The ultimate dry shampoo. This was my first powder-based product and I don't think I'll ever go back. I'm impressed by how quickly it absorbs oil and the scent is very faint. Also, love the minimal yet chic packaging.
This brand finally got rid of my scalp eczema, and that alone is worst about 5000 stars. Further, this brand keeps my long, dense curls manageable (albeit NOT with their Curl + Wave line). I have found a superior detangler (hello LolaVie!), but almost everything else is highly effective. I have zero skin or scalp reaction to this brand, even with the added scent. The scent -- clean + petrichor + resin. It is absolutely beautiful. It did NOT trigger my migraines, asthma, or skin allergies, which is a huge deal for me. I usually have to go completely fragrance free. Both of the pre-treatments (the Scalp Detox and Scalp Exfoliator) -- are legitimate. I use Scalp Renew every 3rd or 4th washday, and Scalp Exfoliator every other time (when I'm not using the other). The Scalp Detox breaks down all the nasty buildup at your roots and generally helps to thin out the oily buildup that shampoo is usually responsible for tackling alone. It works VERY WELL. The Scalp Detox basically helps calm my scalp and neutralize any eczema or pH issues, which is why I only need it occasionally. I consider both essential. The original shampoo -- this is a gentle but very effective shampoo. With a double-wash (which I do for every shampoo, not just this one), I achieve consistent squeaky clean (literally) hair. I believe it is a good clarifier, especially in conjunction with the pre-treatments. I don't have hard water, so can't speak to it's efficacy in that scenario. The hair mask -- I use this as my main conditioner, and it does a good job without weighing down my curls. It also rinses out easily. My only complaint is that it takes longer than I'd like to detangle after using it, although that may be because of using an inadequate detangler (I just found LolaVie's detangler and expect this to no longer be an issue). Stem Cell Scalp Serum -- it's expensive AF and I feel guilty every time I buy it, BUT I've been using this ONLY on my scalp post wash and the allergic reactions, eczema, and itchiness ARE GONE. It's really quite soothing and (luckily) it doesn't take much to cover your whole scalp. It has a very mild, apple-like scent. I've been looking for a less expensive replacement brand, though. Cold-Processed Leave-In -- I'm not sure this does anything at all. I'm going to give away what I already purchased of this product now that I've found a non-irritating replacement. Argan Repair Oil -- this particular hair oil is nicely balanced and is especially effective on the length of my hair. I'll use it primarily when I'm nearing washday and my lengths begin to dry out a big. It effectively moisturizes my hair without making it greasy, and a little goes a long way. Fulvic Acid Dry Shampoo -- a big miss for me. It wasn't effective at all at the dispenser was a complete waste of time. It had to open it up and apply it to my scalp line with a makeup brush ... then it proceeded to not work AT ALL. The 3/4 of the Curl + Wave line -- a HUGE miss for me, even though I'm a curly girl. The Curl Shampoo was ineffective (especially when placed beside the hugely effective Original) and I had to wash my hair too often to rectify the problem. The Curl Conditioner did nothing for my hair at all. The Curl Spray is like ... tacky water? Not moisturizing at all and left a nasty residue on my hair that made it LESS managable. The only redeeming product from this line is the: Curl Lotion -- this is a good, lightweight defining cream. I detest defining creams as a rule, because I don't like the texture or manageability of my hair after using them. This is one of the better one's I've tried and it doesn't a moderate job of holding my style.
I really wanted to love this. I tried their cold processed curl cleanse and it made my hair crazy frizzy. After some practice I figured out how to get the product to lather enough to get it through my hair (rub it between your hands for a very long time) but ultimately I loved the idea of it more than the experience. Pros: smelled really good, scalp seemed happy Cons: so much frizz, very little lather, expensive
I’ve used the cold pressed hair cleanse, conditioner, scalp detox, and scalp renew for awhile now. The products smell really nice and I like the concept of more non-toxic products but I don’t know if I notice much difference in my hair from using the products.

I still can’t really figure out the difference between the scalp renew and detox and I hate their pump bottles. The stem of the pump always falls off in the bottle so you have to remove the lid to use all the product in the bottle. Because the opening of the bottle is so small half the time you can’t get the stem out to reattach it.
Ordered the hair oil, hair cleanse, and hair conditioner. Definitely high quality and very nice packaging, but I was sent the hair oil, two hair cleanses, and no conditioner. :/

Must be more attentive to packing orders with what was actually ordered.
I started using Act + Acre during covid - I have curly/wavy hair and in the past and it never looked good, so I would alwasy do Brazilian blowouts on my hair and would use a flat iron when it would start to get wavy. During covid, getting straightening treatments wasn't an option, so I tried this out. There was for sure a period where my hair felt weird and dry (like a month and a half) but after that, my curls actually started forming and looking pretty consistently for the first time since I was like 10 (I'm 31 now). I use and trust everything they have. the scalp detox was amazing for me during winter when I was in colorado for a month and my scalp was getting flaky. The scalp scrub is amazing when I have buildup - specifically, when I go surfing and my hair starts to matte on my head from the salt water - one was with the scalp scrub and my hair has volume again and is super soft. I've even used the stem cell serum when my hair started falling out from stress during covid and my hair started growing back within 6ish weeks (I started seeing baby hairs everywhere which was kind of funny at first)

- It's expensive, but not as expensive as $300 4x a year Brazilian blowouts. - the 1.5 months to get used to the shampoo/conditioner is not ideal, but for me, worth it - the packaging for the conditioner - I end up having to take the pump out and awkwardly pound it into my hand for the last 1/4th of the bottle
I recently purchased the shampoo & conditioner and am loving it. I'm typically about that unscented life, but the subtle (and wonderful) scent of the products does not bother me. My scalp is often irritated and feels better after just a few washes. The packaging was also on point and included a few extras. I'll be purchasing the refills when I run out!

I didn't realize that my hair products weren't working for me until I read about Act + Acre and thought "oh, there's something that can do that???" My scalp and hair is so much happier after using the scalp detox, cleanse, and conditioner for a year. They also have great content and education and I have a better understanding of my scalp/hair health.

More information on sustainability and using more sustainable packaging. I also went to the NYC brick and mortar a couple times during the posted business hours and it was just...closed. That was disappointing because I was really excited to go in person and I needed more products.
Huge fan of Act and Acre products. The packaging is really well thought out and the products themselves do what they say they do. My hair has gotten so much healthier since using their product. Would definitely recommend.

This brand has changed my hair and helped it grow to its full potential.

I bought the shampoo, as I've heard scalp benefits. It smells nice, but doesn't have a strong lather. Once I got used to this, it grew on me.

The bottle is a twist off cap - could be improved with either a nozzle (it's a more liquid shampoo) or other snap top to make the experience feel more seamless.
I was recommended this brand because of my already thinning hair. I got the shampoo and conditioner. I was hoping it would really do something for me, but unfortunately it didn't really make a difference. I used it for 1.5 years and I've decided to part ways with it. I'm open to trying the scalp treatment but other than that, I don't see myself revisiting the brand anytime soon.

The shampoo really lacks the lather where I feel like I'm giving my hair a good wash so I end up using more than I probably need.
Loved the brand. Worked well. Would use again.

Could be cheaper.
I liked the way the shampoo seemed to really detox the build up on my scalp. The conditioner was nothing special but got the job done. For the price I am not sure it was worth it AND the pump did not reach the end of the bottles so I had a hard time getting the last 1/4 out!

The Cold Processed Scalp Detox is innovative and worth the money. However, I found the Shampoo and Conditioner quality and bottling to not be worthwhile. The pumps that arrived didn't really function well. They screwed on a bit off-centered and just looked cheap. The pumps were also difficult to get all of the product out of the small containers. I ended up just having to remove the pump and keep the container upside down to make sure that could use up every last bit of product.

New bottle design. It would work so much nicer as a squeeze tube with a bottom opening.

Obsessed with this! It's so great for all different hair types - long curly and thin toddler hair and smells amazing.

This did not work for my hair. My hair has been very frizzy while using these products. I did not enjoy having to leave a shampoo in for a minute, as well as then leaving the conditioner in for 5 min. That’s a lot of waiting time in the shower.
Easy to use scalp treatment that felt nice and cool going on

Seems to neutralize scalp dandruff
Used the stem cell serum. It worked great, but goddsdamn it's expensive especially with shipping. Only reason I haven't purchased again
I purchased both the Cold Processed Scalp detox and the Cold Processed Scalp Renew Treatment to combat my itchy, dry scalp. I have used one or the other weekly for about 8 weeks now and I have seen a bit of improvement in my dry scalp. As far as a difference between the two, I would say that the Scalp Renew has been more helpful for the dry scalp/dandruff. I can tell its doing it job exfoliating my scalp and I have noticed that my hair doesn't get as oily and my scalp doesn't flake as much. I would say this is the stronger of the two products. The Scalp Detox has been good for removing build up and it feels soothing. Of the two, I will likely repurchase the Detox treatment since it's a good amount of product, will likely last me awhile and does get the job done. I likely won't repurchase the Renew treatment because it's a small 2oz package that does not feel like its a good value for the amount needed to get a good treatment. I believe there are other products that do just as good of a job and are much cheaper.
