BAGGU
Experience
I love my Baggu bags. The only issue is they’re so multifunctional and long lasting that I shouldn’t buy more but I want to.
Tony's Chocolonely
Experience
The chocolate is so good but if you’re buying Tony’s for their slave-free chocolate commitment, their status is currently tainted because their distributor does use space labor..
Warby Parker
Experience
I’ve found that while Warby’s glasses selection is trendy and generally looks good, it’s not made for small or more delicate nose bridges (cough not inclusive). There are tons of other comparable services on the market now that have double the styles and come it at a more affordable price point
Paro
Experience
Got a bundle of the daal, kitchari, and tarka. All really easy to make and incorporate into my daily cooking, but the flavors got washed out easily and were hard to detect unless I ate them by themselves. I would love a punchier tarka!
Honey Mama's
Experience
These are expensive, but they're so good. They're like a rich, textured mousse. Flavors are deep and really well balanced.
Glossier
Experience
I've used the core Glossier make-up products on and off for a while, and while they're a good staple (esp cloud paint and bow brow), but there are so many better competitors who care about diversity, sustainability, and innovation.
Springer
Experience
Got the growler for a very thirsty pitty and it's holds so much more water than other similar bottles. I'm really surprised that more people in NYC aren't getting these for their multi-dog packs or other active dogs!
Aesop
Experience
Everything smells beautiful and deep. However, everything beyond fragrance, aesthetic, and clout isn't worth it. Functionally Aesop has better or equal competitors at much lower price points, but if you have money to burn and love the way they smell, it's hard to match.
Fur
Experience
I bought it for the packaging and have used it on and off for about a year. It smells good and is moisturizing, but not sure if I've ever noticed any difference in ingrowns or softness.
Homesick
Experience
Run of the mill scents wrapped in a genius marketing jar. The scents have strong throws but are a little cloying (like Yankee Candle or another common candle maker). The scents rarely correlate to the cities imho, but these are still great gifts if you don't know what to buy.
