  • Fly by Jing brings bold, authentic Sichuan flavors to your kitchen, and their spices and sauces are truly next-level. The Zhong Dumpling Sauce is a game-changer—rich, savory, and just the right amount of heat with a hint of sweetness. It pairs beautifully with their frozen dumplings, which taste fresh and are packed with flavorful fillings that feel like they came from a restaurant. I love how versatile their sauces are; I’ve used them on everything from noodles to roasted veggies, and they never disappoint. My only gripe is the price—it’s definitely on the higher end for pantry staples, and the portions of both the sauces and dumplings could be more generous. Still, the quality and unique flavors make it a treat worth splurging on, especially if you love Sichuan cuisine.

  • I tried a chili oil that my roommate brought home from the store in my soup. It is damn flavorful and spicy without having to use a ton of product (which I love). The product is expensive so I am knocking off a star for this, but after seeing how little oil you need to flavor your dish, I see a bottle lasting a very long time. I am curious about their other products.

  • Fly By Jing Mala Sauce is a flavor explosion in a jar! The perfect blend of heat, numbing spice, and umami makes every dish unforgettable. I’ve added it to noodles, dumplings, stir-fries, and even pizza—it instantly elevates everything. The rich, authentic Sichuan flavor is unlike anything else, and it’s versatile enough to use as a marinade, dip, or topping. The quality of the ingredients really shines through, and a little goes a long way. If you’re a fan of bold, spicy flavors, Fly By Jing Mala Sauce is a must-have in your kitchen. Highly recommend!

  • I bought this for my son's Christmas stocking. At first, he was like, Mom ... food, really? He tried it and loooooved it. He's been cooking for the whole family and always drops in a bit of Fly. He's on his third jar since Christmas!!!

  • tried many times with salivating flavors!

  • I have used their Sichuan Chili Crisp, which I have primarily combined with other ingredients to add a spicy oil and some crunch to sauces. It has worked very well for this purpose. I am not sure it is worth paying full price for, but if you can find it on sale it is a high quality, tasty chili crisp oil.

  • Delicious, but I think I'd still stick with my lao gan ma. I love supporting an up and coming business though, and the sauce is really really good

  • I LOVE this stuff. Got it to dip dumplings on, but ended up adding this to EVERYTHING from eggs to veggies to noodles to popcorn. A must try for anyone who loves asian flavors and spices.

  • Pretty good but prefer the more authentic brands

  • This is such a great addition to your cooking routine! The spice is controllable which is nice. It's a little kick if you add a small amount but can up it as necessary! For someone who can be sensitive to the spice, it's a good amount while still maintaining flavor. Great for stir fry, eggs, or as a drizzle on top! The jar is tiny but will last a long time.

  • This stuff is so good. I am literally obsessed with it. I put it on everything and I just enhances the flavor so much.

  • Chili "crisp"? more like like chili clump- up in the bottom of the jar like wet cement. I bought the extra spicy and it wasn't hot at all?? Zero flavor aside from the black beans which makes it taste like black bean sauce not chili crisp. Bought it on sale and still feel like I've been had.

  • I've tried the chili crisp, the zhong sauce, and the mala spice mix and I've gotta say...I've loved them all. Such great quality, excellent flavor, haven't had a delivery issue, just outstanding.

  • I bought this as a gift for my mom last year, and we love the chili crisp the most! My only complaint is that the lid doesn't seem to stay very tight once you get some of the oil on the container.

  • The chili crips is a great and versatile condiment to have in your pantry. We use it to punch up rice bowls and stir frys, but it's also wonderful on eggs. We even tried it on ice cream, as recommended, and while it wasn't bad, I wouldn't rush to do that again. It lasts a long time too.

I am not sure if this is a me problem or a product design problem, but the oil is constantly getting on the outside of the jar and leaving marks everywhere, even after we wipe it down.

  • The chili crisp is one of those condiment jars that you should always have a back-up of in your pantry. It is great on eggs, rice, etc etc etc. Their founder is also pretty rad.

Their chili crisp is a standout product. I feel like the other products get lost amongst it. Wish it were organic. The rapeseed and soybean oil on the ingredient list also are things I typically avoid, and cause me to not use this product as much as I would like to.

  • I feel like the only person in the world that doesn't rave about Fly by Jing. I was underwhelmed by the Sichuan Chili Crisp; it feels heavy on the flat, oily taste and feels almost more like an ingredient than a standalone sauce. I've tried it with a ton of things, but when I get dumplings I generally prefer a more savory sauce I suppose. The Zhong Sauce was better, in my opinion, and I use that much more frequently, but it still tastes rather oily.

The packaging is a nightmare. These jars must have pores, because they sweat bright red oil over every surface they touch. No matter how many times you clean the jar and the lid, somehow, the stuff still escapes. I resorted to dumping them in Weck Jars, where they are finally contained. But they desperately need to figure out better jars, because I got real tired of cleaning up my cabinet every week.

  • I ordered my items when they were on preorder in 2020. With everything that happened last year, they too had a lot of delays with their manufacturer sourcing the ingredients. What I did appreciate was they sent multiple emails with status of the products, where the ingredients were, when they arrived in the warehouse, etc. It was nice to be brought along with the process to make me empathetic rather than angry that my items were months delayed. The sauces are soooo good! I loved Trader Joe’s chili crisp… but this one is 10x more flavorful. Def worth the cost.
