Soft Services earns strong reviews for delivering visible results—its Buffing Bar, Carea Cream, and Clearing Mist consistently smooth KP, soften texture, and calm irritation—while sleek, sustainable packaging delights. Reviews also flag drawbacks: Theraplush’s polarizing scent and occasional stickiness, reports of stale/odd smells and a past mold-related recall, plus mixed feedback on Speed Soak and Smoothing Solution (residue, tackiness).

I chose this Buffing bar as a freebie from sephora with my purchase. I have thick calluses on the heels of both of my feet that I've had for years. I've always just used a battery buffer to maintain them a few times a week, because they wouldn't go away. I used this bar a few times a week in the shower and it buffed my calluses down to almost nothing. I finally just used my battery buffer to finish buffing my heels after using the bar one day and my feet look normal and feel smooth for the first time in years. So while it didn't completely remove my calluses it took away about 90% of them and helped prep other products to be more successful. Which makes me very likely to purchase it in the future.

Any brand lover... of skincare, design, or just good presentation... needs to buy a few Soft Services products at least once for the packaging experience alone. It’s thoughtful, elevated, and makes opening and using everything feel special. That said, the products themselves are genuinely high quality and perform really well. They’re definitely priced accordingly, but I’ve found the value holds up. I’m still using everything I bought and could absolutely see myself repurchasing when I run out. It’s a brand that nails both form and function.

I’ve seen the exfoliating bars on tiktok and have wanted to try them forever. I love the bar because it feels like more of a physical exfoliation than my liquid ones. The smell isn’t very strong but still like it.

I love this stuff. I started out with the buffing bar as a recommendation from a Sephora employee and at first I was unsure - but now I love it. Its the only exfoliant that has worked for me since Oui the People's product. The bar feels rough and scratchy on your skin - but i kind of like it. I usually use the bar, shave etc - and then end my shower with a body was as I don't love the film bar soap leaves. The smoothing solution I actually really like. I can successfully say after using this product - it has helped my ingrowns so bless. My ~only~ complaint with this one - is the packing. I'm having to keep this tube right side up because otherwise it leaks which is unfortunate because then I'm losing product and this stuff isn't cheap. I have also purchased the lotion but haven't tried that one yet - but its safe to say - i'm loving the products from this brand! I've repurchased the bars twice and i know ill go back for a third time!

From my wife: I can’t speak to KP, as I have never dealt with it, but was intrigued by the buffing bar as I have always had bumpy, irritated armpits, regardless of whether I tweezed/shaved/did nothing in the armpit area. It’s only been two uses, but already, I have found that my armpits are smoother than they’ve ever been, and my ingrown hairs are gone. The buffing bar is not cheap, but I am thrilled with the results after two uses. Since the bar is pretty pricey, we decided to invest in the Soap Home as well. I like that it protects the bar soap from degrading when not in use, while also letting it dry out. Nothing too miraculous here, but it does seem to improve the longevity of the bar soap.

This brand is so forward-thinking and cool but also really works! I first heard about them via their collab with DS& Durga, but never got to try it! Instead, I’ve been using their green banana buffing bar which has been amazing - I’ve recommended it to multiple people already. Now I’ve also started using their carea cream on my body and theraplush. I’d probably buy unscented theraplush next time, but every item will definitely be purchased again! Also love how they package their boxes.

I've been interested in the Soft Services buffing bar for a while and I really wish I'd tried it earlier — it's such a great product! I tend to get pretty bad ingrown hairs on my legs and my skin is easily irritated when shaving. This bar feels luxurious, and the banana leaf scent is really nice without being overpowering. I love that it foams up and feels like using a fancy bar soap, unlike many other exfoliators I've tried. It leaves my skin extra soft and helps me get a cleaner shave with less irritation. One tip: if you're getting the buffing bar, I'd invest in the dish as well. It's really well designed and seems to extend the life of the bar. I also tried the scented Theraplush hand treatment and it's the perfect remedy for dry hands. I've tried tons of different hand creams (Caudalie, Gold Bond, Neutrogena, etc.) and this one takes the cake! The dispenser is easy to use and I love how it looks on my nightstand. I'm getting one as a gift for my mom, it's the perfect way to elevate a daily routine!

I was so excited to see Soft Services on thingdrop- I had been wanting to try the buffing bar but was a little hesitant of the price tag. The unboxing was great- simple and w packaged. The buffing bar (blue) is much firmer feeling than a traditional bar of soap. Instructions say to use the buffing bar 1x /week/as needed, so I also got the ceramic soap dish to help it keep longer. It seems to be a quality, innovative product and I look forward to using it and hopefully experiencing its effectiveness!

TLDR - Buffing Bar feels worth it if you're really treating yourself with a fancy exfoliating bar, but at the end of the day, it's just a soap bar with tiny pumice-y granules. Theraplush is a great heavy moisturizer but it doesn't feel or have a greater effect than other heavy moisturizers and I don't see unique things about the formulation. -- I got the Buffing Bar and Theraplush via Thingtesing since I've never been able to fully stomach the retail cost for Soft Services things even though their marketing and virality really made me allllmost try many times. The Buffing Bar is very scrubby, definitely coarse and felt like it was scraping dead skin off, but the bar is less blue than it is the photos (not a big deal, but definitely part of the appeal) and there's nothing spectacular about the scent. Theraplush is a good heavy moisturizer, definitely something for end of the day, pre-bed routines since it doesn't absorb well and has a tacky consistency. Looking forward to using both more in the city winter.

I really like this product. The buffing bar has just the right amount of exfoliation and smells amazing. It is really easy to use. I will definitely purchase this buffing bar set again and would like to try the other scent!

I'm loving the Green Banana Buffing Bar. It's been helping alleviate the KP on my arms and it's great for pre-shaving too. It has just enough texture to slough off texture and dead skin, but it's also a super nourishing formula

Happy to report I've become a big softie. These products are special, and while yes, expensive, have become my go-to lotions and potions. The buffing bar in particular, because how many buffing bars does one really need? This one is delightful, though, because I can feel it working on my skin while being gentle enough that I don't feel raw after using it. Smoothing Solution and Speed Soak are very fun to use, I can literally feel my skin soaking up moisture. Both are gel-like formulations, but my skin isn't sticky after using them. I can feel the products are working and effective, because they leave my skin oh-so-soft to the touch, and the hydration honestly lasts for a long time. A little goes a long way. I'm obsessed with the Carea Cream, a unique formula that's more a liquid lotion than a thicker cream (see my expert hand modeling below), and it too soaks beautifully into my skin and leaves lasting hydration. The one product I might be iffy about repurchasing down the road is the Theraplush hand cream, which frankly is indeed beautiful hand cream, and I love the refillable system. I'm just glad the refills are cheaper than the initial investment. My hands get extra dry during the winter, so I'll be putting this to the test big-time later this year. Bonus points for all products I've used so far: None of the fragrance is overwhelming, more a hint of fragrance. I like wearing various perfumes, and these products will never clash. I also really appreciate the care with which each product was clearly made, as well as the wealth of knowledge shared by the brand. I received a cute and helpful "Software Update installation guide" email after purchasing the retinol product (smart because that's important stuff to know), and I loved the topic of a recent newsletter, which was a part III of their Foot Care Guide for hiking. The trifecta for me: excellent quality and formulations that do what they claim to, non-fussy and beautiful products, and education.

Before THINGTESTING I have never heard of this brand but it did not disappoint. Living in Mozambique with very dry sensitive skin (weird because there is lots of humidity), my ritual was a good bath soak weekly and a good buff on my legs specifically for ingrown hair. I use a pharmacy moisturizer but hate exfoliants (scrubs like sugar or broken shells). Before Soft Services using a Microcrystal Exfoliant was never a priority because the good ones have no scent and sometimes they do worse than good. Having ingrown hair on my lower legs and knees sucks big time because I see them and damn if I didn't see the difference after using this buffing bar. I used the bar while in the shower on my legs, knees, elbows and on my feet. It's a miracle. Since I'm not a pedicure person this bar had the same effect after a good daily soak (I've been travelling a lot so my feet ache). The best part should be the desired effect, however it's the combination of that with how easy it is to hold the bar, along with the scent (would be so awesome if the made a body lotion to go along with it) and damn if the soap dish isn't the most beautiful, aesthetic and functional thing I have ever seen. It was a beautiful surprise to find this limited edition of their buffing bar in Affogato L'Orange.

The Carea Cream is a magical combination of moisturizing, exfoliating and calming that works. Ever since middle age hit, there has been an increasing dullness to my skin. This is the perfect combo to bring back a more youthful brightness. I also bought the Smoothing Solution, having tried a deluxe sample of it already. It helped clear the annoying bumps on my legs and I'm looking forward to using it on elbows and knees now as well. Have used the Buffing Bar (original Blue) in the past which worked incredibly well and lasted forever. Very effective product line.

Soft Services has quickly become one of those brands I just trust (and I think this is why you should too). I started with the Theraplush Overnight Repair Treatment and have gone through both the original formula and the new Hold version. I love everything about it. It goes on thick but somehow never feels heavy, just really hydrating and comforting. My hands feels softer after using. The packaging is *chefs kiss*. It literally doesn’t even look like it holds medicated hand lotion! I keep one at my desk and another at my bedside because it has basically become a staple in my routine. Then there are the buffing bars, which honestly blew me away. I picked up Green Banana first and still can’t believe how spot on the scent is. It smells exactly like a green banana in the best way. The newest one, Affogato L’Orange, I think, is even better. It’s this wild mix of chocolate orange and espresso that makes me want to use it just for the scent alone (and I really hope others will give it a shot too). Beyond smelling amazing, the formula is wonderful. It exfoliates without ever leaving me scratched or irritated, just smooth skin that feels cared for. I have tried other buffing bars that literally hurt to use (like have left LITERAL scratches!! I want to name names but I’m being nice!), so this feels like a luxury. Overall, I adore everything I’ve tried from Soft Services. The quality, the attention to detail, the packaging… it all feels luxe but not pretentious, and it actually works. I’ve already gifted products to friends because it is the kind of brand you want to share with people. I am excited to see what else they release because so far it feels like they can’t miss.

I use the Soft Services Theraplush hand cream nightly. Originally, I purchased it for the incredibly cute packaging that looks great on my nightstand, but eventually got hooked because I noticed such a big difference in the appearance of my (previously raggedy) cuticles. I've tried a few other Soft Services products including the buffing bar which is an extraordinarily effective (bordering on too intense) exfoliant. I save mine for when my skin can use some particular TLC. As an aside - their packaging is beautiful and makes for a great and easy gift.

If you’re looking for serious exfoliation, definitely grab the Soft Services buffing bar. It will help scrub away all of your dead skin leaving you with soft and supple skin. The packaging is beautiful and I love the cute case to store it in.

Soft Services is a really cool brand. It's products are both innovated & results-driven, as well as luxurious & desirable. In my opinion that's a rare accomplishment. And Soft Services is relatively affordable compared to other brands in this bracket. The packaging was really luxe — it came wrapped like a present, with a really beautiful sturdy box inside. The jar itself looks just like the photos. The material is plastic, not really special but it is sturdy. (The cats have knocked it off the bedside table twice, and there are no scratches!) The cream itself is very smooth, easy to spread and apply. It dries down to a waxy, slightly sticky texture. This doesn't bother me. It's meant as a last-step-before-bed to trap moisture and seal it in. It's not meant to be a quick absorbing formula. But if this will bother you, be aware. In the morning my hands do not feel sticky at all. I got the "unscented" version, but we all know even unscented has a smell. It smells vaguely skin-like, waxy and lactonic. I think it's cozy. I've only been using it for a couple weeks, so I can't speak on the efficacy, but applying it nightly has become an enjoyable ritual. this would be a really lovely gift for someone, especially if you stock them up with some refills in advance. Note to Soft Services: I would like to see more flexibility to choose which color and which scent you want (right now, if you want the unscented cream, you're forced to get the yellow container, and the reverse).

My favorite everyday luxuries. I’ve been using the buffing bar religiously for about a year now and absolutely love it. It is the most effective exfoliating item I’ve ever owned. It is very coarse so may not be for the ultra sensitive but it will make your skin so soft. It also has a little lather to it and because it’s coarse it doesn’t slip around so you don’t have to worry about dropping it. It also lasts a decent amount of time even using it several days a week. The affogato scent is sooooo nice. Smells like orange creamsicle but is not overpowering. The hand lotion is new to me but I can’t rave about it enough. I love the component. Love the airless pump that ensures I get every bit of product out. It looks luxe on my nightstand. Love the magnetic lid and the divet on top for rings. The cream itself is a medium thickness but absorbs into my hands completely and doesn’t leave them greasy. Which has been a huge plus since I read in bed and don’t want pages getting grease spots. I’ve noticed my hands are softer and appear just nicer. They used to get really red during the day and they haven’t been lately. I highly recommend any product from Soft Services.

I have been wanting to try this brand for a while. Their exfoliating soap bars are popular and I was excited to be able to get their newest launch. But it is their hand serum that I have had my eye on. The packaging is really nice but I wish it held and came with a bit more product for the cost. I love that it is a refillable system to save on wasting packaging. This also was the nicest packaged order I have ever gotten. You can tell that they really take pride in boxing up your order!
