Reviews mention

  • Cafe-level flavor consistency
  • Ultra-convenient brewing experience
  • Impressive roaster partnerships
  • Smooth, strong iced lattes
  • Excessive packaging waste
  • Freezer-space requirements
  • Limited box customization
  • Occasional bitter flavor notes

Cometeer Coffee earns strong reviews for delivering cafe-level flavor and exceptional convenience—flash‑frozen capsules dissolve into smooth, fresh‑tasting coffee that shines for iced lattes and quick hot cups—yet the brand draws criticism for excessive packaging, freezer-space demands, and subscription frustrations. Reviews also note inconsistent customization of roasters/flavors, occasional damaged or melted pods, and a few complaints of bitter taste or very high caffeine, making it outstanding for speed and variety but imperfect for sustainability purists or those wary of subscriptions.

  • literally got rid of my coffee grinder and brewing gadgets because this is so simple and delicious. Amazing innovation.

    nothing. These rock.

  • This coffee is so smooth and rich. I ordered the sampler pack and have been really enjoying the dark roast as a cold brew with oat milk. Tastes like it came right from a coffee shop. My only issue is the shipment packaging and how much waste it creates. That's the only bummer with ordering a frozen product. I really hope they are able to get into some retailers soon! This is really good stuff.

Not sure how possible this is, but any way to reduce waste with the shipment packaging.

  • Received early entry to this subscription product and it is amazing! You can make cold or hot coffee and it really is delicious. Multiple flavors and strengths to choose

Watch out for the strength of the bold coffee, mucho caffeine!

  • Been drinking Cometeer nonstop for a year - I love the product (as does everyone I share it with) and variety, and especially love that they include decaf and half-caf options for people like me ;).

    More flavors, more recipes!

  • I’m obsessed! So easy and delicious. I love an ice coffee and the flavor is intense so you only need one cube. I wish there were more in the package. A little expensive but worth it.

  • It comes across as innovative and a new way to do everyday coffee, but it's not "cool" enough to beat my regular pot of coffee at home. I could see it being more beneficial for those who like a strong ice coffee, but honestly seems like a lot of waste even though the capsule are recyclable. There was really nothing mindblowing about this coffee and I'd rather invest in other coffee appliances to make an assortment of different drinks.

  • Phenomenal experience overall. Cometeer captures the essence of drinking high quality coffee in as convenient of a way as possible. I couldn't recommend the product more to anyone who wants all of the difficult parts of sourcing, brewing and packing your coffee taken care of. Consistent and delicious coffee ready to go has been an amazing way to get the morning started.

  • I appreciate that these pods are recyclable. I’ve tried coffee from 5 different roasters and they all have a slight chemical taste. For anyone who is used to drinking Keurig coffee regularly, these are likely a step up, but I wouldn’t say these capture the flavor and complexity of the specialty roasters they feature.

  • high quality + minimal time Love the optionality and ease with which cometeer delivers their quality. I feel the same 'waste factor' as kcups with their packaging, which is the main reason for a 4/5 vs. 5/5 gets the approval from my coffee aficionado husband as well as yours truly (not a coffee aficionado person), so seems to check off all of the boxes!

  • I keep waiting for instant coffee to level up and Cometeer is a really strong contender for how instant coffee should be sold. I only tried one of the Onyx blends and used it as an iced coffee. I was surprised by how complex the flavors were. I would like to try more someday but definitely not ready for a subscription and am pretty turned off by the subscription pricing model.

As for the packaging, I know it says the aluminum capsule is recyclable but I find it hard to believe that small amount is going to be reused. I like to think it is though as all of us wishful recyclers do...

  • I've been using Cometeer for over 2 years now and I am a BIG fan! I feel sacrilegious ditching the 'ritual' of coffee making in the morning, but wow the flavor is 11/10. It's literally as if I just ordered a freshly brewed cup of coffee from my favorite coffee shop every morning for a quarter of the effort. I also really love how quick I can make a cup when I have a busier morning. And these pods (after melting under warm water) make a PERFECT affogato shot - not a typical at-home luxury. Lately I've gotten back into using my Chemex with freshly ground coffee and mixing in Cometeer days when I feel a little lazier. But honestly Cometeer always tastes a little bit better.... You have to carve out space in your freezer to store the pods, but it's pretty dang compact for the amount. And a great bang for your buck!! Also very fun each cycle to see the new collection of roasters and learning about new ones.

  • I discovered Cometeer at a Marketing Summit, in desperate need of a strong coffee... I immediately fell in love and have been a subscriber ever since. What I love: 1. The coffee comes in recyclable pods (I am very anti-Keurig pods) and is freeze-dried, which can easily become a hot or cold coffee in minutes. 2. The coffee is STRONG if you want it to be, you add the water so it's up to you! I like the dark/medium combo pack the best. 3. They work with small-batch roasters, I love that some are local (to nyc) and some are international. 4. Delivery is scheduled and always prompt, so I can plan to be home when they arrive and pop them directly into my freezer. 5. They're referral program. There are some really cool rewards and brand partnerships. Plus, I always appreciate a program that rewards the new customer AND the loyal customer!

I don't have negative or constructive feedback for Cometeer, I've had nothing but a positive experience. One consideration is that it can be a bit pricey, not in comparison to your Starbucks order, but it's not an insubstantial monthly cost. If you are looking to try it for the first time but don't want to commit to the $ look for a friend with a referral code or wait for their occasional promotion. I don't drink coffee every day so I find it worth the cost!

  • I am a big fan of Cometeer. The coffee was excellent and it produces my favorite at home iced lattes.

    Feedback

I don't love all the packaging and dry ice used to ship, but I just buy in bulk to reduce shipping waste.

  • What a fascinating and very fun experience. These frozen coffee cubes make a delicious cuppa and I love that it works for iced or hot! Amazing packaging and love the partnerships with specific roasters.

  • Basically the only way that we drink our coffee now for over a year. We've gifted these and have everyone we know hooked on them. The coffee is super high quality, tastes amazing, super easy to make, and really sustainable. Never looking back! Also amazing for offices.

  • Not a huge coffee drinker so tried the decaf since we had some in the office. Super dope experience, extremely easy and surprisingly great coffee. Love their branding too.

Maybe non coffee flavors like matcha? I would buy that in a heart beat

  • OBESSED. As someone who loves the coffee shop experience, cometeer is closest thing to having the same quality right in your home. The taste is great, branding is fantastic, and their roasters are the best. Also, the perfect amount of caffeine.
