Reviews mention

  • Smooth-writing gel pens
  • Thoughtful minimalist design
  • Durable storage organizers
  • Calming in-store atmosphere
  • Boxy apparel fits
  • Occasional pen smudging
  • Inconsistent clothing quality
  • Flimsy cleaning tools

Muji earns strong reviews as a minimalist one‑stop shop that works well for stationery, storage, and home basics—its 0.36–0.5 gel pens, notebooks, diffusers, and modular organizers draw consistent praise for smooth performance, thoughtful design, and longevity. Reviews also flag drawbacks: clothing can fit boxy or feel mid‑quality, some items (especially certain home goods) feel overpriced, pens may smudge or skip, and online selection/UX lags, making in‑store experiences distinctly better.

  • Muji pens in .38 are the best pens. I will never go to using any other pen. I never used to carry pens with me and after using muji pens I can’t go without having one on me!

  • Great products for the price. The stores in Asia also have a great food and pantry selection.

  • What a gift! Muji offers high design and consistent aesthetic for a consistently low price point. I love their stuff - not all of it, but especially the stationary and one organization - and I'm so grateful that this brand exists.

  • Muji is a unique shopping experience, with nearly all you need in one place. Everything is a clean, simplistic aesthetic, from kitchenware to other home decor. We personally love their office supplies, including sleek, functional notebooks and the best gel pens there are. The pens last and come in more colors than you ever thought possible. Once you use a Muji pen, it's hard to go back.

  • Muji is my go-to brand for all things related to organization, and I can't recommend it enough. Their products, from their versatile storage boxes to their makeup organizers, are simply the best. What sets Muji apart is its commitment to simplicity and functionality. The clean, minimalist designs of their organization's products not only look great but also serve their purpose flawlessly. Muji's storage boxes come in various sizes and configurations, making it easy to declutter and keep everything in order. Their makeup organizers are a game-changer for keeping cosmetics neatly arranged and accessible, making the morning routine a breeze. Another aspect of Muji that I appreciate is the quality of their products. They are built to last, which is essential when it comes to organization. You won't find flimsy, disposable items here; Muji's products are sturdy and durable. Whether you're looking to tidy up your living space, office, or vanity, Muji is the brand you can trust for all your organization needs. The combination of practicality, style, and quality makes Muji a standout choice, and I wouldn't go anywhere else for these essentials.

  • I love Muji! I find the products to be good quality, reasonably priced and stylish. I have purchased stationary, storage and kitchenware (plates, mugs, etc) from them.

  • I have bought the cleanser and also the slippers and the quality is perfect. If your style is minimals or just as basic as you can, you could look out for Muji.

  • Muji is one of my top stops for travel containers. They also seem to have the right size and everything in the store is perfectly minimal

  • Good products at decent prices. I particularly like their travel and organization products. The pens are also great.

  • Japan's version of IKEA. The aesthetic is everything here. It's monotone and minimalist. I usually go for their home and kitchen section. Price is very affordable. I'd avoid plastic products though.

  • My #1 choice of pens in highschool and college, specifically the .5 and .38. I cannot count how many pens and pen refills I’ve bought over the last ten years. I will say, Mujis website is no fun at all— it’s a MUCH better experience shopping in store. Also just very calming in there! For their other products: their clothes last forever, skin care is great to try if you’re a beginner, and their kitchen/ bath accessories are killer. It used to be my dream when I was a teenager to have a home that was 100% muji 💭

  • I love any product from Muji. It’s simple and elegant and can fit in any house taste. I have their diffuser, passport organizer their storage organizer. The quality is worth the money! Will recommend to anyone who likes having a minimal look.

  • Great minimalist items for household. Used to be great across the board with very affordable prices, it feels like prices have gone up and quality down in the last couple of years. Some of their best products have been discontinued.

Items don't last as long as they used to.

  • Muji!! I can't say enough good things about this brand. First introduced to it in Japan and since then have shopped at their NYC locations. I love their gender-free options and they have great small gifts.

Bring a location to Montreal Canada please!

  • I grew up in a Muji-using household! 😂✌🏼 I particularly appreciate their office supplies and their organization/storage products. Muji pens are especially unique and it really runs true that once you use them, you cannot go back to normal pens!

    Feedback

While marketed as affordable, prices for items can definitely run a bit higher!

  • Really well designed basic homewares. Inexpensive but very chic, an upgraded ikea.

  • Everything is standard. Nothing super special but everything does the job which makes it perfect in its own way.
