Magic Spoon largely satisfies those seeking a healthier, high‑protein, low‑sugar riff on nostalgic cereals, according to reviews, but it is not universally loved. Reviewers praise its 13g protein per serving, gluten‑free/grain‑free formulas, fun flavors like Fruity, Cocoa, Cinnamon Roll, and Maple Waffle, and cheerful packaging; common complaints cite an artificial or stevia/monk‑fruit aftertaste, gummy texture that sticks to teeth, flavor inconsistency (especially some chocolate/peanut butter variants), limited satiety for some, and very small, pricey boxes.

  • While there are some funky aftertastes in some flavors (cinnamon roll in my experience), these are super innovative and great to squeeze in nutrients in the morning with out the grains or sugar.

I do not recommend the bars though. Very dry and large aftertastes

  • I absolutely love cereal, and where this does not taste like your regular breakfast cereals, if you’re looking for something with greater nutritional value, I highly recommend.

  • I have been wanting to try this cereal for a while now, but have held off because of how expensive it is. $39 for 4 boxes means it is almost $10 a box. Yes, the website says it's less than $2 a bowl, but I am not the biggest fan of cereal so that is a big price to ask when box prices are usually so much cheaper. But recently I got my hands on a single-serve cup of the Frosted flavor. And let me just say, I kinda loved it. I am expecting the worst when it comes to anything trendy in the food world because I can be so picky, especially when something touts itself as healthy. Usually, taste is sacrificed for health benefits, and I would rather enjoy myself for now. But the Frosted flavor of this cereal was surprisingly tasty, it had a very sweet flavor that was unlike anything I had eaten before but I really liked it. It did stick to my mouth a bit but I was fine with that. If you want to give this cereal a shot, I definitely recommend buying the 8-pack single-serve cups on Amazon. It is a cheaper up-front price and you get to sample a bunch of flavors. I am now on the Magic Spoon hype train, though I can't say I will be getting more soon due to the price.

Could definitely use a price decrease for the full-sized box.

  • I had the cocoa flavor - overall I thought it was great- I usually enjoy cereal dry so it was a perfect snack to take to work when I felt the need to munch on something. However I didn’t really enjoy the texture when I had it with milk + the aftertaste - the texture felt slippery and somewhat grainy. If you’re able to get over that, I think it’s quite nice to have a slight sweet snack that isn’t too carb heavy!

The mouth texture and I wish I didn’t have to buy 4 boxes at once

  • I buy boxes of this regularly, this is the best tasting keto cereal I've tried.

  • Absolutely love this cereal and cannot recommend it enough. I have a bowl every day for breakfast and I recommend trying the cocoa flavor. Their limited flavors are also really good!

    Feedback

I wish they offered more single serve boxes but otherwise I love the cereal.

  • Fruity is fruity, it’s a very high quality product but for an affordable price and my family really liked it, I will try and gift this forward over the holidays as a great gift or stocking stuffer for yall

  • I like the concept, but at the end of the day the product still has the protein-powder tang of many protein-supplemented foods - the aftertaste registers as “hmm this is not real food”. I tried four different kinds, but had the same experience with all of them. Also very expensive, relative to other protein product options.

  • A nostalgic treat with a modern, high-protein twist. Some flavors taste artificial, but it’s a solid pick if you’re watching macros. Crunchy and satisfying, though a bit pricey for everyday use. Great for a guilt-free cereal fix, though. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • Great way to get your protein without realizing it. Happy it doesn't use stevia! I like the variety of flavors. It does get soggy, so eat it quickly! Wish it wasn't $10 a box though.

  • I recently tried the sample pack of Magic Spoon Cereal and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. While the concept and nutritional profile are impressive, I just couldn’t get past the aftertaste. Each flavor had a noticeable lingering taste that I found off-putting. Despite the initial appeal, I struggled to finish the servings. It might work for others, but for me, the aftertaste was a deal-breaker.

  • I tried this once a long time ago (thanks to a Pod Save ad). Wasn't a huge fan, and I've since tried to cut out dairy, which is in all of the flavors so I don't think I'll be trying it again.

  • If you've GOT to have cereal and miss those highly-processed flavors of your youth, this is definitely the better way to go. The nostalgia runs through everything from the packaging, the branding to the flavors themselves. Delicious!

  • I love me a food product that’s nutritionally conscious and allergy friendly, but also doesn’t taste like cardboard. Magic Spoon hits all the high notes for me, with substantially less sugar than other brands and zero gluten content. How gluten-free, you wonder? Though I just have a gluten sensitivity, my celiac friends can easily enjoy a bowl with no issue. The Fruity flavor is my favorite, and the coloring comes from vegetable juices rather than artificial dyes! Also, the protein content is no joke. 12-13g per bowl? Super convenient for when I don’t have time to scramble an egg or cook sausage, but need that protein craving satisfied. Only four stars since it can be pretty expensive, and I’m a sucker for accessibility.

  • I've tried many low-carb cereals, and my biggest issue with other brands is texture. Magic Spoon is by far the best and has em all beat, imo. Their cereal is airy and doesn't feel gravely or too hard like most low-carb cereals can be. Flavor-wise it's pretty great too. My favorite is their cinnamon roll!

Much like other brands however, this still does get real stuck to your teeth.

  • Love the brand and packaging, but didn’t feel like the flavor profile was for me - it was very, very sweet

  • Finally a healthy alternative for cereal lovers with a great variety of flavors. Awesome to have a “build your own” variety pack option

  • I got caught with the cute branding and, unfortunately, it's the only good thing about this product. To be fair I only tried the peanut butter cereal but I certainly won't be trying anymore. Insanely expensive for the amount of food you receive and the one I had essentially tasted like Cheerios covered in protein powder. Had high hopes but ended up being really disappointed.

  • I love the flavors and the clean ingredients just wish the price was lower
