Reviews mention

  • Soft cloudknit fabric loungewear
  • Durable rectrek pants construction
  • Playful, distinctive colorways
  • Thoughtful pockets and details
  • Inconsistent, unreliable sizing
  • Stiff, slipping leggings performance
  • Sweat‑showing, thick fabrics
  • Variable durability in seams

Outdoor Voices earns mixed reviews: the brand delivers soft, durable lounge and athleisure standouts like CloudKnit joggers, RecTrek pants, and the iconic Exercise Dress, but performance pieces—especially many leggings and some bras—feel stiff, slip, or show sweat, and sizing runs inconsistent. Reviews of Outdoor Voices also flag variable quality and fit (plus-size and petite needs unmet), while praising unique colorways, thoughtful details (pockets, adjustable straps), and long-wearing fleece and basics; great for everyday movement and errands, less reliable for high‑intensity workouts.

  • Love the idea of Outdoor voices and the cool innovative products however the price is very expensive for active wear and you can find the same products at GAP

  • Love outdoor voices. A friend commented that their mission is moving your body - a push away from an expectation that moving your body is a specific way (which a lot of activewear companies do). They have a lot of fun twists on classic activewear and loungewear items. Will continue to shop there!!

  • I have the exercise dress and the shorts. Both don’t really hold up. The straps on the dress started fraying after a year. I also had to get the dress altered because it looked long on a 5’0” frame

  • Clothing absolutely not made for movement. Like Lulu, their sizing scale is way off, but their products bunch, ride, and cling to all the wrong places even in the right sizes. Compression is inappropriately distributed - lax in the bras, restrictive in the leggings. Really my least favorite athletic wear that I've ever purchased, and I'm generally pretty lax about it - regularly use Lulu, Alo, Set, and even Amazon sets in the past (knowing to expect them to be see through and only last <10 washes). Love the story of the brand, very into Ty Haney's ideas (she's no longer affiliated with the company, but back in the day), but I just don't like their products.

  • it's been a hit or miss for me. sometime both design and fabric just dont even stand the chance

  • Quality is superior to cheap fast fashion Halara. I love the adjustable straps. It is also slimming and comfortable. I can wear a small and am 145 pounds 5'7, C bust.

  • I've purchased many pieces from Outdoor Voices over the past couple years, and I'm happy with all of them. If you get a chance to visit some of their brick and mortar stores, they typically have a good sale section. If you plan on ordering online, just note that most of their items run a little bit big, at least in my opinion.

  • My husband looooves their joggers, he almost lives in them now. He told me he found it through Reddit and now he's consistently purchased them... meanwhile, I'm still here hoping to be able to afford a RecTrek Zip Off pant one day LOL! No but seriously, they seem to make great quality clothing (I've never had any issues washing them either) so it's worth the money. I also love all the fun events they organize across the country :)

  • AMAZING!!! I am in love with their clothing. I bought these shorts and a shirt from them, and the material is so good! I am a person where the material of the clothing matters a lot because if I were to work out, it depends on how the clothing deals with my sweat or movement, and this is just perfect! I am going to buy more soon for sure!

  • I love outdoor voices outfits and styling. Its so cute and "it girl". My only issue is that even following the care instructions I've had multiple exercise dresses that have framed at the seams. The styles are cute, comfy, and versatile, I just hope as they grow the quality doesn't continue to drop.

  • love the style, color, and fabric choices - always makes me feel good while working out or lounging

  • I love OV! It is always such a pleasant experience to shop in their stores (I've been to the ones in SF and Boston) and their products are really great. I bought a running top from them years ago and it is my go-to top whenever I have to get on a flight!

  • I like the sets that I've gotten from Outdoor Voices but the quality just never feels like it stacks up for the price.

    Feedback

There's nothing that feels innovative about the brand. It's nice but not groundbreaking or different.

  • This might be an unpopular opinion but I haven’t liked the fit of a single item I’ve purchased. The material hasn’t been soft and the material is heavy.

    Feedback

    Use a lighter fabric

  • It was a fun experience going to their boutique in SFO. My husband bought a shirt and it was flattering on him.

  • Loved the initial vision and concept when Outdoor voices launched but feels like it hasn't evolved since. Still once in a while will find a product I love and buy from OV (I hear good things about the megafleece pieces) but seems rarer these days

    Feedback

Would like to see them explore more (at least from what I see in menswear)

  • Yikes y'all... it seems like they're making their way back a bit in terms of style, but anyone else notice a super rocky period when Ty Haney got demoted? Their fun, colorful brand turned super drab. They seem to be making their way back to a better balance, but ultimately, they haven't made significant steps in sustainability, and Girlfriend Collective has broadened their product line, so I don't feel the need to buy from OV anymore.

    Feedback

    More sustainability. More size inclusion.

  • I have a cute yellow workout dress from here that I love wearing in the summers. It's cute enough to look put together but I can walk around all day and be comfortable. Sizing is a little small though so consider sizing up.

  • I don't have too many items from OV, but the ones that I do are very high quality. I've heard from people with newer items, though, that the materials have gotten worse over time.
