SmartSweets earns positive reviews for genuinely tasty, low‑sugar takes on nostalgic gummies like Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, and Red Twists; it satisfies cravings and often avoids “fake” sweetener aftertaste. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: many candies are extremely sticky or tough, flavors can be inconsistent with occasional stevia/allulose aftertaste and GI upset, and portions feel small. Overall, SmartSweets is good if cutting sugar, but texture quirks and formula variability make it a compromise for purists.
I have trying to reduce my sugar as you find it in just about everything these days. I do like a sweet treat every now and then so finding candy that has such low sugar is a win for me. These are by no means the best candy in the world, but a good alternative.
I tried their Tropical Sours Gummy Candy and I was not a fan. The sour taste was more like a rancid kind of flavor. The sweetness was pretty much nonexistent and the nutrition was nothing to rave about. All in all, for the nutrition value and price point, I don't think these gummies are worth it. Just eat regular gummies or if you want something healthy have some fruit, not this weird in-between snack that doesn't satisfy either desire.
SmartSweets used to be my go-to for a low-sugar gummy, especially the Sourmelon Bites because I love a watermelon candy, but the new "improved" recipe just doesn’t hit the same. The texture isn't as satisfying. Still a decent option if you’re avoiding sugar, but definitely not what it used to be.
These are possibly my favorite low-sugar snacks. I love how they incorporate fun flavors that normally would be full of sugar and calories and give a better option. I also like that they are run by women. The price is a bit higher but well worth it.
