Reviews mention

  • Vibrant colorways and personality
  • Clever organizational backpack layout
  • Comfortable warmth in fleeces
  • Sustainability-focused material sourcing
  • Inconsistent product durability reports
  • Occasional loose stitching flaws
  • Color accuracy varies online
  • Limited pockets on some bags

Cotopaxi earns enthusiastic reviews for vibrant, sustainability-driven gear that performs—standouts like the Allpa Travel Pack and Fuego Down Jacket draw praise for clever organization, comfort, and durability—yet mixed feedback questions consistency, with reports of loose threads, fabric scuffs, color unpredictability, and occasional tears. The brand delights with unique Del Día colorways, roomy pockets, and travel-ready designs, but sizing runs large for some, certain apparel lines feel less robust, and select items show stains or wear quickly.

  • I love this raincoat so much! It was perfect purchase when I got it in Seattle a few years ago and traveled all over to explore the tulips in Mt. Vernon and Snoqualmie Falls. I travel often to various places all over the U.S. and internationally for work, and I'll always pack this raincoat for a trip if I see rain is in the forecast. I love the length and the big hood, and it doesn't make me feel suffocated. Cotopaxi sizes have always run a little large on me. I'm typically a Small (4-6), but I ordered this raincoat in an XS and it fits me perfectly.

  • My boyfriend and I love this brand for its dedication to ethical and sustainable practices. We love the colorful options and we have several types of bags that we use for travel and day hikes. My boyfriend also likes their clothing.

  • Such cute bags & I love the concept of utilizing scraps and leftovers leaving nothing to waste. You don’t know exactly what you are getting but they are all super cool. And I now have a few products from the brand

  • This is my first purchase from Cotopaxi and I couldn't possibly be more excited about my new Allpa 28L Travel Pack. Everything about this item is unique. From it being made of 100% leftover fabric, to the suitcase style design which features a pass through strap that easily slides over a roller bag handle. This bag was designed to be both carry-on compatible and suitable as a personal item. Its beautiful bright colors will easily distinguish your bag from others. I love that Cotopaxi found a way to utilize material that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. While the price is a bit steep, you really get what you pay for with this product. Plus, they donate 1% of all revenue to support communities around the world. Making it well worth every penny. Who wouldn't want to support this brand and do a good deed while doing so?!

  • I love Cotopaxi! I have the GoodDog collar and leash and the (human) Bataan fanny pack from the Cotopaxi x Wolfgang collab. I also have a brightly colored, water-resistant rain jacket/pullover with a hood.

  • I love Cotopaxi. The items are so colorful and high quality. This pullover is so cozy and keeps me warm in the fall when walking or camping. I love how the items last forever and are durable. The belt bags are so cute too

  • My husband loves this Mente 15L messenger bag for work - sporty, sustainable, and high quality materials, but also professional. Only disappointment was that the bag went on sale within 3 days of purchase and Cotopaxi did not price match the 40% price drop.

  • My Fuego jacket is literally the perfect jacket. I wear it in both spring and fall and get compliments on it constantly! These products aren't cheap (so I wait for a sale!) but I think they are worth it :)

  • Cotopoxi makes a lot of fun products including a really nice duffle bag that I got several years ago and it has really held up. I love all the pockets and how it expands. I keep some towels and linens in it just for good storage. You can use it on camping trips to have your extra gear in. It is great! Highly recommend.

  • I have a Cotapaxi hip pack that was issued as a collaboration with Bombas. The color scheme, the utility level, and the mission statement are all of the highest possible order. I cannot recommend this brand enough.

  • I think I may be obsessed with Cotopaxi! I love the brand's mission and the quality of their shirts, hats, and jackets are great as well. I've also had a chance to visit their store in Utah and it is awesome (definitely recommend checking it out if you're in town).

  • I really love this brand for their outdoor gear. I think the color ways they have are very cute and unique. I have a fleece jacket that I wear all the time in the winter. The quality is very good. I would highly recommend this brand .

  • I have a few things from Cotopaxi and love each one. My small backpack is a great size for the essentials for a day. I've taken it on day hikes, mountain bike rides, mountain biking, skiing, etc. I have a larger pack/duffel that I use for ~week-long trips and it's easy to carry and fits a /lot/ of stuff. Very convenient. Gifted my mom a puffer jacket and it immediately became her favorite thing in her closet. I have borrowed it from her because I love the color combo and it keeps you very warm. Also, the mismatching color combos are always so great. I don't know color theory but they always nail it.

  • Love the brand initiative and the quality/fun color scheme. Own a super cool dop kit that came with Ursa Minor products. This is high quality seems, zipper and super lightweight for travel. Cheers to Cotopaxi! Summer 2025 update - everyday travel kit. Super light / stretchy is awesome

    Keep innovating!

  • I have multiple Cotopaxi products (backpack, fanny pack, leggings, etc.) and everything is so well made. For clothing, I find they are very spot on with sizing, and the color ways are very fun. The backpacks and fanny packs are very fun, colorful, and ethically made. My only quip is that you really have to see the selection in person to get the color way you'll like, otherwise ordering online you don't necessarily know what you'll end up getting.

  • I love my Cotopaxi bag!! It’s so versatile and I use it constantly. I love the wide variety of bag they sell. The only thing I wish they had was the option to pick what colors you wanted instead of it being random

  • I got a COTOPAXI hip pack as a birthday gift 6 MONTH ago, I was so happy for it since I really wanted one of those. But now Iam so DESAPPOINTED because the bag started tearing the front pocket (it is a new bag!) and COTOPAXI told me I should put a tape (that they provided) on it. Besides being aesthetically ugly, it DID NOT solve the issue. Now they say there is nothing else they can do and it IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!

  • Colorful designs and sustainable. Perhaps not the most durable.

  • Cotopaxi products are worth every penny. Their company mission is why I made my initial purchase, and their backpacks, clothing and duffles kept me returning again and again-colorful, solid & variety!

  • I have only shopped in store for this brand. I think the mission is incredible, I love that they are working to help support people living below the poverty line. They have lots of colorful outdoor gear and clothes, which can often be hard to find. I have their packing cubes and a fanny pack, both of which used scraps from other items to create a completely unique product that's eliminating waste at the same time!
