Reviews mention

  • Addictive signature fragrance
  • Effective dry shampoo
  • Rich, nourishing masks
  • Versatile repair treatments
  • Overpowering fragrance intensity
  • Heavy formulas on fine hair
  • Inconsistent line performance
  • Potential scalp irritation

Amika earns largely positive reviews for effective, great-smelling hair care—especially Perk Up dry shampoo, Soulfood Nourishing Mask, and The Kure repair line—suggesting the brand works for many hair types. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: heavy, lingering fragrance, occasional residue or heaviness on fine hair, mixed results across lines, and reports of scalp irritation or hair loss for some, plus durability issues with a hot tool.

  • I've used the shampoo and conditioner from The Kure line multiple times. It's a staple in my haircare rotation -- even if I take breaks from the brand I usually end up going back. Love that their products are sulfate and paraben-free, plus they smell amazing.

  • I have a couple of their products but my favorite is the mousse! I have thin hair and it sometimes needs a boost if I want to dress it up for a special occasion. I also love the smell!

  • OMG -- their dry shampoo? Life changing. I broke my leg, and this stuff has helped me look presentable to the world.

  • I love the dry shampoo and I also have a wave maker hot iron thingy that works really well and I like the design :)

  • Ive been a big fan of Amika for a while, so when I fried my hair with a home bleaching experiment just before the holidays I knew just what I needed. I got the kure intense bond repair mask and dream routine overnight hydrating hair mask and after just one application of each, my hair is *so much* softer and more manageable. As an added bonus my husband keeps telling me how great my hair smells. I also swear by the scalp treatment during the summer to keep my scalp squeaky clean.

  • I use the bust your brass purple shampoo and conditioner on my color-treated (bleached) hair and it does a great job maintaining a bright blonde look instead of a faded, orange tone. I used to use it almost every day but recently have been using it 2-3 times a week (mixing in Pureology) and I have seen better effects while extending the time it takes me to use all the product. Also - the wizard detangling mist smells AMAZING (my roommate bought it just for the scent). I think it works well for detangling too but honestly, I now use it more for the scent.

The bust. your brass conditioner is not very good for detangling. I usually need to use another type of conditioner afterward when my hair is extra dry or tangled.

  • Fun packaging! Effective product! Good prices! Great smell! Nothing not to like except that some of their products might be too similar!

    Better labeling of products !

  • Meh, I think the stuff is very okay. I like that it's readily available and easy to find in anything from Sephora to Target to CVS but that's where the positives end for me.

The dry shampoo works in a pinch but the smell is a bit overwhelming.

  • Curls for the girls get taken care of by Anika! Everything works on my TIGHT 4c curls and my bathroom is packed with the oils they provide, I’d highly rec for those who wanna grow out their hair to shop here!

  • Amika was recommended by my hairdresser. I tried it once and fell in love with the smell amazing 🤩 every product. I’ve tried has been fabulous for my hair. It is a little bit over my usual target for spending on hair products however it is well worth it and it lasts twice as much as any other product I’ve tried.

  • I use the hair mask when I do my everything shower. A little bit goes a long way, it smells nice and leaves my curls feeling hydrated and soft.

  • a luxe brand that you can get at Sephora and ulta. love everything that I have tried before and love the range that targets curly hair.

  • I just tried the amika Repair shampoo + conditioner and it was good! Definitely felt that the shampoo gave me a deep clean, and the conditioner left my hair feeling buttery. I did feel like it left a bit of a residue, but that could be because I usually use a different set of hair wash. My hair didn’t feel too different after it had dried, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say this product is ineffective.

  • Best dry shampoo I have found so far, and I've been through quite a few! The scent isn't so overpowering, and my hair + scalp actually feels refreshed rather than dry and crusty. The shampoos are also amazing, I love the Normcore. The line of hydration and treatments really does work, and also smells divine.

Amika is a great line for exceptional haircare without breaking the bank!

  • Amika's Pre-Shampoo Color Seal is EVERYTHING! This product has saved my color-treated hair over the past few appointments. I like to do this mask the night before or morning of my next hair appt and have noticed a big difference in my hair texture after my first post-appt wash. can't wait to try more from this brand!

  • I'm pretty basic when it comes to hair and body care. Although I recently went blonde, so I was on the lookout for purple shampoo and toner drops. Amika's price point, quality, and fragrance were incredible. I was able to maintain my hairs color and the toner drops were a unique take on toner. It was a small boost to add in my hair that made it feel like I just left the salon. Would highly recommend for color treated hair.

  • my salon, always uses these products and has given me samples in the past. The scents are unbeatable. I’m not even someone who values fragrance above all, but every product smells absolutely delicious. Not only that, they work, wonderfully with curly or wavy hair. No crunch, no grease.
