anymore, and I cut myself from pressing down too hard. Beware! If you get the Leaf, definitely pay to get the little grippy sleeve. Otherwise the razor is wayyy too slippery.

  • Love the dermablade, a lot nicer than the drugstore ones and i like that i can change out the razor

Hi Shreya, Thank you for taking the time to share! I'm bummed of course that you don't find the tool practical. We're always here if you ever need any additional guidance or have any questions, you can find our help folks at [email protected].

  • I've owned the Leaf razor for about 4 years and it's my most favorite shave of all time. It does take some re-learning how to shave, but I'm always happy with the results. I'm super interested in the new derma-planer. The finish will rub off eventually if you have hard water and keep your razor in the shower.

  • I have both the leaf and twig razors gifted by the brand for content back in 2020 when they launched twig and I recommend these razors to anyone who is looking to reduce waste in their home. I also got one for my partner to shave his facial hair and he loves it. After the initial purchase, I haven't had to purchase blades since. I think it's worth every penny and nice to get on sale or with a discount around earth month or plastic free july!
