Amika earns largely positive reviews for effective, great-smelling hair care—especially Perk Up dry shampoo, Soulfood Nourishing Mask, and The Kure repair line—suggesting the brand works for many hair types. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: heavy, lingering fragrance, occasional residue or heaviness on fine hair, mixed results across lines, and reports of scalp irritation or hair loss for some, plus durability issues with a hot tool.

I've found the products I've used to be pretty good but nothing very special or worth the money. The packaging is beautiful and really fun but overall I find the products and hair styling tools to be over-priced.

I always need a hair oil to use on my very dry, frizzy and breakage-prone hair. I like to use on my ends when it’s damp or dried. I have very fine hair and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. It has a very light and pleasant scent. It’s more serum like than oil. I love using Amika products on my hair. It feels good on my hair and I like that it doesn’t make my hair feel oily or greasy.

I found the “mirrorball” line to be too heavy for my fine hair, but their other items like the SoulFood Mask, The Kure, and Dry Shampoo are all winners in my book! I appreciate the fun packaging.

The amika dry shampoo and the dry shampoo plus knock it out of the park for me! Not only do they work amazing, they smell so good! My husband always asks “what’s in your hair” when I use this. Also I dry shampoo directly after blow drying to stop grease before it starts

I love the thicc volumizing base. When I use this stuff when blow drying my hair it gives me insane volume. I don’t really love the consistency of the product but boy does it work. This is my go to for when I want ridiculously big and sexy hair.

After being very impressed with a sample I got from a beauty event, I decided to pick up a full-size version of this brand’s dry shampoo. Considering that it takes me quite a while to do my hair after washing, I like to keep my hair down for a few days before I put it up. I am very sensitive to how my scalp feels, and even a day after washing my scalp and hair don’t feel the same and I hate feeling oily. Amika’s dry shampoo seemed to be a big improvement over the current dry shampoo I was using. The fragrance was a lot more subtle and the mist it sprayed went away a lot more easily (nobody wants their hair to be white from the powder!). So it was a better experience overall. I’m just not sure dry shampoo is the solution for me as I still don’t feel great most days when my hair is down unless I just washed it. It definitely calls for more experimentation but I am basically out of my current bottle. As I don’t feel like I used it a ton, it’s a bit pricy for what you get. I think for anyone that knows dry shampoo is a good solution for them, this is a great quality product. I also want to note that this brand is on Terracycle, and you can recycle most of their products for free! Love to see brands that have that option when most things aren’t locally recyclable, even if the packaging says it might be.

I really like this dry shampoo. I bought this to use while on vacation. I have wavy frizzy hair so I like to straighten it before going on vacations because it's easier to manage, just brush and go. After a couple days my roots start to look a little oily. This dry shampoo takes care of that. It doesn't leave a white residue.. It has a nice clean scent. It definitely kept my hair looking clean for a week.

generally receives positive reviews for its ability to smooth and hydrate hair, reducing frizz without weighing it down. Many users appreciate the product's ease of use and its quick application time, often stating they can achieve smooth, frizz-free results in just 60 seconds.

Worked very good . but pricy and I definitely had to use this after my shampoo . I switched most of my products for this brand. I love it because it doesn't leave that white residue behind and really makes my hair smell great. The key ingredients smells incredible

I like the amika line overall. I have used a number of products but haven’t found any of them to be so impactful that I repurchase once they are empty. I wish they had a non aerosol dry shampoo and some of the scents can be a little heavy for me. The biggest issue I have is the price point, I’ve actually found some products from Amika at TJMaxx and am happier to pay that price.

I really wanted to love the dry shampoo, but it fell flat, literally. I have oily roots and thin straight hair. Love the smell, packaging, and it didn't leave any residue...but there wasn't really a big enough oomf to make it worth it for me. I liked The Cure conditioning mask, trying this set next (soul food mask) for thinner straight hair. TBD

Amika's product range has been a mix of hits and misses for me. On the positive side, their dry shampoo is a clear winner – it leaves no white residue, adds volume, and gives my hair a fresh, just-showered appearance. It's become a staple in my routine. However, my experience with their hydration line shampoo and conditioner was less than stellar. Despite investing in the extra-large bottles and using them for over a year, I didn't notice any positive change. If anything, my hair felt drier and more brittle. It's a reminder that what works for one person may not work for another, and in this case, the hydration line fell short of my expectations.

I love the soul food hair mask. My hair is instantly softer with a just a small amount of product, so the large tub has lasted me over a year. I’ve used this as a replacement for deep conditioning my hair. Forever repurchase.

Amika's hair products are my new obsession! The gloss makes my hair shiny and smooth between salon visits, and the scalp oil has saved my life. My bestie is now a huge fan too!

Their dry shampoo smells so good and the travel size is perfect for any makeup bag. But ultimately I didn't find that it did what it was supposed to do, and my hair felt greasy by the end of the day. Super cute and fun packaging though.

I’ve been using the Amika flash, instant shine mask, for my hair for almost a year and I love it. The smell ALONE is one of my favorite parts!! Not to mention, one bottle has lasted me almost a year as well! I put a good amount in my hair, and let it sit for about 5 min while I finish the rest of my shower. My hair is so soft and definitely shiny. In love.

I like a lot the ingredients of the new line, Mirrorball! The hair is amazing after using the shampoo, I suggest to absolutely use it with its conditioner, I could tell the difference from the other products. My hair is smelling good but what’s more important is that they’re more healthy than before. They shine and they’re softer on the touch.

I love their stuff. My hair stylist turned me onto Amika and I have not gone back since. I know some people prefer fregnance-free products, but I’m a sucker for great scents and amika stuff smells great.

I have a lot of amika products and really enjoy them. My hair smells and feels great.

Amika! Love the look, love the label & all the fun colors, love the product! This hairspray works! It's not heavy or sticky like some brands - not to mention it also smells amazing! Defiantly worth giving it a try!

I love Amika products. I have the heat protectant and it smells amazing and makes my hair so soft! A little goes a long way with this product and the smell lingers in your hair. I would recommend this to anyone.
