The Reformation Reviews

3.3

The Reformation wins praise in reviews for flattering, event-ready dresses, strong denim, and a tech-forward in‑store fitting experience, but the brand is polarizing: many cite inconsistent sizing, thin or unlined fabrics, and poor customer service. Reviews indicate the brand can look and feel great when the cut and fabric hit, yet concerns about size inclusivity and quality control temper enthusiasm.

  • Style-wise, this brand can be a bit hit or miss for me, but the pieces I’ve kept from Reformation—mostly their more classic basics—have been great quality and have held up really well over the years. I also really appreciate their sustainability efforts. Some of my favorite pieces include a chunky cardigan I’ve had for years, and a one-piece swimsuit I bought this past summer with thin straps. It felt really elegant and chic, and the quality was exactly what I was hoping for.

  • I purchased the Eli linen shirt and matching shorts for a vaction (granted last August). I have the proof of purchase. Having only worn it once on vacation last summer, I had it professionally cleaned as the set cost me well over $300! When I picked it up from my trusted cleaner, I put it away in its plastic wrap. When I opened it up to use for the season, i notice awful red stitching markers around the pocket and at the cuff buttons. It is not wearable. There would have been some fabric shrinkage that now exposed all of the red lines. The shirt retails for over $200 plus tax. I contacted the store where I purchased it and I was told that they had a similar issue with a cardigan.I was asked to contact their "love" team who told me because of the length of time, I was out of luck. It is 100% a manufacturing flaw that was present when I purchased it and they know it, yet I lose over $300 ( can't really wear the shorts alone) because they won't back their flaws! Reformation is not a cheap store, but their service, accountability, and products are awful!

  • I've been shopping at Reformation for about five years, and I used to feel that my splurge was justified by the sophisticated, youthful, and high-quality clothing. Lately, however, I've been consistently disappointed. The quality has taken a nosedive while the prices have only continued to increase. What's most frustrating is the disconnect with their "sustainable" marketing. It's hard to accept the "slow fashion" label when garment tags show a high percentage of polyester and a dismal amount of natural fibers.

  • I really love Reformation's styles, but find the quality to be hit or miss. One major critique I have is that their clothing is not well structured. It looks lovely on the models, but really doesn't disguise anything on a normal body.
