The Reformation wins praise in reviews for flattering, event-ready dresses, chic silhouettes, and a standout tech-enabled in‑store fitting experience, yet the brand draws sustained criticism for inconsistent sizing, thin or unlined fabrics, and quality that often fails to match its reputation. Reviews describe great jeans and timeless styles alongside complaints of shrinking, pilling, and poor construction, plus fit skewed toward tall/slim bodies and frequent frustrations with returns and customer service—making it a try‑in‑person, piece‑by‑piece proposition.

i love reformation’s shopping experience but honestly price to quality ratio just doesn’t do it for me… i think i’m better off buying it from thrift stores
Some designs are nice but I feel like it is super overpriced and the quality isn't that high either. I've had better luck buying off 2nd hand or their sample sales. Their in-person shopping experience is interesting but I was able to have a good experience with the Sales person.

i saved up to buy one of their midi/maxi on me dresses (the juliette) and waited till they had their rare sitewide sale to buy it. it went back as soon as i recieved it. the size is incredibly inconsistent, if you have any type of boob and are more than a size 6, i would stay away from this brand. it gives 'brandy melville's older sister' vibes. it used to be the pinnacle of dress shops but now it's a cheap shadow of itself. i don't recommend anything from there.
Reformation is well-known for its trendy and eco-friendly fashion, offering styles that capture the essence of modern, effortless chic. Their commitment to sustainability is commendable, using eco-conscious materials and production practices. However, the price point often feels steep, especially considering the materials and quality. While the designs are undeniably cool, the cost may not always justify what you're getting in terms of durability and fabric. For those prioritizing style and sustainability, it's a notable brand, but it might not suit budget-conscious shoppers looking for longevity.
Overpriced but I feel good wearing it because their stuff is thoughtful. I’ll pay the premium on a basic when it fits like a glove!
I have two reformation tops and they are super comfy. I bought them both at sale at Anthropologie. There is no way I would buy them full price, but I would totally recommend if you can get it on sale. They are great quality.
I know everyone goes to Reformation for their dresses but they are simply not worth it. It's not lined, it's polyester (itchy), and it's designed for a specific figure (tall, skinny, not me). If you're paying $200 for a dress, it should at least be comfortable. I have, however, gotten some really good basic pieces from Reformation over the years! The key is to find a cut that works and then really stock up on that piece. The muse tee is my go to summer top. I have it in too many colors. Their denim is fantastic. I also have some linen shorts from them that I love.
I have a legit love-hate with reformation. Their sizing is the most inconsistent i've experienced in the entirety of my life. The quality of the pieces are also subpar and walmart-esque on some products, but the marketing is so phenomenal i've been suckered into giving some items a chance knowing i won't like the fit/fabric of certain styles. The love comes in with the maxi-dresses. I have about four different dresses from reformation, which i will never get rid of and make me look amazing. I would strongly recommend going to store to try things on (e.g. short dresses are like children's sizing) and taking not of the fabrics you like.

Quality pieces (and priced as such) + quality on-site and in-store experiences!
Their clothes are so pretty and I love that they’re sustainable, but run small and the fit is difficult. I’ve sort of given up, unfortunately. I wish I could wear their clothes! I do recommend giving them a try—and ordering up a size.
I am a Reformation girlie. I love all of their dress styles and they are one of the few brands that their styles, cuts and sizes fit me consistently. Some pieces can be a little $$$ but good to know that they're environmentally friendly so I'd rather spend the extra money knowing it's doing some good. There customer service - both online and in stores - has always been lovely and efficient too. Can't say I've ever had a bad experience with their brand!

I love reformation…usually! And for items that aren’t super fitted. The fit is all over the place. I’m a medium/size 8 typically and sometimes that fits great with Ref and other times I literally can’t get my arm in the sleeve (silk button up) and other times it’s big. Thankful they have a good return policy and a local store I love going to. Their sales are really great except that they are usually final sale and that’s scary bc of above fit issues. They have also price matched an item for me after it went WAY on sale a week or so after I bought it. Some of their items are super high quality and others are an unlined thin mess. I’m happy to pay more for a sustainable company but they could be so much better. Lots of pros and cons.

Their dresses look/fit amazing on everyone I know but their fabrics aren't great quality, especially given the price.

Fabric quality & clothing longevity.
poor quality and sizing is a joke
In my opinion, Ref does dresses really well but not much else. Love the Nikita dress but their basics are overpriced for the quality based on my experience.
Reformation is generally pretty good - the pieces are timeless and chic but the sizing can be inconsistent depending on the material. The lower-priced range never seems as high quality as the regular dress range, which has disappointed some customers.

Not sure I'm a fan of their stuff beyond the dresses and some of the separates — I like their original stuff that they are best known for!
They have some very cute summer dresses, in general I like their design. They did start to use diverse models, but I'm not so sure how I feel about their inclusiveness yet, because I feel their design is mostly for tall and skinny body types.

The sizing varies a lot across their range, which makes online shopping very difficult.

Honestly I love the products I already own. I wear them, get a lot of compliments, and they've lasted me a while so far (quality holds for a few years). While I love what I own, I won't be buying more. I currently live 1/2 block from a Ref store and they have great merchandising in the store but the styles are pretty repetitive, the company has had problems with inclusivity, and the prices are SO expensive for what it is. I've also had bad experiences with sales. I received an email that as a VIP I had first access to the sale (which made me feel special, I bought stuff). Then a few days later the sale launched for everyone else and the prices were 15-25% cheaper? That did NOT feel VIP.

Ugh, I love Reformation—their pieces are so beautiful and feminine, and they really nail flattering silhouettes. That said, while I appreciate their commitment to sustainability, I do think they’re seriously overpriced. I usually only shop there when I need something for a special event. The quality just doesn’t always match the price tag, which is a bit disappointing

I wanted to write off Reformation as overly expensive, but then I tried their jeans and had to accept that there’s a reason people are willing to pay for their products. Their denim is fantastic quality and holds up well - I’ve had a few pairs for over three years and they don’t look that different from when I bought them. Of course, their dresses are where they really shine. I always get so many compliments when I go out in a Reformation dress. I love that they do numbered sizes in most of their dresses (including plus size in many items) rather than S/M/L/etc for a better, more tailored fit.
