The Reformation wins praise in reviews for flattering, event-ready dresses, chic silhouettes, and a standout tech-enabled in‑store fitting experience, yet the brand draws sustained criticism for inconsistent sizing, thin or unlined fabrics, and quality that often fails to match its reputation. Reviews describe great jeans and timeless styles alongside complaints of shrinking, pilling, and poor construction, plus fit skewed toward tall/slim bodies and frequent frustrations with returns and customer service—making it a try‑in‑person, piece‑by‑piece proposition.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
I feel like reformation is more hype than its worth. The clothes are cute but often fit poorly and are really expensive for the quality.

better quality for the amount of money they are charging
The one brand that makes me look fantastic! I don’t know how they manage to make a simple spaghetti strap top that helps make me shine so much but they do it. I also love their in store experience where it’s kind of a show room with a order things to your dressing room via screen experience. And I like the tote bags they give you your purchase in! I also like that they have ver clear descriptions of what their products are (fabric, color etc.) and I love their mission!

When I last went to shop in person, a lot of the size 8 and up were sold out so that was disappointing but might be due to the supply chain issues. Otherwise I love it - make more linen pieces they are INCREDIBLE!
Some very cute styles at decent price points.

Bought a white shirt, and the label says no washing, no drying, no ironing, no dry cleaning... is this a single use product?
So I really enjoyed the fitting room experience at their boutique in San Francisco! It was a long wait to get a fitting room but once you're there you communicate via iPad the items that you want to try, and in a few minutes, the iPad signals that the two-way cabinet in the fitting room has the clothes you need. Very high tech, high touch. I also like that the clothes are surprisingly flattering for my curvy body shape.
I love their focus on sustainability, and they have a unique style compared to most clothing brands in the sustainability world. Though I haven't had good luck with some of their basics. Their tencel t-shirts are see-through and I've experienced pilling. I can't entirely trust their quality, but I'm still intrigued.

Obsessed with this brand, but the price point is very high. Perfect dresses for weddings & special occassions

I love the styles but I’m not sure I’ve found a single thing that fits me properly. The sizing also seems whack.
Cut is the best.

I tend to really like the styles that Reformation produces but I find the quality to be lacking for the price point and it's not size inclusive.

I just purchased my first Ref article and I love it! True to size, high quality and absolutely stunning. I love that they have a clear commodity chain and they even have a program partnership with ThredUp, which was a great surprise when I opened my package. I am definitely looking forward to purchasing more from this brand.
Lots of things to say about Ref: 1. The greenwashing is on another level. Nothing about this is sustainable. 2. LOVE the designs, however, 3. They are really not size inclusive. For starters, they run ridiculously small. Like, small enough to give someone body dysmorphia. Also, speaking specifically of the dresses, they clearly aren't tested on larger models or even anyone above an A cup size lol-- there will be no room for boobs. 4. The quality is GARBAGE. For the price point I would expect the clothing to feel better than the stuff that comes out of forever 21.
I recently purchased a dress from Reformation, and I absolutely love it! The design is beautiful, and it fits perfectly, making me feel fantastic when I wear it. However, I do find the price to be quite high for what the dresses are. While I appreciate their commitment to sustainability and ethical fashion, I can't help but feel that the cost could be more reasonable given the simplicity of some styles. Overall, I’m thrilled with my dress, but the pricing does give me pause when considering future purchases.

I have to admit this was a one time try Jan 2020. I purchased "the lawrence" dress with a slit. I am 5'4". This slit SHOWED EVERYTHING - now I just looked it up on their website and it now states "very high slit" but I even think that's an understatement. Also their sizing is very off, I swear the 6 fit like a 2 (I have since gone up in size, and this has contributed to not trying them again). The returns were straightforward. All this confusion aside, I think at their price point they can do better, I do appreciate sustainability efforts (but still check the fabrics). Maybe I'll try again one day.
They have such good styles, and the clothing is sustainable. I do wish it wasn’t that such a high price point, but I do understand.
I've bought and/or considered buying Reformation many times but each time I don't really love the pieces and they don't stay in my closet for long. I think their prices are way too high for some pieces and their sizing isn't always consistent. I love their marketing though!
Reformation is one of my fave brands when it comes to designs and sustainability. But it frankly is too expensive for what it is. I’ve had fabrics start pilling and wear out early on. I try to buy natural fabrics such as cotton and cashmere. The cashmere quality was below average. But I just return faulty pieces and only had good customer service experience with this. I do hope they use the feedback for future quality improvements. I never really liked any store experience due to overwhelmed staff, limited selection and limited changing room capacity. Online orders worked great. Sizing was consistent for me.
Cute clothes but the quality just does not hold up for the prices. I wish they were more size inclusive and had better return policies as well. I understand that their production is one of the "most eco friendly" in the industry, but still doesn't feel right.
Very high quality clothes that fit perfectly. Love the dresses for special occassions.

Too expensive! Understand it costs more to create sustainable clothing, but I wish there were more sales and lower price options because I love all of the clothing and designs.

The prints and designs are SO cute! However, the sizing is so inconsistent. Even among the same style of dress with two different colors.

Standardize sizes or provide specific measurements by style. Fabrics tend to wrinkle easily.
Reformation runs small. Their clothes are really trendy and cute but the fit is not consistent throughout the line. The prices are also high compared to what you get.
