Reviews mention

  • Ingredient-transparent formulations
  • Clinically effective actives
  • Minimalist, fragrance-free options
  • Wide, customizable range
  • Occasional sticky textures
  • Potential irritation from actives
  • Hit-or-miss product efficacy
  • Confusing layering for beginners

The Ordinary earns strong reviews for being effective and ingredient-focused: many users report clearer, smoother, more hydrated skin from staples like Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, and the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Reviews also flag weaknesses: some formulas feel sticky or pill, certain actives (retinoids, vitamin C, high-percentage acids) can irritate or be too harsh, results can be hit-or-miss by product or skin type, and the range can be confusing without research.

  • When I first started getting into skin care. I bought a lot of products from the ordinary and I love how cheap and affordable they are and accessible. They are for people that are just starting a skin care routine. The products do a good job.

  • We love her she’s perfect she’s a girls girl she has our back when we can’t afford anything. There are absolutely products I swear by and products that aren’t for me but the price point makes me feel less guilty about that.

  • Game changer! I started using this on my back a few times a week, and within a couple of weeks, my back acne started clearing up noticeably. It gently exfoliates without being too harsh, and it's super affordable for how effective it is. I apply it with a cotton pad or spray bottle post-shower, and it’s made a huge difference in texture and breakouts. Definitely a holy grail for body acne!

  • This serum is a stellar choice for those battling oiliness and blemishes, offering visible results within 4–6 weeks. While the texture and high niacinamide concentration require patience, its affordability and efficacy make it a standout. Sensitive-skinned users may prefer a lower niacinamide percentage. A testament to The Ordinary’s mission: clinical ingredients, accessible price.

  • I love how affordable everything from the Ordinary is. My favorite product is niacinamide and the aha + bha peeling solution.

  • I’ve been using this Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution for a few weeks now, and I can already tell it’s a keeper. It’s gentle enough for my skin—no redness or irritation at all—but it still gets the job done. I use it in the evening, and it helps remove those last stubborn traces of makeup while giving my skin a nice, clean feel.

  • I love how lightweight it is, and it absorbs quickly without leaving any sticky residue. The formula is gentle but effective, helping to refine my skin’s texture and reduce any signs of dullness. Whether you're dealing with dryness, congestion, or just want to maintain healthy, glowing skin, this toner does the job without irritating or over-drying.

  • I generally like these products, I've tried the face cleanser and it was just alright. It kind of just feels oily and it's hard to feel like my face has been truly cleaned. I don't think it's worth the money.

  • affordable and does exactly what you ask for! i love that i can buy specific products / acids at a super affordable price. i personally only like the ordinary for that purpose and don't love their formulated products (moisterizer)

  • I love the concept of the Ordinary skincare, how you are able to customize your skincare routine and getting the skincare ingredients needed to achieve your goals without paying for the fancy ingredients and packaging. I love their glycolic acid toner but really didn’t like the nicinimide serum and vitamin c serum. They smelt funny and pilled a lot even with other the Ordinary products.

  • I love how the skin care line is basic but essential and great for every day use. Also it is super cost-effective so I started my skin care routine with the ordinary and I’ve continued using some of their products ever since.

  • Good brand mission of cheap simple yet effective skincare with lots of various blends and acids for every skincare need. Some are more effective than others.

  • The only product I use regularly from The Ordinary now is their Glycolic Acid. Back when they launched, I did try a variety of products from them but none of them really stuck with me. The best part about The Ordinary is their low price point and concentrated products with no additives/fillers, but it was difficult to figure out a solid routine without in-depth knowledge of skincare ingredients and how they react together. If you go in blind and start mixing and matching a bunch of products, your skin will probably end up worse than when you started.

  • The Ordinary makes good solid products at a very affordable price point. When I use the line consistently, my face always looks great. I stray because I am a skincare junkie and cannot commit to one line. However, this is the line I buy for my husband so I know I can always dip into his stash. My only complaint is the eye cream/solution, I wish they would make a more hydrating cream based product.

  • I essentially think the products are decent, but they are overpriced. It wouldn’t be something that would purchase again after I finish and they seem to work, but I would expect more for the price it wouldn’t be something that I would purchase again unless it was on

  • You can't beat the price point for the Ordinary. The products are pretty competitive with name brands. It's a great way to try skincare without breaking the back. I like their face wash as well as their azelaic oil.

  • I really wanted to like this, but it didn’t work for me. It made my skin feel kind of dry and tight, and I didn’t notice any real improvement. Might work for others, but not a fan to me personally. It also didn't smell too nice.

  • The aha/bha exfoliating serum was way too strong for my skin and ruined my skin barrier. It also burned my skin when putting it on.

  • I use the Granactive Retinoid. It's the only Retinoid I've found that doesn't burn my face at all. I can use it every night without any issues. I like that it's packaged in glass as well, and the price is awesome.

  • I love my ordinary serum. I first was thinking about getting these when I saw how trendy they were on social media on TikTok on Instagram. So glad I tried these out because my skin feels great. Highly recommend
