Reviews mention

  • Potent bond-repair technology
  • Luxurious clean fragrance
  • Highly concentrated formulas
  • Effective brass-neutralizing pigment
  • Inconsistent results across hair
  • Potentially drying formulas
  • Heavy feel on fine hair
  • Staining purple pigment

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

  • I LOVE OLAPLEX and swear by its bond maintenance shampoo and conditioner. I have very fine hair which has began to thin as I reach my mid-twenties -- I can see a significant difference in not only hair growth, but in preventing breakage. No more split ends for this girl! This stuff smells good, feels good and DOES good.

  • I’m a hairdresser and I love all of these products for myself and my guests.

    Works for OLAPLEX
  • I have thin hair and have been using the Oloplex Bond # 3 once a week before washing my hair. I really feel like it makes it thicker and healthier with more volume and better texture. I look forward to trying more of their products Ike their hair serum.

  • I have been using this product for 6 months; definitely see a difference,

  • I have tried 3, 4 & 6. It does work, but I have found other products to work better with my medium wavy hair.

  • I love how creamy the texture is and it does seem to make my hair a bit softer but not noticing long-term benefits for the price point.

  • Have tried a range of products, and the No. 4, No. 5, No. 7 are standards in my routine for its fresh scent and keeping my hair soft and healthy. Only con is how pricey it is but I can usually make the products last a while.

  • I used to love all their products but feel like there are better choices on the market

  • I received this as a gift and fell in love, this will be my new go to product

  • I tried to love Olaplex, but I don't. It does nothing to my hair despite trying different techniques and watching different tutorials on socials. I tried it on bleached hair, I tried it on my natural hair - nothing! I tried pretty much every product and the only one that I liked was the oil.

  • The best hair care products made for blondes, sure that you won’t be disappointed!!!

    Proud customer
  • A Sephora rep recommended this for my fine wavy hair. Not for me but… huge but…. Very high quality and smells amazing! Just not for my hair.

  • This last year I went from having black hair to platinum blonde and this definitely saved my hair. I love all their products I just wish they weren’t so expensive.

  • I used and loved Olaplex from the beginning on but I think other brands and products have replaced it as THE holy grail in the meantime. I loved No 1 and 2 (the salon ones) and No 8 is a great mask. But I have the feeling that all other Nr are just diluted versions of these and are therefore rather unnecessary. The shampoos are too harsh for my colored hair.

  • I tried their number 5 shampoo and wasn't super impressed for the price. It felt better than most drug store shampoos I've used but I didn't see a huge difference in my hair health and it didn't help my scalp health much.

  • I tried their shampoo and bond maintenance conditioner recently; they both made my hair softer, but I don't think the results were as dramatic as claimed. It's also pretty pricey and I go through it very quickly as someone who washes my hair at least every other day. I would very happily use it again if it were given to me as a gift, but I'm currently using cheaper alternatives that I feel work just as well.

  • I like this brand. Their scents are really nice and I’m obsessed with the scent of no. 7. I’ve tried no. 4-7. Did it make noticeable improvements to my hair? No, I don’t think so. Is it still decent shampoo/conditioner? Sure.

  • Not my favorite. Although I risk results seem promising over months my hair dries out with regular use. The condition treatment causes me to have breakouts.

  • Mixed feelings on this brand and products! My salon uses this and it is such a luxurious experience. However, the fragrance is extremely strong and gives me a headache. My hair feels really good after the salon but the price point doesn’t feel right to adopt at home for every day use.
