Reviews mention

  • Potent bond-repair technology
  • Luxurious clean fragrance
  • Highly concentrated formulas
  • Effective brass-neutralizing pigment
  • Inconsistent results across hair
  • Potentially drying formulas
  • Heavy feel on fine hair
  • Staining purple pigment

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

  • I've tried the N3, and I loved it at first, until I realized it started drying out my hair. Ended up throwing it away. Would not retry it at all. Also used the hair oil, and it made my hair greasy and heavy even when using just a smidge and only for the ends.

  • I've used Olaplex at various points in my life but never loved the products enough to repurchase immediately when I run out.

  • I love this stuff. I wish it were a bit cheaper, but I do find that every time I use it my hair feels really nice. I especially like the conditioner.

  • On the high end side but I think it works for me, help my hair stronger

  • I use Olaplex hair and N3 regularly. My hair is so shiny and smooth, there's been a noticeable difference since I started using Olaplex products

  • New to this product after reading reviews. Initially I thought it was too expensive, however after taking the plunge, this shampoo is excellent, particularly for drying hair and hair that is turning grey. My hair looks and feels the best it has in years

  • My hair is definitely smoother and appears healthier. Takes out the brassiness. It does not weigh my hair down either (my hair is fine and straight)

  • Olaplex has become a love-hate product but let's be clear -- this is NOT meant to be used every day. Olaplex 3, which I would recommend wholeheartedly, is something I use once a month because I have thin hair.

  • Not every product for every day, but best for those after DIY home hair dye sessions.

  • I splurge on the reconstructor 1-2 times a year when my hair is super fried, and it helps every time. I have tried the more preventative products (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in) and they were nice, but did not provide the level of results to make it seem worth the price. I will continue with the treatments as needed.

    REALLY expensive

  • Olaplex No. 3 is lifechanging. I honestly didn't even really understand what the product was intended to do until I tried it. Your hair will be a fully different texture, so soft and luscious.

The hardest part is waiting the 10 minutes for the product to work!

Price point could be lower, also more ingredient transparency plz

  • Olaplex is UNREAL! I color my hair regularly and have for years, which takes its toll for sure. I started using Olaplex about 4 months ago and have been blown away by the way my hair has improved since then. I use the full bonding system and it leaves my hair silky-smooth and frizz-free, not to mention more manageable overall. I've even seen an improvement in growth. LOVE it.

  • These have made a world of difference making my hair nice and soft again

  • ✨ Obsessed with my hair's new best friend: Olaplex No. 7 Bonding Oil! ✨ I can’t get over how shiny and soft it makes my locks feel without weighing them down. A few drops are all it takes to tame frizz, add incredible shine, and protect against heat styling. Plus, it's perfect for any hair type! Whether I'm wearing my hair natural or styling up a storm, this little bottle of magic has got me covered. It's like liquid gold for your strands—have you tried it yet? Let me know your thoughts below! 💛

  • This is a great brand. My daughter & I do a lot of color swapping- now she’s more highlighted & has snagged the bottle for her blonde. She’s using the purple. It works great & doesn’t make her hair look greasy like another product that we both tried. It’s worth the value but was hoping for a larger bottle last Amazon purchase.

  • OLAPLEX is a game-changer for anyone looking to restore and protect their hair! Their bond-building products truly work wonders, transforming my damaged hair into something soft, shiny, and healthy. I’ve been using the No. 3 Hair Perfector and the No. 4 Shampoo, and the difference has been incredible—my hair feels stronger, looks more vibrant, and is so much more manageable. The formula is gentle but super effective, and I love that it works on all hair types, not just for those with specific textures or concerns. If you’ve been struggling with damaged or compromised hair, OLAPLEX is the solution you’ve been searching for—it truly lives up to the hype!

  • Olaplex is a total game-changer for damaged hair! After using the No.3 Hair Perfector and No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, my hair has never felt softer, smoother, or healthier. It works wonders on dry, brittle strands, leaving them strong and shiny. What I love most is how Olaplex actually repairs damage instead of just masking it. Whether you’ve over-processed your hair or just need some TLC, this brand delivers real results. Bonus: a little product goes a long way, so it’s totally worth the investment. If you want salon-quality hair at home, Olaplex is your new best friend. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to transform their hair!

  • The oil smells SO good and its the only oil that really keeps me hair shiny throughout the day. I have been through at least 6 little bottles already. Worth the money.

  • I tried the main bond restoring treatment that you use in conjunction with a spray. I didn’t work for me. Not only it did not strengthen the hair, it was also limp and flat after every use. I also thought the splay smells like wet dog. I switched to a different brand and my hair looks and feels great.
