Ouai impresses in reviews for effective detox shampoo, weightless-yet-smoothing hair oil, and evocative scents like St. Barts and Melrose Place, confirming the brand works for deep cleansing and soft, shiny results. However, multiple reviews flag overpowering fragrance, residue or dryness with continued use, hit-or-miss styling (especially Wave Spray), and packaging issues with thick conditioners—making performance and scent tolerance highly hair-type dependent.

Top product! Very very good!
The Ouai hair oil made my hair shiny and took away the frizz. It’s a little pricey but it’s definitely quality so it’s worth the bucks. The product lasts long too so it was worth the investment. I loved the packaging and the scent was delicate.
This brand continues to amaze me. They work great, smell great & I feel like they are reasonably affordable compared to their competitors. I really want to try their dedcool collab. I love their perfumes & scents of hair products, so I have a feeling this collab is another success.
I like Ouai basically for the scents.... I haven't noticed anything huge in terms of results or anything else, but the scent of the shampoo/conditioner is just great and lasts all day!
I tried Ouai’s Detox Shampoo and it’s amazing! It left my scalp feeling super clean without drying out my hair. It’s effective but still gentle, and my hair felt fresh and bouncy afterward. I’ll be using this regularly!
I know Ouai gets a lot of praise on the internet, but I haven't found anything particularly crazy revolutionary about their products. I found their shampoo to be so-so. Felt like it dried my hair out. Much prefer other conditioners to theirs. Smells nice, but not something I'd go out of my way to purchase again.

I have tried the Ouai Detox Shampoo, Fine Hair Shampoo, Rose Hair & Body Oil, Wave Spray, and Matte Pomade. Both the shampoos work well with my hair. My scalp is refreshed and my hair feels "lifted" (plus obviously smells amazing). The Detox Shampoo works better for me than the Fine Hair Shampoo. The bottles look great in my shower and aren't screaming at me (so the aesthetic is pleasing to the eye). Also, it's great that Ouai offers refills. 👏 The Rose Hair & Body Oil product was fine, but I feel like other hair oils have worked better with my hair. The Matte Pomade was a product I bought to use for styling a "slicked-back" look. I don't feel like I use it enough to comment on its effectiveness. I'm positive if I used only a small amount it would be a great product to fight any small frizz. I have also tested the North Bondi fragrance. I find the scent to be a little too "strong" (in a not-so-pleasant way). I'm not a huge fan of this scent, even though I LOVE that the scent is the same as my Detox Shampoo. It works so well in the shampoo formulation - not too overpowering. I've also tested the St. Bart's Scalp and Body Scrub - and this stuff smells SO GOOD. Like a tropical holiday in the Caribbean. 🌴

I wish Ouai would bottle the St. Bart's fragrance into a perfume. I honestly LOVE the smell so much. I also hope they don't discontinue this product (it's listed as a limited edition). 💔
I was gifted a perfume from them and tried a free sample of their shampoo. The shampoo left my hair feeling sooo soft and clean, and the perfume was really lovely. I swear by Paul Mitchell hair products usually, but Ouai was a refreshing little change!

Such an amazing brand! It took me a while to try this - I think I've been poisoned by super hyped brands and the disappointment they bring - but Ouai actually lives up to the hype! Especially with their rebrand in choosing for your hair type, they're amazing! It smells so good too!
I tried the hair oil and it looks great with me.
The st barts body wash and the body cream is my favorite smell and item in the world, it makes my skin feel so smooth and my friends at work always compliment the way I smell when I put it on, god I love it
My hair has been on the thin side since bleaching it, and the Ouai shampoo works great for my hair. The first thing I do with any product is smell the item to see if l will like the fragrance or not. The shampoo has a floral perfume scent to it, but for me l like it. My hair didn't feel oily after, I just made sure not to buy too much on the side of my scalp, because I did before and made it appear oily quickly. The formula is perfect for thin hair because the shampoo itself is an almost see-through gel, not a typical foam shampoo. The only downside is the top of my hair looks more frizzy, but l but a little bit of hair oil, and back to being down not up. I wished it gave a little bit more hydration to my hair, but it didn't make it hay straw-dried.
Wanted to like these products so much and tried so many of them, but they weren’t anything special.
My favorites are the perfume, body washes, and shampoo. Unfortunately, the products are very pricey and I can't justify purchasing them! In terms of quality, I find the quality fantastic and the perfume scent lasts for a really long time.

OBSEESED! I use their shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cleanser. Clean but moisturized
Yes it was good
Love it!
The shampoo smells great however it made my hair feel brass and frizzy afterwards
Smells so good. Makes my hair not frizzy. I love it.
I have only tried their pomade and love it! I use it to slick back my hair into a pony or bun and am constantly getting compliments or being asked what product I am using. I love that it doesn't make my hair super shiny or hard/crusty. The matte finish isn't tooo matte either which I appreciate. It really is the perfect balance IMO. The scent (frangipani) is great and the product itself washes out of my hair really well (although I do double shampoo). Note: I have fine, hair dyed blonde.
