  • Luxurious signature fragrances
  • Effective clarifying shampoo
  • Lightweight, shine-boosting hair oil
  • Versatile, high-performing stylers
  • Overpowering fragrance intensity
  • Inconsistent shampoo performance
  • Occasional drying, buildup issues
  • Fussy, inconvenient packaging

Ouai earns largely positive reviews for effective staples like Detox Shampoo, Leave-In Conditioner, hair oil, Air Dry Foam, and Wave Spray that leave hair clean, lightweight, shiny, and well‑scented. Reviews also flag notable drawbacks: overly strong, lingering fragrance that irritates sensitive scalps, hit‑or‑miss performance on shampoos/conditioners and masks (drying, buildup, or just “meh”), and occasional packaging frustrations (stiff conditioner bottles, finicky sprayers).

  • I tried the hair oil and it looks great with me.

  • My hair has been on the thin side since bleaching it, and the Ouai shampoo works great for my hair. The first thing I do with any product is smell the item to see if l will like the fragrance or not. The shampoo has a floral perfume scent to it, but for me l like it. My hair didn't feel oily after, I just made sure not to buy too much on the side of my scalp, because I did before and made it appear oily quickly. The formula is perfect for thin hair because the shampoo itself is an almost see-through gel, not a typical foam shampoo. The only downside is the top of my hair looks more frizzy, but l but a little bit of hair oil, and back to being down not up. I wished it gave a little bit more hydration to my hair, but it didn't make it hay straw-dried.

  • Wanted to like these products so much and tried so many of them, but they weren’t anything special.

  • My favorites are the perfume, body washes, and shampoo. Unfortunately, the products are very pricey and I can't justify purchasing them! In terms of quality, I find the quality fantastic and the perfume scent lasts for a really long time.

  • OBSEESED! I use their shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cleanser. Clean but moisturized

  • The shampoo smells great however it made my hair feel brass and frizzy afterwards

  • Smells so good. Makes my hair not frizzy. I love it.

  • I have only tried their pomade and love it! I use it to slick back my hair into a pony or bun and am constantly getting compliments or being asked what product I am using. I love that it doesn't make my hair super shiny or hard/crusty. The matte finish isn't tooo matte either which I appreciate. It really is the perfect balance IMO. The scent (frangipani) is great and the product itself washes out of my hair really well (although I do double shampoo). Note: I have fine, hair dyed blonde.

  • Mid! The hair oil is a finishing oil, so purely for shine and not nourishment. The masks are similarly superficial, and I didn't find their shampoo impressive. With that said, the smells are lovely, and I imagine (though have not tried) the candles to be similarly lovely-smelling. The packaging is nice, but no longer novel - lots of brands are offering minimal design haircare, but with effective ingredients too. Their styling pomade is just okay - I'll use it up eventually, but it hasn't changed my life/hair.

  • Love the clarifying shampoo, got it as rewards gift from Sephora and was really impressed. Everything by this company smells amazing. I want to try their perfume and body products next.

  • They're worth the expense, especially the body wash, it smell so good and help my skin stay hydrated.

  • Ouai is a staple. I have tried almost everything from this brand and have not a bad thing to say. Love the hair products (curl cream, hair mask). The body products smell great (melrose soap and shibuya body butter are my favorite) plus I even have the hand soap for my kitchen and sink. I love the packaging and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite brands.

  • I have never in my life smelled a product that smelled this good! Their salt scrub (body and scalp) is divine! I literally spent half the time showering just huffing the scent. I wish these were "clean" products, but they make using them a literally heavenly experience.

  • I use the Ouai hair mask and I like it better than olaplex. You get a generous amount of product and only need a small amount for each use, so it has lasted me many months now. It also smells amazing.

Travel size or a spray version would be nice.

  • LOVE the detox shampoo! Once a week or so, it’s great to get out any buildup!

  • I tried their spray dry shampoo. Loved the smell and the portability of the bottle. I heard such great things about it and was expecting a miracle but it didn't deliver for me.

Didn't love the texture of my hair after the dry shampoo

  • I'm probably one of Ouai's #1 fans - not going to lie. I received their Detox Shampoo as part of my FabFitFun subscription in the summer of 2021 and have been buying their brand religiously since - the shampoo, body scrub, body cream, wave spray, leave in conditioner, hair oil, hand soap, hand lotion, body wash, both perfume scents (melrose place & north bondi), and their dog shampoo. And a bunch of refills of said products (esp. the shampoo, hand soap, and perfumes as I use those the most). Their scents are just INCREDIBLE and make you feel so luxurious. I only bought the hair oil because it was cheap and I wanted to try it (I usually never use hair oil) but I loved it so much it's become a staple to my routine. I've also given the little travel sizes as gifts for my friends and family who have now also become loyal Ouai fans. I just love, love, love it. And I love that their customer service is pretty personable :)

I personally am not a big fan of the supplement lines (haven't tried it but supplements always feel kinda gimmicky to me) but hey, I don't have to love every single thing.
