The Reformation wins praise in reviews for flattering, event-ready dresses, chic silhouettes, and a standout tech-enabled in‑store fitting experience, yet the brand draws sustained criticism for inconsistent sizing, thin or unlined fabrics, and quality that often fails to match its reputation. Reviews describe great jeans and timeless styles alongside complaints of shrinking, pilling, and poor construction, plus fit skewed toward tall/slim bodies and frequent frustrations with returns and customer service—making it a try‑in‑person, piece‑by‑piece proposition.

I had quality issues for an item that i received for a prior exchange. I wanted to exchange for the same item only in different color but their policy does not allow for another exchange which doesn't make sense. The dress was almost $300 and the fabric looked inferior and the stitches sloppy. The customer support is lackluster and unhelpful. They are good at apologizing but do not offer any solutions. Terrible policies that does not support its customers, buyer beware.

Worst customer service ever I bought a silk dress for NOK 4,700, used it in once at an outdoor wedding. It rained a little (dizzy), and the marks from the rain didn’t come off the dress. I delivered the dress to the cleaners and they have tried twice without success. I contact customer service and they say they couldn’t do anything and stopped answering.

Horrible horrible customer service. I bought a bunch of dresses for a wedding since I wasn't sure what I'd be getting ordering things online and saw them had free returns. I returned the dresses I didn't want and then a week later the package was returned to me. The reason? Three pieces of fuzz were on the dresses. This was considered "damaged and unrecoverable". I am now stuck with tons of dresses that are way too big for me that I will never wear because of their horrible return policy that makes no sense. The photo attached is the evidence photo they took at their office. Absolutely ridiculous.

Sustainable and chic, what more could a girl ask for?! I really appreciate the effort that The Reformation makes to be sustainable across all aspects of the business. It's rare. A+ for effort.

Reformation has the most flattering silhouettes and structure that make them feel really special. The quality is amazing too, everything is made to last. It is definitely a bit of an investment, but their clothes are so timeless you can wear them for years.

Used to be decent, now the fabrics are all terrible. They use to be progressive, now feature trad wives. I tried complaining and only get AI written interactions where they don't have the basic respect of writing my name, just having a "hi there" prompt. I've been trying to delete my accounts since the trad wife campaign, but have had no success because they don't respect EU law.
Their dresses are such high quality & perfect for all occasions. I love that I can now buy their products through Nordstrom. Nordstrom has an easier return policy & it seems like I can find a bunch of stuff at a discount there.
I have purchased several items from the company. The quality is not great. I find the fabrics they use are hart of care for. It also seems a bit overpriced and the sizing is funny.
Like many people, I have a love-hate relationship with the brand. Their marketing has always been geared towards white, tall, slim, sexy girls. So celebrating the "feminine figure" has felt like it's celebrating one body type. Of course, they've expanded their line a bit, but it's still not felt inclusive enough. I have purchased lots of items over the years because I appreciate their dedication towards sustainable production. Their designs are truly unique and do feel quite beautiful on the body. I even purchased my wedding dress from them (and felt amazing in it!). My issues with them: the price for the quality is horrendous. A lot of their dresses aren't lined, but go for $300. And the sizing is alllll over the place. I tried on four pairs of Mason Trouser Pants. In the same size, but different colors. They all fit insanely different- one was too tight, one was super loose, one was too short, one was too long. Another issue, especially when considering the price. I'll continue to purchase their items, but most likely secondhand.
I have several pieces from Reformation purchased from the Austin South Congress store location and they are timeless and so well made. My favorite is a white high-neck, sleeveless, loose-fitting sweater tank that goes with everything and has lasted several seasons even with washing at home; it was about $80. The real star though is the store layout and digital fitting room system. When you go into the fitting room there is a touch screen mounted on the wall where you can browse items, select your size, and send a request for a salesperson to bring it to you. The reasons I loved this experience are because: - It keeps the store floor and hangers super curated and not overrun with every size available, so the clothing really has a chance to standout - Seeing and selecting the clothing from the digital screen in the dressing room showcases what the item looks like on models and fully styled, so it's more helpful than just seeing it on the hanger. - My friend and I also liked how if a size isn't available in the store, they use the system to see if it works for you to get it sent to your home address or another store to try on. Overall, it was a unique experience that we had to get used to but ended it really enjoying and were wishing it could be incorporated elsewhere.
Absolutely love the style of their pieces. You have to size up! I’ll only buy their stuff second hand because it is WAY too expensive for wha my it is.

❤️ As a tall person, so many pieces I tried on from the Reformation collections surprisingly fit my body (which is rare for somebody my height - 6ft). Their midi dresses are all the rage. Flattering designs combined with beautiful fabric and textures. I love that there is a mix of shorter and longer designs - styles to fit all kinds of bodies. Special mentions go to their Bridal Salon - which reminds me of Australian brands like Shona Jay. There are sub-categories to choose from to help filter down to the styles and colours you might be after (for brides, the bridal party + even for wedding guests). I like that they are very open about their sustainability missions. This openness on this reminds me of brands like Everlane.

I hope they open boutiques in Australia. David Jones is a stockist, but I don't believe many stores actually stock the brand in-store (other than Sydney/Melbourne... ??). Might be more of an online thing, and I hope they make it more of an in-person thing in the years to come. ❤️ 🇦🇺
Reformation used to be the best! Great jeans, blouses, dresses, everything. I got my high school prom dress from the brand many years ago, so it will always hold some sort of special/nostalgic place in my heart. It’s not necessarily bad now, but just not really my style anymore. it feels like they haven’t evolved, ever? Also their brand voice on social feels a little weird/tone deaf from time to time.

New styles!
wonderful
Fits really well and high quality. Very commercial, so you’ll see a lot of people in the same items, but it’s worth it for good basics and easy dresses.

Amazing clothing items - hard to go wrong with reformation. Love their dresses for every occasion. Whenever I’m looking for a dress to wear to weddings, Reformation is the first place I look. Their jeans are top tier and fit so well.
The clothes are always on sale. There’s no reason to ever buy full priced Reformation. The quality is decent but I recommend sizing up. I don’t buy their whole sustainability front.

Complicated, very tricky. The designs are lovely and flattering, but you really have to check piece by piece for quality and value. Sometimes you're being uncharged for synthetic fabrics, sometimes you're being sold thin and poor quality silk. Other times it's a fabulous top, dress, or pants that you'll have forever. Their jeans and "jeans" line tops are criminally underrated.
love the designs and fabric quality of their clothes! shopping in-store is always such a cool experience as well.

Reformation can be a real hit or miss for me. I think they have great classic pieces and beautiful dresses, but some of their styles can be a real head-scratcher. Honestly, most of the Reformation pieces that I own are resale. While it's great quality, I wouldn't pay the retail price.
