Reviews mention

  • Nostalgic, transportive fragrance
  • Innovative, playful formats
  • Lightweight, non-greasy textures
  • Consistently effective protection
  • Occasionally sticky application
  • Strong, lingering fragrance
  • Inconsistent white-cast issues
  • Leaky or flimsy packaging

Vacation wins rave reviews for making sunscreen genuinely enjoyable and, for many, highly effective—lightweight textures, no-sting protection, and a signature nostalgic scent draw repeat use—yet critiques note occasional white cast, stickiness or pilling, strong fragrance, small/leaky packaging, and mixed results with mineral and oil formats. Reviews of Vacation highlight standout formats like Classic Whip, Classic Lotion, and Chardonnay/Champagne oils, but also mention spray-can mechanism hiccups and uncertainty about application amounts with the whipped mousse.

  • Honestly the small of the classic spray is the biggest draw of the sunscreen for me since I hate the smell of traditional sunblock. Otherwise, I think it's a pretty standard sunscreen which is at a slightly higher price point but not obnoxiously so.

  • Vacation sunscreen is an absolute dream! Not only does it provide top-notch protection with its clean, safe formula, but it also brings the nostalgic scents of coconut, banana, and pool water that instantly transport me to sunny beach days. The formula is smooth, non-greasy, and absorbs quickly without leaving any white cast, which is a major plus. I love how it makes me feel like I’m on vacation every time I apply it. It’s the perfect balance of effectiveness and indulgence—my skin stays protected while I enjoy the tropical scent. If you want a sunscreen that’s as fun as it is functional, Vacation is hands down the best!

  • Vacation Classic SPF is a game-changer for sun protection! It has a lightweight, non-greasy formula that blends beautifully into my skin without leaving a white cast. The subtle, nostalgic scent is absolutely heavenly and makes applying sunscreen feel like a treat. It’s hydrating and sits perfectly under makeup, making it a versatile choice for both beach days and everyday wear. Plus, the retro packaging is so fun and chic—it’s a sunscreen you’ll actually look forward to using. If you’re looking for effective, high-quality SPF with a touch of luxury, Vacation Classic SPF is a must-try. Highly recommend!

  • I love this brand- the marketing, the products, the vibe. I have the oil and spray spf and love both. The smell is divine too.

  • Love this sm! I initially bought this spray so I could apply sunscreen over my makeup and I was not disappointed. I love how lightweight and convenient it is. It also smells divine and the packaging is so cute. Def recommend trying it and seeing if it matches your skin and needs.

  • I got the Vacation whipped SPF in a thingdrop and I LOVE it! The smell is heavenly and it melts into my skin without leaving any residue. It makes me want to use sunscreen.

  • I love everything I have from Vacation!! First of all, their packaging is GREAT. And the smell is also heavenly, it's so tropical and summery. But the products really do work, and they stay on!! I also like how many different options there is. You can do a spray, an oil, a regular lotion. I have to stay- I am impressed and I'm excited to see what else they continue to do!

  • I’m obsessed with a sunscreen, so many people ask what it is and where I got it. The smell is to die for too

  • Branding is great, but I am weary of any sunscreen brand that just swapped out avobenzene etc for other chemicals, when non-nano zinc oxide is the far more responsible option.

  • Love the aesthetic & scent. It's alright sunscreen, but it has a hard time absorbing. The kind that you can see on the surface of the water when you go swimming. Overall, you can get better bang for your buck elsewhere.

  • good sunscreen, but a bit overpriced not gonna lie. I love a gimmick though, so like I'm all in for that and i loved the whipped sunscreen. Definitely both confused and a little put off by the NFT side of the business though.

  • The concept and execution are wonderful. And it's wild that there's a veritable community around, more or less, a sunscreen brand. But I did not love the product itself and I can't get over the apparent gimmicky nature of the whole thing. It's more of a me problem than anything; just doesn't suit my style.

  • I ordered the Whipped Sunscreen through the Thingdrop and besides it smelling amazing and being a great sunscreen, Vacation does an amazing job with their 80s beachy branding. In my package I received "scratch" cards which had coupons + beachy virtual backgrounds for video calls, an air freshener with the scent of the whipped sunscreen, and a very well branded brochure. It was a great experience and I definitely will be using their sunscreen from now on, and getting a candle!

I cannot say enough how good the whipped sunscreen smells. Everything about Vacation is amazing!

  • The whipped cream dispenser is fun but not really practical. It's hard to control the amount of sunscreen and bits of it go everywhere. The packaging is fun and I love their branding, but there are better sunscreen products out there.

  • I really love sunscreen and the branding and product from vacation is my new favorite. The smell is amazing!

  • Loved the oil! Great brand and product. Packaging is 10/10.

    Nothing at this time.

  • This rubs off after about an hour! It pills worse than any sunblock I've ever applied. Would never purchase again. Lovely texture when it first goes on though. Scent is nice.

The containers need to be bigger. Bottles this small are wasteful and irresponsible.

  • Cool look, really nice smell that took me back in time, and an effective product.

I know the formula is something I support; would love to see the container be something more sustainable, too.
