  • Vivid, nostalgic flavors
  • Lower‑sugar candy formulas
  • Convenient portion packs
  • Vegan, plant‑based options
  • Extremely sticky texture
  • Inconsistent chew quality
  • Notable sweetener aftertaste
  • Potential gi discomfort

SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

  • Smart sweets are a nice healthier alternative to the traditional candy

The only issue that I have with smart sweets are the artificial sugars. They are also very sticky.

  • one of the first brands to start doing low sugar sweets in this way and now a lot have followed suit. however, the amount of fiber in their products never leaves my stomach feeling too great, and the watermelon gummy ones once were so sticky i could not finish the bag

  • Great tasting sweets to satisfy that sweet tooth. I personally love the small package size because it helps stop me from over indulging.

  • they are overly sticky, but still decent to chew on if you're looking for sweets

  • Love these! Not a huge candy person but amazing when I want a sweet treat in a pinch.

  • I love these!! They aren't crazy expensive and I don't feel bad about eating them. Thank you SmartSweets! I do wish that none of them had gelatin.

  • Gotta be careful eating these, having more than a serving or two will cause an upset stomach. I wouldn't really say they can completely replace gummy candies either but they're a good alternative to have every once in a while

  • I'm not a huge candy fan but I tried these when I needed a snack and the taste is pretty good! Love the low sugar content but didn't love how they stick to your teeth. May buy again if I get a craving but probably not

  • On the lookout for good vegetarian, gelatin free gummy candy but these were not it. Extremely chewy in an unpleasant way and not flavorful at all.

  • So far of ones I've tried, my favorite of these are the Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, and Sweet Fish (in that order). Beware though: some of the gummies really stick to your teeth, so chew lightly!

  • I always think they are going to taste better each flavor I've tried, but they all end up with that fake sugar taste. I like some, but just do not think this is for me. May be good for those who can't have a lot of sugar in large doses, like diabetics or children!

  • Wanted to love. The packaging and concept are so good. Flavor falls short and leaves a bad taste in your mouth that tastes artificial even though it's not.

Candies get hard and stuck together.

  • If you are in a pickle - these were one of those things that hit the spot without the commitment level of total sugar candy. Unfortunately, the aftertaste that lingered tasted artificial and was a bit of a letdown.

  • These are pretty good! They don't taste super fake sugary which is good. I just hate how small the package is for the price. I do enjoy these though on occasion.

    Do compostable packaging!!

  • Delicious. Especially like the peach rings. Sometimes a little too chewy.

  • Some are way better than others! Im not a huge candy fan to start out with so I usually will just grab normal candy. I really like these Swedish fish.

    Feedback

The peach rings I kept eating but they were pretty waxy in consistency.

  • I love Smartsweets so much! As someone who is actively trying to cutdown on sugar intake but has a massive sweet tooth, Smartsweets has been a game changer for me. My fav are the fish & cola bottles!
