Reviews mention

  • Engaging, charismatic instructors
  • Extensive, evolving class library
  • Sturdy, smooth ride hardware
  • Motivating, community-driven platform
  • Uncomfortable, rigid bike saddle
  • High, recurring membership fees
  • Occasional clunky software updates
  • Inconsistent hardware longevity

Peloton wins praise in reviews for motivating, studio-caliber classes, engaging instructors (Cody Rigsby, Alex Toussaint, Robin Arzón), seamless app breadth, and sturdy, smooth hardware that makes at‑home workouts convenient and habit‑forming; however, recurring membership costs are widely criticized, the bike seat comfort and occasional hardware maintenance issues recur, and some find the experience overrated or less effective than live classes. Overall, Peloton is good if you’ll use it consistently and value variety and community, but buyers should weigh subscription demands and ergonomics.

  • I have both a NordicTrack S22i and a Peloton Plus bike. They were similarly priced. One is in my summer house and the other in my regular home. I love them both dearly, but the workouts they provide are very different. Nordictrak's focus is on real life cycling tours throughout the world. They stick a camera on a bike and tour around, providing commentary along the way. I can do this easily on a conference call or while watching TV. My heartrate is elevated but I'm not out of breath. The Peloton takes all my attention. The trainers PUSH you. There is an active leaderboard that also pushes you. My heartrate gets very elevated and I'm out of breath. I leave that workout feeling like I got a real workout after 20/30 minutes. I need to be on the Nordictrak for an hour to feel that. That said, I love them both, just in different ways ;-)

The petals on Peloton require special shoes. I removed them and added cage petals so that I can use normal shoes. I would have preferred that it be an option - some people prefer the lock-in shoes, which is fine, but having the ability to select one or the other would be great and not a very costly fix.

  • I love my Peloton. I've had it for a year. The classes are varied and very motivating. I have a small place but it really doesn't take up much room. I really like the new boxing classes and I like that my friends and I can take the same classes.

It's expensive of course, but really it's worth it. Just keep the new classes coming. :)

  • My Peloton was delivered just before the Pandemic shutdown. I purchased it as a low impact alternative to running after my knees decided running wasn't making them happy any longer. Little did I know that my purchase was timely and gyms would be closing weeks later and "At Home" training was going to be the new normal. The Spin Programming was impressive and the quality of the bike is second to none. It was also nice to have the feel of being in a group class while still being safe at home. With new offerings to the programming such as Boot Camp, Strength Training and Yoga, now that the world is reopening, it gives a reason to stay home a get a great full body workout. While I still like the In Person gym experience, Peloton is my "go to" now.

    Expensive but worth it

  • Outstanding system and quality equipment. Love the Peloton bike and always look forward to my next workout.

  • Overall I think Peloton makes good bikes and exercise equipment, the quality is great and honestly it is the best spin bike I have used. What I am not as big of a fan of is the cost. While the bikes are excellent quality and worth every dime, it is not the end of the road. You then have to pay to subscribe to get the workouts, and so on. I am also not a huge fan of the workouts.

  • I love my Peloton cycling shoes. It’s nice to have a shoe that fits so well when I’m cycling on my Peloton. They’re very comfortable and cute. I use them every time I cycle and haven’t had any issues or blister just pure comfort.

  • Honestly, I can't afford a Peloton but a friend of mine has one and loves it. She bought it during the pandemic and still uses it every day so, for her and her family, the subscription is worth it.

  • I love my Peloton & the classes they have, I just wish that you could download the videos to watch without WIFI. I have inconsistent WIFI connection issues in my apartment so the classes bug out & I lose my mid-ride analytics. I've had my bike for a few years, & use it weekly.

  • Love the accessibility and ease of the bike. I think having a large selection of up-to-date classes is great.

  • Gotta love the Peloton! There's a good reason pretty much everyone knows about this brand. The classes are super fun, inclusive, great playlists, looks cool, and it's a great workout option!

  • Peloton offers an amazing at-home workout experience with top-notch instructors, a wide variety of classes, and a super motivating community. The bike is high quality, though the price and monthly subscription can add up. Still, it’s a great investment for fitness lovers looking for consistency and convenience.

  • I don’t own a peloton bike but I have used one multiples times at various hotels and while staying with family. I like the machine and have enjoyed both classes and free riding but I personally can’t justify the cost of the monthly membership plus the floor space that the machine takes up. I also find the seat incredibly uncomfortable.

  • I love how there are very fun instructors for cycling and dialing down options. It helps the time pass by and having an instructor led course helps encourage me to keep pushing through. The ride is nice and smooth which makes biking much easier and the gear is easy to use as well. Ergonomically the handles are great and the set up is nice. The bike seat is great too and not awkwardly uncomfortable.

  • I am a spin girlie (I also always come in last place, it’s truly just fun for me) so my husband bought me the Peloton and I ride it daily. It’s the perfect way to exercise and de-stress

  • In 2020 having a Peloton was a must. Finding it hard to justify the price for the subscription now that I can just go to a real class.

  • This review is for the bike, tread, and the service of the Peloton app. The bike was fun in the beginning, but kind of lost its luster for me. I shared using it with my partner and adjusting the seat and bars each time one of us wanted to use it for to be annoying. I also never got used to the seat and found it uncomfortable even with padded shorts. The tread I love! It was an easy process to order online and select delivery window. The classes range from walking to hiking to running to interval training and more. The screen is large and has great picture quality because some of the hikes are scenic routes through different countries. The auto incline and decline is fantastic to be hands free and the dial for adjusting speed is easy to use. I bought after factory fans from Amazon that are on each side of the tread for added air since I get hot and sweaty pretty quickly. Obviously with any Peloton equipment the app is an extra monthly cost, but I feel the content is always fresh with good music and trainers to pick from. I’ve had the bike for about 3 years and the tread for 6 months and don’t regret the purchases but they were different a splurge.

  • Don't have the bike, but I enjoyed the workout classes I've streamed! Just wish I had the money to use it consistently.

  • Honestly…a tough one for me. It’s a good, well made bike…but the fact that I have to pay more $$ every month for classes after dropping lots of $$ on the bike? Bummer.

More free classes included without subscription.

  • Who doesn't love the Peloton! I also tried their treadmill and it's super nice to walk/jog on. Very high quality, great design and very user friendly.
