Cotopaxi earns enthusiastic reviews for vibrant, sustainability-driven gear that performs—standouts like the Allpa Travel Pack and Fuego Down Jacket draw praise for clever organization, comfort, and durability—yet mixed feedback questions consistency, with reports of loose threads, fabric scuffs, color unpredictability, and occasional tears. The brand delights with unique Del Día colorways, roomy pockets, and travel-ready designs, but sizing runs large for some, certain apparel lines feel less robust, and select items show stains or wear quickly.

Cotopaxi is an awesome brand with a great mission focused on sustainability and giving back. Their products are well-made, colorful, and built for adventure. The quality holds up well over time, and I love that they use recycled materials. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it for the durability and ethical focus!
Such great quality and love the color combos. I've practically lived in my fleece the past few winters and not one tear or hole. My fleece still looks like I just bought it.
I love my fanny pack and backpack! I love how colorful they are and how much they can carry.
Recently purchased a hat with a sick design and was super stoked to wear it. When it arrived, i realized it wasn't adjustable, which was a bit odd and annoying as it was a bit tighter than I like, but love the company's mission and most products!
A really great mission-driven company. Everything I've owned from Cotopaxi has felt really high quality and has stood the test of time. There's a lot of personality and funness in their products. Really stands its own to something like Patagonia and is a great place for outdoor gear!
One of my favorite outdoors brands. I have their technical pack and it's perfect for day hiking or skiing, with lots of straps for carabiners and clipping on gear. It's lasted through 2+ years of fairly rough use with no signs of slowing down. Plus the sustainability focus of the brand is super admirable. Will definitely come back for more gear.

Sucha cool brand. Cute one-of-its-kind color schemes and great quality. I own a a fleece pullover jacket and Bataan 3L pack which is the perfect size to take on a hike or the gym. Happy to support this brand and their mission!
Love this brand's mission and really appreciate the lifetime warranty and repairs. It reminds me a lot of Patagonia or LL Bean (before LL Bean pulled back on their return policy) - but I haven't had to use it yet for the pack I have!
have one of their hiking backpack - durable, lightweight. fun & unique colors!
I used the Cotopaxi Allpa 42L Travel Pack as my only bag to backpack around Europe for 3 months and it was absolutely perfect. I love all the pockets and how it folds open. It was small enough to be a carry-on but big enough to fit everything I needed.
Love their mission, and the products are really distinctive because of the colour-blocking.
So colorful! I am glad now you can pick the colorways because before I did not like being surprised.

Love this brand! I love that they have “Del Dia” options and you get a random color combination. Years ago you were able to choose, but I still like the element of surprise. The quality is awesome and from a design standpoint it really stands out compared to traditional outdoor gear.
I have the Allpa Travel Pack, Fuego Down Jacket, as well as a pair of leggings and t-shirt from Cotopaxi. The Allpa is great because it essentially has built in zip organizers which is exactly what I was looking for, without having to use separate packing cubes. The women's clothing sizing runs slightly on the large or "comfort fit" size, at least compared to brands like Nike. I would say some Cotopaxi items are better in quality than others, I wasn't super impressed with some of the other jacket / vest lines besides Fuego. I have had a couple loose threads across the board, but no other real issues beyond that.
Love the values for making ethically designed gear! I have a few things- a fanny pack and a backpack- and I love the mix of colors. If you're picky about colors, best to buy in store so you can take your pick of the color combos that are there. Very durable and well-made, have held up to a lot of adventures so far!
I have the cross-body fanny and it's great! Lightweight and carries **a lot**. Colors are a lot of fun too :)
I have a backpack from Cotopaxi. I like how light it is, cute, and easy to tote around. I don't like how it doesn't have that many pockets and the design isn't completely functional.

Great customer service and good quality hiking bags that have lasted me over ten years.

I love Cotopaxi! I was just browsing their store and didn’t plan on purchasing anything, but I tried on a pair of shorts and couldn’t leave without them. So comfortable, so high quality, and made with recycled materials. What else could you want?

I have always had trouble with finding the right size with “outdoor brands” as a shorter man (5’4, 140 lbs). I was pleasantly surprised with the sizing options! Give this brand a try if you have had trouble elsewhere (looking at you, Columbia)!

In addition to owning several Cotopaxi products including several of their bags and fleeces, I used to work at a retail store that carried them. I consistently found that people would return them because they would get damaged (such as rips / tears or snags) or be hard to clean (easily showing stains / marks) or would just look worn out quickly. I found similar issues for the products I owned. While I think Cotopaxi makes eye catching, interesting products, I don't think they're very good quality and I don't think they're worth the money.
