Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Literally so gross. I want to love this because I am a sucker for packaging, and their packaging hits it out of the ballpark, but damn, the taste makes you want to wash your mouth out with soap. Overall, if you're gluten-free, look elsewhere.

  • I really like the taste of Banza and the texture, but I stopped buying the brand when I read about the high levels of heavy metals in their pasta. I really hope it's not true or, if it is true, that they will address it and fix it.

  • I have recently tried out the BANZA brand of pasta and I love the taste. I enjoy that this pasta is healthy and nutritious and knowing that I am eating a well prepared meal for dinner.

  • This was not good. I wanted it to be good but the texture was dry and a bit cardboard like

  • i love the protein aspect but it definitely TASTES like added protein powder (grainy, offputting texture, rubbery, cooks kinda funny), but is an adequate pasta substitute if there's a great sauce.

  • Rubbery, poorly flavored, disintegrated easily. Very, very distinguishable from durum wheat pasta. I wanted to love it, but instead it was so bad that I'm loathe to try other pasta alternatives for the foreseeable future.

  • Great brand. I haven’t had anything from Banza that I haven’t liked. My very picky eaters can never tell the difference from this vs other options.

  • Not for people with Irritable bowel syndrome :( The taste was great but if you suffer with belly discomfort i would not recommend these products

  • Really yummy and high in protein/fiber. Definitely not a replacement for pasta whatsoever but a veryyy good healthy meal option!

  • I enjoy eating this pasta. It is high in protein and not mushy. My 3 year old daughter can not tell the difference from regular pasta.I also enjoy that it is on sale often so its a good value for filling you up .

  • I'm from NYC so I was born a pizza snob. Tried the 4 cheese and marinara and honestly wasn't too bad! Kinda reminded me of school lunch pizza but in the best way possible... I typically stay away from frozen pizzas (Again, I'm from NYC. I can get a dollar slice) But this is a good healthy alternative. I can imagine keeping it in the freezer for a quick snack.

  • It honeslty taste just like regular pasta, there is no difference (unless you’re talking about fresh authentic pasta because that is in its own category). Do I feel better about eating Banas over regular pasta, absolutely. I do though have a friend who is a nutritionist and the macros apparently anything to fantastic, but for someone who doesn’t care about macros, it’s a nice option to swap and get more protein. 10/10 recommend the pasta. The pizza on the other hand, not the greatest. I thinks maybe it’s the texture and it’s a little tough, or maybe it’s that I lived in Connecticut for a bit and was a 10 min drive to New Haven which is the pizza capital of America and my standards are high? I don’t know. But do love the idea and the brand.

  • As a bit of a pasta monster, I obviously had to give Banza a try. They are definitely the best alt-pasta I've tried, by a long shot! For some reason, reheating the pasta as next-day leftovers was not great. Their pizza crust has become my go-to. It's filling and flavorful. Don't go into expecting to not know you're not eating regular dough or crust and you'll be pleasantly surprised! It is a little pricey but the cute packaging is hard to resist sometimes.
