Therabody
Experience
As someone who would like to incorporate a massage into everyday of her life, I wanted to like this but I found the pressure of the vibrations unpleasant and anxiety inducing. I have tried both the theragun and the mini and didn’t experience any notable difference between the two apart from ergonomics.
Feedback
I know people who have benefitted from the use of their theragun (and that’s to be applauded) but perhaps for some, like me, it’s just an ill suited product. At least for now. I would, however, still say it’s worth a try- just in case.
Ultra Violette
Experience
I bought the daydream screen tinted veil when it seemed my usual tinted suncream was running out. I liked that it’s an Aussie product with a high SPF and a wide range of tints available for different skin tones.
Feedback
I really wanted to like this product but I just haven’t been able to get on board with it unless I use a matte powder after application. It is shiny! And not in a glowy way but rather a greasy way. It also leaves a slight grey cast on my skin which is less than ideal. I’ll use up the bottle but I cannot see myself purchasing the tinted veil again. I may try the skin screen at some point.

Le Creuset
Experience
Blame covid times for this purchase but worth all the pennies. After umming and ahing I purchased the 4.1L cast iron soup pot whilst in the throes of covid cooking and baking because it seemed like a good idea.

It is an investment but they are top quality and together with a lifetime warranty, well worth it. I feel a little more competent in the kitchen whenever I use it and use it, I do! For soups, stews, sauces, curries, bread. My only note is that they are heavy so can be a little unwieldy to wash and handle. Also I perhaps should have chosen a different colour. The orange is their signature but very bright!

Feu de bois candle. That’s it. End of review.

If like me, you are not a fan of sweet and floral scents but prefer those in woody, smoky, musky family- the Feu de bois candle creates a lovely atmosphere. They are definitely pricey but worth it. Have even converted the husband to them. No mean feat! Note: the floral scented candles, to my nose, are unpleasantly cloying and very strong. Not a fan.
Mario Badescu
Experience
Rating is based primarily on the drying lotion which is very effective! I have used the cucumber cleansing gel and toner and some moisturiser in the past but I don’t think they left too much of a mark as I didn’t purchase again. The drying lotion however, is like magic. It looks a little odd walking around with pale pink spots on your face but I tend to stay indoors while I let it do its job. And do it well! I also use one of their mists before I apply hyaluronic acid on my skin. I could probably use any spritzing product but I quite like the Mario Badescu ones. Perhaps because the fragrance isn’t too offensive. Or perhaps because the drying lotion comes in a gift set with the spritz. Take your pick.
Feedback
I found the face wash that I used to be far too astringent for my skin but having only tried one range I can’t speak for the others. I would highly recommend the drying lotion to anyone who gets the occasional or regular monthly spots.

I like the idea of the fleeting drawings and doodles but I don’t know…?

After the initial novelty wore off, I didn’t use it again. So I don’t think it’s a particularly thoughtful use of resources or space but I can see that it might be fun for a child perhaps? But again, I wonder how quickly the novelty would wear out.
Kosas
Experience
Not here for the makeup but for their deodorant. I had to find an alternative to my crystal deo because it just didn’t cut it in a highly humid climates so I was very happy when I found their Chemistry roll on and it worked!
Feedback
Does it stop you perspiring? No. But that is not what I was after. It completely eliminates any trace of BO and doesn’t have a funky perfumed scent, although it does have a scent- even the fragrance free option which I prefer. I’ve also tried the Wet Oil lip gloss in “Dip”. It is a perfectly adequate product but am not a gloss fan so I find the stickiness uncomfortable. The shade is lovely though, neutral with just a hint of colour.
Havaianas

The comfiest of thongs/flip flops. I must admit that I currently don’t own a pair but these were the ideal footwear for when I lived in the tropics.

The rubber is very comfortable and soft but they are also sturdy enough to last a lot of wear and tear. I think I also liked when you could buy replacement straps when they broke. I don’t know if they still offer this? Or did I imagine this?
The Ordinary
Experience
I dabbled with fancy skincare on and off throughout my 20s but having been pretty lucky on that front I can’t attest to any of that stuff working- but The Ordinary absolutely does. When I suddenly developed hormonal spots on my cheeks that resulted in pigmentation a Google hunt led me to, what was at the time still very new to the scene, The Ordinary. Whilst it can be confusing to know what products you should combine for your own skin issues, I got really lucky with my very first order and 3 out of the 4 items that arrived continue to form the basis of my skincare routine.

I have tried many of their products but I swear by the Granactive Retinoid 2% emulsion, Vitamin C Suspension and Hyaluronic acid 2%. So much so, I usually buy them in multiples so I am prepared in case I run out! The moisturiser is adequate but I switched to the Plant derived squalane and it is a fuss free, non comodogenic oil perfect for Gua sha. I have been recommending this brand to my friends and family since pretty much the get go as it worked so well on my skin and is incredibly accessible in comparison to many other active skincare brands. I do supplement it with a few other lotions and potions but 6 years on I am still using these products and will continue doing so. Note- their makeup gets a no from me. I have not found a shade that suits my skin tone and I dislike the texture.
Lakrids by Bülow
Experience
My favourite licorice balls. Discovered them at Kästrup on a trip home from Copenhagen and enjoyed every last ball. The liquorice powder coating was so different from other chocolate liquorice products I’ve had. A very tasty and now that I think about it, such on obvious complement to the chocolate.
Feedback
Lakrids by Bulow are beautifully packaged and the booths so inviting you can’t help but grab a box or two, however, if you are in the Nordics there are much more affordable and dare I say, equally or almost as tasty liquorice balls that can be purchased at the grocery store, even. Just not as glam. Also, I’m boring. I don’t like the flavoured ones. I’d recommend sticking with the original.
