Reviews mention

  • Creamy, dairy-like mouthfeel
  • Exceptional barista-grade frothing
  • Versatile, cooking-friendly consistency
  • Consistently smooth, neutral flavor
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Occasional glucose-spike concerns
  • Possible gut sensitivity reports
  • Inconsistent thickness across versions

Oatly earns strong reviews for creamy, dairy-like texture—especially the Barista Edition, which froths reliably for café-level lattes and blends beautifully in coffee, matcha, and baking—while critiques target ingredient lists with added oils/gums and a sometimes sweet or “oaty” aftertaste. Reviews also note occasional gut sensitivity and glucose spikes, plus variability in thickness across versions, making Oatly a standout for performance in drinks but not ideal for those seeking the cleanest formulas.

  • As we gradually dismount from the altar of alternate milks and return to tradition, allow me to say that I think this was the best of the worst of the milks. Oat milk has the oils suspended in it, it's a bit gross by nature, but this is the best tasting of the oat milks. So, if you're still drinking oatmilk, this is the one to beat.

  • Oatly is a natural pick for oat milk products. Its barista variety is thick, flavorful, and froths better than most. The added oils, which enable this texture, are ones we try to limit on a regular basis, such that it's good for a treat, but not something we subscribe to on a regular basis.

  • I've had their oat milk and their ice cream - and really liked both. They had a great mild taste and a nice mouthfeel. In terms of replacing traditional dairy, it's the closest thing I've sampled. I don't love some of the ingredients they use (but I suppose that's the tradeoff for the taste and texture they're able to achieve) but I do love their playful design aesthetic!

  • The taste is great. This foams up beautifully for lattes too. Very smooth and creamy. I’m not thrilled about the oil, but I think it’s not very much and it does provide the texture you want for foaming milks. The only reason this is not a five star review is because I would like the product I consume to be organic always. Pesticides should a thing of the past. Please and thank you.

  • The milk is great. The barista milk steams wonderfully. I wish more of their products were available in store by me, but I’ve only seen the yogurt and ice cream.

  • Oatly is the best choice when I make my latte, the texture is so light and fresh.

  • Tastes nice, but only realised afterwards that they have vegetable oils... wouldn't buy again on that basis.

  • Oatly used to be my go to oat milk brand, but I found out of their non-eco friendly practices and chose to switch.

  • Taste and texture is 10/10 but they're not clean label and have all kind of ingredients that I'd prefer not to have. My favorite alt milk brand is Malk. They're very close to your homemade version.

  • We have switched out much of our milk for Oatly products. I use the regular in my coffees and we use full fat versions in our main course dishes and pastas. It has excellent taste and a little goes a long way, which helps in our overall grocery bill too!

  • Love this product, i purchased recently the barista edition and its perfect! The only negative point i would give is that it does not mix well with coffee - very very liquid but i guess this is because its oat Sept 25, 2023 > Quick update on my review that i posted 9 months ago - i just discovered that they put sugar in every milk like 9 gr of sugar for 1L - what's the point? I though these milks were OK for people trying to avoid sugar but what a mistake- Disappointed

  • Definitely one of the better oat milk brands out there right now! All variations have been great (e.g. barista, choc, full fat)! It's also at a pretty good price point in comparison to some of the other brands. Works great in baking, iced coffees, with cereal - so basically everything.

  • Most oatly drinks have been awesome and a staple in our household. We recently tried the chocolate milk though and it did not taste good at all. Unfortunately. So that made me try out other brands that are also good. But generally our staples remain :)

    The chocolate milk!

  • Oatly is probably the most popular brand of oat milk that you'll find. I assume my review is somewhat unique in the sense that I only drink oat milk in my lattes/coffee when I go to a coffee shop. However, because I know for a fact they use Oatly, I give it five stars. It's the perfect alternative for a frothy coffee that is hard to replicate without dairy.

  • My boyfriend and I love Oatly! We use the barista blend for our coffee (or in my case, matcha!) in the morning. I adore the texture of it as it is not too far off from the feeling of normal cow's milk, which has been my issue with other plant-based milk options. The taste is also very light and pleasant and does not overpower.

  • I really like Oatly! I think it's really yummy in coffee or cereal.

For oats and water, it's a tinge overpriced and I'd rather get something with a little more protein bang for the buck. Also, there's a lot of sugar in the original.

  • Amazing taste and amazing for coffee! This creates the perfect thickness you need for a good coffee. Also has good ingredients!
