  • Love having the Theraplush next to my bed for easy dispensing and its chic look. In fact, I'd really love to have a body lotion size dispenser like this in a coordinating color. I really love that it doesn't look like lotion on your bedside table. I also use the Buffing Bar in the summer in my outdoor shower, and I think it's great at exfoliating my body skin as it tans and starts to fade. Overall, the brand feels really chic, low-key, luxury, and most of all, very honest. I feel like real people created it, and it's not just all marketing hype.

  • The carea cream might be my favorite. It it goes far enough with each pump but not to the point where it feels like it's watery. I can tell in noticeable difference in the morning that my skin is still soft from it. The buffing bar is great for heels, especially. I find that it's a bit hard to get all the way around my pointier elbow, but for a rounder shape like a heel it is ideal. I probably would prefer loofah to my elbows than the bar. I really can't tell that the smoothing solution is doing anything. The bottle is a little bit leaky as well. Of all the products, that would be the one that I would not repurchase The theraplush is so lux. I love how it looks on my nightstand and it would be a great gift. I can tell that my hands are less dry after using it for about 2 weeks now every night. I appreciate that there is no intense smell to any of the products. Packaging was great and it seems like it's made with quite high quality ingredients

  • I’ve been using the buffing bar for a year now and am obsessed. It’s improved my KP and my skin texture overall. I have quite sensitive skin and am always wary of over-exfoliation, but this has been gentle enough for everyday use on my body. I splurged on their DS & DURGA buffing bar earlier this year and it was a fun treat, but I think I prefer the unscented blue bar overall.

  • Theraplush was my gateway into Soft Services, and while it's a great lotion, my true love is the buffing bar. I started getting KP on my legs a few years ago and have seen a drastic improvement with this product! It is kind of insanely coarse so I reserve it for my weekly everything showers. While I love this brand for its ingredients + sensitive skin friendly formulations, I do wish there were more option for scented things. I loved the debaser/ DS+S Durga buffing bar collab! Sometimes u just want a fragrance.....

  • I have the Debaser Buffing Bar. I have been recommended this product by a bunch of friends and finally pulled the trigger. I am a strong user of the korean scrub towel and the buffing bar is the first exfoliant product i've used that gets even remotely similar to the scrub feel of the towel. helps that the smell is great as well!

  • Soft Services got on my radar due to its Theraplush hand lotion in its aesthetic-friendly container. However, thanks to the Thingdrop I was able to test the hand lotion as well as the other products. Their main mission seems to be exfoliating to achieve nice, soft skin, a nod to its brandname. I was excited to try the Smoothing Solution as I cannot use scrubs after having a baby (too sensitive). I liked I had another avenue to exfoliating without using a physical scrub. I had to also try the affogato fragranced buffing bar which I gifted to my sister - to remind us of our time traveling through Italy. I look forward to trying more products from this line! I had reached out to customer service and had a quick and positive experience.

  • I have been eyeing soft services for a while so I was very excited to see a Thingdrop for them. Shipping and delivery was so quick. I got email updates throughout the entire process. The packaging of the products was beautiful. There is definitely an attention to detail and care for the products with delivery. I got the hand lotion, buffing bar, and soap home. The hand lotion is wonderful, slightly fragranced and melts into my hands. The buffing bar is great! It exfoilates really well. Additionally the soap home is nice product- I feel like my soap will not get washed away as much during my showers. Overall great products and I will definitely purchase again!

  • The lotion and Speed Soak feel great and absorb quickly, which makes them perfect for humid summers. I also appreciate that they’re unscented. The scrub and smoothing solution seem promising, though it’s still a little early to see full results, I’ll update after a few more weeks. The cleanser feels a bit thin and doesn’t lather much, and in this case I do miss having a scent. On the other hand, the packaging is sleek and the unboxing experience feels luxe, these would make a great gift.

  • First Impressions: Clean Skincare Meets Couture Packaging I first discovered the Soft Services brand on Instagram — an aesthetic, paraben, sulfate, fragrance-free skincare brand that quickly landed on my “must-try” list. As someone who is passionate about clean skincare, I didn’t hesitate when this became a Thingdrop. And let me say: this is the first time I photographed all the packaging before even trying the products. It’s that stunning. Truly. Let’s start with the Affogato L’Orange Buffing Bar — it’s wrapped in the most exquisite paper, then nested inside an eco-conscious, drop-dead gorgeous box. I have never said the words “unboxing” but I now have to because it was worth remarking on. It’s magical and looks like it came from an Italian design house. I’m genuinely tempted to keep both the paper and the box… even if I don’t yet know what for. The Starter Set itself is bathroom-shelf-worthy: it includes the bestselling Buffing Bar (a microcrystal body exfoliant) and the sleek, accompanying drying dish and splash cover set is minimalist, functional, and engineered for maximum airflow and minimal water contact, so no soggy soap, an elegant solution for a more sustainable, plastic-free routine. Now, the scent. I’m extremely sensitive to fragrance, so I was curious—and a little cautious. But their description intrigued me: “freshly poured espresso, smooth vanilla-coconut cream, and a twist of Italian citrus.” What I experienced was just that: bright citrus and a bit of vanilla-coconut. It’s divine. Honestly, I wish every other product I purchased from Soft Services shared the scent. Microcrystal Exfoliant Review For context, I don’t have particularly sensitive skin—so keep that in mind. But I found this exfoliant absolutely phenomenal. It’s both a soap and an exfoliant, which makes it incredibly convenient. In fact, I tossed my Japanese exfoliating cloth. I simply don’t need it anymore. Apparently, this version has been reformulated for gentler buffing—but since this was my first time with the brand, I can’t compare. What I can say is: my skin smells heavenly and is so soft, and I’ll absolutely be repurchasing.

  • I chose this Buffing bar as a freebie from sephora with my purchase. I have thick calluses on the heels of both of my feet that I've had for years. I've always just used a battery buffer to maintain them a few times a week, because they wouldn't go away. I used this bar a few times a week in the shower and it buffed my calluses down to almost nothing. I finally just used my battery buffer to finish buffing my heels after using the bar one day and my feet look normal and feel smooth for the first time in years. So while it didn't completely remove my calluses it took away about 90% of them and helped prep other products to be more successful. Which makes me very likely to purchase it in the future.

  • I love this stuff. I started out with the buffing bar as a recommendation from a Sephora employee and at first I was unsure - but now I love it. Its the only exfoliant that has worked for me since Oui the People's product. The bar feels rough and scratchy on your skin - but i kind of like it. I usually use the bar, shave etc - and then end my shower with a body was as I don't love the film bar soap leaves. The smoothing solution I actually really like. I can successfully say after using this product - it has helped my ingrowns so bless. My ~only~ complaint with this one - is the packing. I'm having to keep this tube right side up because otherwise it leaks which is unfortunate because then I'm losing product and this stuff isn't cheap. I have also purchased the lotion but haven't tried that one yet - but its safe to say - i'm loving the products from this brand! I've repurchased the bars twice and i know ill go back for a third time!

  • From my wife: I can’t speak to KP, as I have never dealt with it, but was intrigued by the buffing bar as I have always had bumpy, irritated armpits, regardless of whether I tweezed/shaved/did nothing in the armpit area. It’s only been two uses, but already, I have found that my armpits are smoother than they’ve ever been, and my ingrown hairs are gone. The buffing bar is not cheap, but I am thrilled with the results after two uses. Since the bar is pretty pricey, we decided to invest in the Soap Home as well. I like that it protects the bar soap from degrading when not in use, while also letting it dry out. Nothing too miraculous here, but it does seem to improve the longevity of the bar soap.

  • This brand is so forward-thinking and cool but also really works! I first heard about them via their collab with DS& Durga, but never got to try it! Instead, I’ve been using their green banana buffing bar which has been amazing - I’ve recommended it to multiple people already. Now I’ve also started using their carea cream on my body and theraplush. I’d probably buy unscented theraplush next time, but every item will definitely be purchased again! Also love how they package their boxes.

  • I was so excited to see Soft Services on thingdrop- I had been wanting to try the buffing bar but was a little hesitant of the price tag. The unboxing was great- simple and w packaged. The buffing bar (blue) is much firmer feeling than a traditional bar of soap. Instructions say to use the buffing bar 1x /week/as needed, so I also got the ceramic soap dish to help it keep longer. It seems to be a quality, innovative product and I look forward to using it and hopefully experiencing its effectiveness!

  • TLDR - Buffing Bar feels worth it if you're really treating yourself with a fancy exfoliating bar, but at the end of the day, it's just a soap bar with tiny pumice-y granules. Theraplush is a great heavy moisturizer but it doesn't feel or have a greater effect than other heavy moisturizers and I don't see unique things about the formulation. -- I got the Buffing Bar and Theraplush via Thingtesing since I've never been able to fully stomach the retail cost for Soft Services things even though their marketing and virality really made me allllmost try many times. The Buffing Bar is very scrubby, definitely coarse and felt like it was scraping dead skin off, but the bar is less blue than it is the photos (not a big deal, but definitely part of the appeal) and there's nothing spectacular about the scent. Theraplush is a good heavy moisturizer, definitely something for end of the day, pre-bed routines since it doesn't absorb well and has a tacky consistency. Looking forward to using both more in the city winter.

  • I really like this product. The buffing bar has just the right amount of exfoliation and smells amazing. It is really easy to use. I will definitely purchase this buffing bar set again and would like to try the other scent!

  • I'm loving the Green Banana Buffing Bar. It's been helping alleviate the KP on my arms and it's great for pre-shaving too. It has just enough texture to slough off texture and dead skin, but it's also a super nourishing formula

  • Happy to report I've become a big softie. These products are special, and while yes, expensive, have become my go-to lotions and potions. The buffing bar in particular, because how many buffing bars does one really need? This one is delightful, though, because I can feel it working on my skin while being gentle enough that I don't feel raw after using it. Smoothing Solution and Speed Soak are very fun to use, I can literally feel my skin soaking up moisture. Both are gel-like formulations, but my skin isn't sticky after using them. I can feel the products are working and effective, because they leave my skin oh-so-soft to the touch, and the hydration honestly lasts for a long time. A little goes a long way. I'm obsessed with the Carea Cream, a unique formula that's more a liquid lotion than a thicker cream (see my expert hand modeling below), and it too soaks beautifully into my skin and leaves lasting hydration. The one product I might be iffy about repurchasing down the road is the Theraplush hand cream, which frankly is indeed beautiful hand cream, and I love the refillable system. I'm just glad the refills are cheaper than the initial investment. My hands get extra dry during the winter, so I'll be putting this to the test big-time later this year. Bonus points for all products I've used so far: None of the fragrance is overwhelming, more a hint of fragrance. I like wearing various perfumes, and these products will never clash. I also really appreciate the care with which each product was clearly made, as well as the wealth of knowledge shared by the brand. I received a cute and helpful "Software Update installation guide" email after purchasing the retinol product (smart because that's important stuff to know), and I loved the topic of a recent newsletter, which was a part III of their Foot Care Guide for hiking. The trifecta for me: excellent quality and formulations that do what they claim to, non-fussy and beautiful products, and education.

  • Before THINGTESTING I have never heard of this brand but it did not disappoint. Living in Mozambique with very dry sensitive skin (weird because there is lots of humidity), my ritual was a good bath soak weekly and a good buff on my legs specifically for ingrown hair. I use a pharmacy moisturizer but hate exfoliants (scrubs like sugar or broken shells). Before Soft Services using a Microcrystal Exfoliant was never a priority because the good ones have no scent and sometimes they do worse than good. Having ingrown hair on my lower legs and knees sucks big time because I see them and damn if I didn't see the difference after using this buffing bar. I used the bar while in the shower on my legs, knees, elbows and on my feet. It's a miracle. Since I'm not a pedicure person this bar had the same effect after a good daily soak (I've been travelling a lot so my feet ache). The best part should be the desired effect, however it's the combination of that with how easy it is to hold the bar, along with the scent (would be so awesome if the made a body lotion to go along with it) and damn if the soap dish isn't the most beautiful, aesthetic and functional thing I have ever seen. It was a beautiful surprise to find this limited edition of their buffing bar in Affogato L'Orange.

  • The Carea Cream is a magical combination of moisturizing, exfoliating and calming that works. Ever since middle age hit, there has been an increasing dullness to my skin. This is the perfect combo to bring back a more youthful brightness. I also bought the Smoothing Solution, having tried a deluxe sample of it already. It helped clear the annoying bumps on my legs and I'm looking forward to using it on elbows and knees now as well. Have used the Buffing Bar (original Blue) in the past which worked incredibly well and lasted forever. Very effective product line.
