I fell in love with the Masoor Daal and will 100% be buying it as a pantry staple. Even beyond just the fact that it's a super simple meal--the ingredients are incredibly simple. That's always a plus for me.

Absolutely delicious! We understand why it's called "comfort food". Unique flavors to an American palate and you need to keep in mind that this is Pakistani food, not Indian, not Thai, not anything else... so if you set your expectations for something new, you've found it and we loved it.

To say I loved my Paro experience would be an understatement. Delicious, flavorful, filling meals that are ready in 30 min! I tried the Kitchari with some Tarka on top and it was so tasty. I like using the Tarka on toast with cottage cheese (my friend's recommendation!)

Good food easy to make, wish they had more products!

Daal was very foolproof and easy to make. I do think I had an expectation that this was almost an instant meal situation, which this is not. It's more of a one-step process that gets you the flavor and texture of daal without all the prep (I know I don't stock a lot of these spices!). The topping I got with it had flavors I'd never had before and added a ton of flavor (I put it on my morning ricotta toast!). I saw the instructions said to heat up the topping to release some of the flavors, and I'd be curious to see how/if that changed the flavor. Realistically though, I'm not going to saute this topping separately, especially if I continue to use it as a way to easily jazz up a quick and dirty meal.

Paro South Asian comfort foods is an amazing source of classic dinner table dishes that are easy to cook and share. I love the variety of flavors and spices they offer, such as the Tarka Oil, Kitchari, and Masoor Daal. The Tarka Oil is an umami-evoking instant flavor enhancer made with spices, ghee and grapeseed oil. Kitchari is a soup-y, stew-y superfood made with spices, fiber-rich mung beans and rice. And the Masoor Daal is a classic red lentil daal made with light, earthy spices. I have made several of Paro's dishes and they have all been delicious. If you're looking for delicious and easy to make South Asian comfort foods, I would highly recommend Paro.

great quick and healthy meal, however I wish that it had more flavor. I also wish the portion size were larger especially considering the cost.

I loved the packaging, and I loved that my box of kitchari came with an adorable tin of candied fennel seeds. However, I did not find the kitchari to be super-flavorful. And--this is just my bias--I didn't love the texture. It was easy to make, and I'd be willing to try the masoor daal. It just wasn't my favorite.

I have been on a big Ayurvedic kick lately after taking a course to learn more about the different practices and incorporating them into my routine. I have been eating Kitchari and mung beans for a few months now so I was excited to try this all-in-one kit. I took advantage of the Thingtesting offer to try Paro for free! The branding and the mission statement are very beautiful and I love how easy everything was. When I first opened the box, the serving seemed small but after cooking it, it fluffed up quite a bit. I'd say you could get two servings in one box. Since I have been eating Kitchari for months, I knew what to expect, but I found this mixture to be a bit bland. I had leftover Kitchari spice and ended up adding more spice to the dish and it tasted a lot better.

Tried Paro as a part of the thingdrop program. Liked the design and feel of the packaging. As someone who doesn't cook a ton, is unfamiliar with spices, and doesn't have lentils at home, this kit seemed ideal for me. Upon *actually* cooking one box (the kitchari), I found that it required a bit more work and effort than I anticipated. When reading the instructions, it seemed like cooking just the contents of the box would be fine as a meal. However, I felt like the box, on its own, wasn't enough as a meal, and it required the addition of vegetables and extra salt too. Would note that I forgot to add the tarka oil, so maybe that would've made the difference. I wonder if it'd be possible to add freeze-dried vegetables (and a bit more salt) so that each box contains everything needed. Overall, I thought it was fine, but I'm not sure if I'd get it again.

I received the Paro bundle through thingdrop. The Tarka is incredible, and I have already purchased additional jars. I found both the Kitchari and Daal to be watery and a little lacking in flavor. I thought I followed the instructions exactly. Not sure if that’s the nature of the product or if something went wrong.

Tasty pantry staple! Super easy to make and very flavorful. Would absolutely repurchase the masoor daal.

Very easy to make, fun packaging, delicious flavors. This really removed a barrier for me to make a related main dish, as it got the side dish right! I will be repurchasing!

We love food with lots of spice and taste and Paro does not disappoint. An easy meal that is fast and delicious for us.

I love Indian food and am trying to incorporate more Indian food into my life, and this brand makes it really easy to do that. I am not an amazing cook, but their products allow me to dip my toes into Indian cooking in a super easy way. Love it.

Enjoyed the two meals in the sampler pack. The ghee product was not my cup of tea but all is well and I enjoyed trying some new flavors. Very simple and clean ingredients, would munch again!

Love the branding and packaging. I wanted to love the taste, but I did not! I cook with a lot of Disapora Co spices and these flavors just did not live up to those.

Got a bundle of the daal, kitchari, and tarka. All really easy to make and incorporate into my daily cooking, but the flavors got washed out easily and were hard to detect unless I ate them by themselves. I would love a punchier tarka!
