Tony's Chocolonely

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

Tony's Chocolonely is really delicious - I've tried several of their flavors and they're all amazing. This is the chocolate I hide from my kids ... it's my personal indulgence.

The big bars are a real treat - but get a little weird if not properly stored. I use a ziplock bag, but would be great if the chocolate had better packaging.
The caramel chocolate bar is so good! It's the one I always grab when I'm at the store. The price point can be off putting, but if you know the story of the brand's ethics and how tasty it is, you'll understand!
OBSESSED! I've seen these bars every time I've gone into Whole Foods for the last few years and never picked one up until I saw they were on sale yesterday. I think I always thought they were expensive, but I after actually paying attention, they're only like $5 which isn't insane for high quality chocolate. I got the milk caramel sea salt and couldn't get myself to stop nibbling. I was expecting a layer of caramel but was pleasantly shocked to find that the caramel is literally the flavor of salt pieces at base of the bar. I won't be buying other brand but these moving forward! I wish they came in a smaller size for this flavor because I need help with self control.
The mission of this product is what makes it stand out for me. The chocolate is delicious and it is only made better knowing it is made with such a wonderful background. Would make a great gift!
Great chocolate. Really great to add to espresso martinis!

Love this chocolate! I really appreciate the mission behind the brand and something about the packaging just feels like they're not taking themselves too seriously, which I absolutely love. Feels wholesome, and also is delicious chocolate. No critiques here (-:

Recognizably chocolate but delightfully different flavors really set this brand apart. I'm not a chocolate snob by any means but can really taste the difference in quality here. Love the GIANT bars too-- makes a really fun gift

nothing!
Very sweet! This chocolate is for those with a social conscience, sure, but also for those with a super sweet tooth! Tony’s Chocolonely certainly adds vibrancy to the confectionary aisle with its playful packaging in eye searing colours. Their offering does tend to favour those who like things cavity-inducing sweet but what’s a little sugar, right? I am rather partial to the caramel sea salt and really enjoyed the popping candy in the white chocolate option- what can I say, I’m still a child at times.

Just different flavours, really.

I was skeptical of this brand at first because it's loud and the branding is pretty in your face. But after trying several, I'm a convert. It's fun! And the chocolate is rich and has that smooth, deep texture that makes you feel like you're biting into something indulgent and well-made. It's obviously still chocolate, though, so the danger is eating too much.
The chocolate is great, and the name is especially fun to say. I also appreciate that their slave free mission is at the core of their business practice, and what differentiates them from the more known and popular brands.
Delicious and good looking packaging! Not to mention, made me actually think about who makes the chocolate I purchase.
I adore Tony's Chocolonely. I lived in the Netherlands for a year, so it makes me nostalgic, but I also really appreciate the brand values and think the quality of the chocolate is stellar. My favorite flavors are the dark chocolate almond sea salt, white raspberry popper candy, and milk honey almond nougat.

The big bars are almost a little too big? I sometimes find it hard to easily break off the amount that I want.
Delicious and worth paying a bit of a premium for fair trade.
I can only speak to the taste as I know nothing about the company, but it's so much better than awful American chocolate. I'm always happy when my friends have it out.
As a chocolate lover, I enjoyed both the taste and texture of these bars. I particularly appreciate that the ingredients for this brand are ethically sourced, making me feel good about my purchase. However, the price point is high relative to that of comparable products.
I firmly believe that there is no better chocolate on the market. I have tried various flavors of this chocolate and have loved each and every one, including gingerbread that was around during Christmas.
As someone who enjoys sweets, I love the rich flavor of this chocolate. I also like the smooth texture and that there are many flavor varieties. While the price point is higher than that of many of its competitors, I appreciate that it is ethically sourced.
Tony's Chocolonely is a standout brand that combines exceptional taste with a strong, positive ethical mission. Their commitment to a slave-free chocolate industry makes every bite feel like you're doing something good, while the rich, varied flavors ensure that the chocolate is just as delicious as it is meaningful. If you love chocolate and want to support a brand making a real difference, Tony’s is a fantastic choice.
