OLAPLEX Reviews

4.1

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: many report visibly stronger, smoother, shinier hair—especially with No.3 Hair Perfector, No.6 Bond Smoother, No.7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo—while others experience dryness, heaviness, greasiness, or no lasting improvement. Reviews suggest it can work brilliantly for bleached/blonde or damaged hair but may weigh down fine hair and effects may fade without consistent use; some users also mention fragrance concerns and allegations of hair loss or irritation.

  • love this oil, which opened me up to the brand overall. high-quality and seem to really make a difference in my hair health. you only need a few shakes of the oil to apply to lengths of damp hair, so it lasts a while.

  • I think everyone can agree that Olaplex smells amazing. This shampoo actually gives more than you'd think and even a small dollop can produce so much shampoo and conditioning in the shower. I definitely feel a difference when using the shampoo for my dry hair.

  • OLAPLEX No.5 Leave In Moisture and Mend Leave-In Conditioner is a great staple piece to keep around and in your travel bag. It could easily be used daily or with each shampoo if you need an extra layer of conditioner and repair cream. I prefer to use mine after applying a glaze to my hair. The glaze doesn’t have as nice of a finish-feel as freshly conditioned hair, so I use it as a finishing touch and it works really well. I haven’t used many OLAPLEX products, but this has been a good place to start!

  • I have tried so many hair oils over the past 10 years. I have tons of favorites tons of hits and tons of misses and I would say that this hair oil falls in between a lot of categories. If you have oily fine hair similar to myself this oil is just super light. It’s lightweight goes on and dries very quickly so that’s nice but I don’t notice the bonding properties that are supposed to happen with it. It’s supposed to reduce frizz and flyaways, and Is a heat protector up to 450°. You would have to use a ton of this oil for it to be a real heat protector so I don’t count it for that and I don’t notice a ton of reduced frizz.
