Reviews mention

  • Exceptional durability and construction
  • Lightweight warmth in jackets
  • Versatile, travel-friendly designs
  • Credible sustainability and repairs
  • Inconsistent, confusing apparel sizing
  • Occasional fleece pilling issues
  • Delicate nano puff shell fabric
  • Mixed wind and waterproof performance

Patagonia earns overwhelmingly positive reviews and proves itself a good brand: gear is exceptionally durable, warm, and versatile across activities, with standouts like the Nano Puff, Better Sweater, Synchilla fleeces, Atom Sling, and Black Hole bags. Reviews also flag drawbacks—frequent comments on high pricing, inconsistent or tricky sizing (especially women’s bottoms), occasional fleece pilling and Nano Puff snags, a few wind/waterproof performance gaps, and muted styling for some tastes—making in‑store try‑ons and product selection key.

  • I appreciate Patagonia for being one of the first brands to really talk about environmentalism and work towards a more carbon-neutral manufacturing process but I don't think I'm necessarily their target client. I'm not as much of a mountain-outdoorsy type of person but I really enjoy their coats and jackets for cold days.

I'd love to see more of an expansion into apparel for more sunny adventures!

  • Super comfy and reliable, from their jackets to their other outdoor products. I've been wanting to try Patagonia Provisions too, since there's been a big buzz over tinned fish.

  • love everything from this brand. expensive but worth the price and i do wish they came out with new styles of clothing as they have pretty basic looking items

  • Adore all things Patagonia. If you’re wondering what brand outerwear brand to purchase from, Patagonia is your answer. The company’s mission make me feel good about purchasing from them. Plus, their products are high quality, sleek, functional, and have unique colors.

  • I love how engaged this company is. No more corporate monograms, sustainability focus always, their smoked mussels are everywhere now. Really cool.

  • Love the look of Patagonia's clothes, and I appreciate the functionality. However... the sizing is weird, so I would recommend trying items on in-store where possible. For example, I ended up getting a pair of Pack Out hiking tights in Small after trying them on in store. But if I'd ordered them online, going by the measurements provided on their website I would have chosen Medium and ended up returning them... The tights were super high quality and great for hiking, though. And they have lots of pockets! Worth the money for sure.

  • Love the quarter zip sweater for men and women - it looks sharp and keeps us warm (and makes for great gifts cause everyone knows the value and almost anyone looks good in it)!

  • I have been wearing Patagonia since 1999. One of my synchilla fleeces still is going strong. I support their ethical and sustainable views. I often buy second-hand on Poshmark and Ebay and also resell my daughter's pieces. The quality is amazing and the styles are great. Snow pants are awesome or kids being reversible and the puffer coats will last forever. They also do lifetime repairs for free. I will always be loyal to Patagonia. We are a Patagonia family and will not buy any other brand !

  • Warmest most comfortable and high quality jacket I have ever bought. Well worth the money. And love the founder's story.

  • Patagonia is one of the best brands I’ve purchased. The price is higher but the quality and ethics of the company are worth the cost for larger pieces, in my opinion. They also have incredible customer service and recycling programs for their pieces. I took away one star due to the occasional lack of sizing for taller, larger women. I often have to shop the men’s section in order to find a good fit.

  • I'm absolutely in love with everything about Patagonia. I actually know someone who has a whole collection, and let me tell you, the quality is out of this world! Whether you're into hiking, winter sports, or just staying cozy, Patagonia has got you covered. It's a brand that everyone should have at least one piece from in their closet. Trust me, you won't regret it!

  • My down jacket got a South Carolina girl through five brutal Ohio winters -- y'all have my heart forever.

  • I used to buy their pullovers every year. They are great for cold weather and come in a range of styles/colors. I also have had a thin winter jacket from Patagonia and it was good for mild temperatures. The women's pullovers do have a pretty fitted style so if you want a loose / oversized look, size up!

  • The most amazing outdoor brand with a great mission. They often donate used gear to local organizations and even will repair and replace your products when needed. Patagonia’s clothing is top tier and will last a lifetime. While pricey, completely worth it.

  • I own a variety of their products, from bags to clothes, and I love it. The quality is like nothing in the field. I refuse to buy from any other outdoor company. Their mission and care for their customers and the environment, and their quality is impeccable.
