  • Cafe-level flavor consistency

  • Smooth, strong iced lattes
  • Excessive packaging waste
  • Freezer-space requirements
  • Limited box customization
  • Occasional bitter flavor notes

Cometeer Coffee earns strong reviews for delivering cafe-level flavor and exceptional convenience—flash‑frozen capsules dissolve into smooth, fresh‑tasting coffee that shines for iced lattes and quick hot cups—yet the brand draws criticism for excessive packaging, freezer-space demands, and subscription frustrations. Reviews also note inconsistent customization of roasters/flavors, occasional damaged or melted pods, and a few complaints of bitter taste or very high caffeine, making it outstanding for speed and variety but imperfect for sustainability purists or those wary of subscriptions.

  • Love this coffee. Yes, its expensive, but the quality is evident, the packaging is recyclable, and the convenience is unbeatable.

  • I've tried and liked Cometeer pods. The only thing is they are so expensive!

  • It's a very unique concept in delivering the best flavor in coffee. I chose the light roast bundle. I was happy to be one of the 1st ones to try it. Here is what I like: coffee roasted and brewed to its perfection and then packed in frozen cups. I have had coffee 100's of different ways, each being its own ritual of morning just getting started. I get to experience top-notch coffee roasters from the country. I have to say that this validated why Central & SouthAmerican coffees are by far my favorites, and why I do not prefer African coffees from Ethiopia or Kenya. Another thing I like is the transparent nature to which Cometeer takes sustainability responsibly. From the packaging for shipping to the canisters when contain the frozen coffee brick can be reused, repurposed, or recycled.

The other two coffees from Africa; good roasters, but the coffee is just not for me. This is the only reason why I gave rating of 3, because the other two coffees were just not to my liking. At least I tried them I hope to be able to pick and choose my favorite boxes moving forward where I can mix and match based on my preferences. The image above of just dropping a brick of coffee in hot water is not accurate, at least based on my 1st experience. It may be because it was super hot on the day the package was delivered and the dry ice may have evaporated a lot faster. It may have refroze causing it to loose its shape. Please make sure to refreeze the coffee pods when you get them into the house.

  • I didn't want to like Cometeer. I thought it seemed like another unnecessary coffee delivery system and I was pretty happy with my own methods. I have been totally proven wrong. The pods are so easy to use and are so foolproof, especially if you have an electric kettle. The flavor is noticeably amazing--I'm not a coffee snob so usually don't notice the difference in taste but really could with these blends! I haven't tried them iced because it's been cold and the hot version is so easy, but when I reorder I definitely will. I'd especially recommend these if you have a normal somewhat complicated/time intensive coffee routine, and want some options that are a bit faster. They're a bit expensive for me to have every day, but would love to keep them around as a easy special treat.

  • A little in the expensive side, but they make a really great cup of coffee! I love having them in the office to make a quick americano or iced coffee. I prefer them to nespresso for my morning coffee. Changing subscriptions is super easy and I love that it’s curated for me, so I get to try new roasts/blends without any thought in my part!

  • Cometeer makes remarkably good coffee. I was skeptical of these flash-frozen pods, but truly, the end result is an extremely fresh-tasting, high quality cup of coffee. I prefer using them to make iced coffee, which I do by letting a pod defrost in the fridge the night before, but they're good for hot coffee too. I just prefer my decidedly inefficient pour-over method for that.

I tried to convince my office to replace our janky coffee with Cometeer, but it's too pricey for that. I think it might be possible to convince them if there were some sort of bulk discount or bigger subscription deal, but approx. $2 for every cup of coffee an employee drinks is a lot for most companies.

  • Yes, it tastes good, but I'm not sure I'm the target audience. I think I can taste the notes they advertise, but I'm pretty happy with my espresso machine. Definitely strong–supposedly three shots and makes me clean the whole apartment. However, takes up a lot of freezer space and is a little frustrate to defrost (I'm impatient).

  • I recently gave into the hype to try Cometeer Coffee out! I like the variety offered, and the simplicity. The coffees taste very smooth and are super easy to prepare. They partner with small roasters! The time between order & delivery was less than 2 days, which was also a nice surprise.

I wonder if this is the most efficient way to consume coffee? Requires a freezer (and to take up lots of freezer space :( ). Also, each pod creates trash. Albeit the company has produced those with 100% aluminum for safe recycling!

  • One of the coolest ways to have your coffee! It's a super high quality cup of Joe that takes no time to make. I was definitely skeptical at first, but I don't think there's any convenient coffee solution like it in taste and quality. I'm incredibly impressed.

I'd love for it not to be frozen because it takes up a good amount of space in my freezer. But maybe I need to buy less frozen meals to make room for this delicious coffee!

  • Cometeer is perfect for my lifestyle, but I don't know if it's for everybody. I love iced coffee and my partner loves hot coffee, so the subscription works well for us. We also live in an apartment with a small kitchen so don't have the room (or real need) for a big coffee set up. The coffee tastes good and is strong. I haven't tried to make any other drinks other than hot and cold plain coffee. I've had some issues with the tracking on the new subscriptions not being correct, but otherwise no complaints. Would love different special edition coffee flavors.

  • Really cool concept and technology that preserves the tasting notes of coffee. The coffees I’ve gotten have all been delicious and cafe-quality, with minimal effort. Like even less effort than making coffee at home. But it IS more expensive, so I did end up cancelling, especially as the amount of packaging it came with every shipment. I know you need the dry ice to keep the coffee frozen, but I think they could innovate on the packaging to use less materials. Maybe they’ll have corporate subscriptions in the future? I think targeting offices could reduce the amount of waste since they could ship more pods with less packaging (plus, office coffees everywhere really need an upgrade.)

  • We LOVE Cometeer Coffee in our house! They partner with some of our favorite roasters (Hi, Counter Culture Coffee!) and it's so delicious! I've had plenty of coffee concentrates that didn't quite hit the mark, but hot or cold, Cometeer is on point. We keep them in our freezer for whenever we need an easy second cup during our work day!

  • Obsessed with Cometeer. I had a great experience ordering, shipping came quickly and was communicated well, and the product itself tastes great. I've tried the regular and the decaf variety packs and didn't have a flavor that I disliked. Hard to go wrong on a Cometeer order!

  • I really enjoyed Cometeer. The convenience is remarkable. Haven't reordered yet as I love my regular drip-over routine. Only ever had it black & it did make a good cup.

  • I tried it on a friend's invite and for me it was...fine. But I know other folks who love it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's some kind of frozen, fresh-brewed coffee concentrate. Comes out to about $2 per cup. I felt uncomfortable with the amount of packaging to ship. If you love one of the coffees you might love it. Or you might like it to keep at the office or your in-laws or someplace else where you don't have your preferred setup? If this doesn't come across as wildly enthusiastic, that's because it's not. But if you're their ideal customer, or just Cometeer-curious, or are suffering from frozen-concentrate-FOMO then enjoy!

Keep working on the sustainability and flavor.

  • Ordered this because of hype and am mostly happy with it! Cometeer tastes great, has many options to choose from, and is easy to make. Personally, it doesn't fit into my daily coffee routine because I already had a system that I really liked. BUT, I am glad I have these in my freezer for when I want a quick coffee or a coffee to-go. Also, it's so easy to make an iced latte with Cometeer so that's been a big draw during the summer. I use my Cometeer pods so unregularly that I've paused my subscription, but when I do run out I'll place another order. It's nice to have on hand.

Price is expensive and there's a lot of packaging. I'm glad the packaging is recyclable but I still don't feel great when I'm using it.

  • Super quick, literally pour over hot water. Best tasting instant coffee I've ever had.

    Feedback

I like being able to try different coffees as well. The only thing I'd change is to make it a bit more affordable

  • Every Cometeer pod I've tried has tasted fantastic. The only issue is the amount of waste I feel this product produces. I would never be a longer term subscriber but it's a great option for a great tasting cup in a pinch.
