Reviews mention

  • Creamy, blendable textures
  • Natural, skin-like finish
  • Elegant, minimalist packaging
  • Sensitive-skin friendly formulas
  • Short wear blush longevity
  • Subtle mascara and brow hold
  • Packaging breakage and access issues
  • Complexion stick emphasizes dryness

MERIT earns strong reviews as a minimalist brand that delivers natural, blendable color and a polished “no‑makeup makeup” finish—especially via the Minimalist Complexion Stick, Flush Balm blush, Shade Slick lip oils, and Clean Lash mascara—yet several reviews flag weak longevity, patchy or sheer payoff on some items, and packaging quirks like product breaking or hard‑to‑access components. Reviews of MERIT also cite creamy, skin-friendly formulas that don’t clog pores and flatter sensitive skin, while noting issues such as dryness on textured or very dry skin, limited shade nuances for some tones, and brow or mascara performance that’s too subtle for bolder looks.

  • I love so many of Merit's products. I use the blush daily and it doubles as a great lip color. The lip liners are so smooth (though they don't last very long). I also use the tinted sunscreen every day. I appreciate the high quality and beautiful packaging!

  • The concealer has featherlight yet confident coverage. This concealer melted into my PIE + PIH without clinging or caking—like literal silk on skin. A radiant everyday staple (just skip the silicone primer) because it sometimes causes pilling. t’s neither dewy nor flat: the finish is effortlessly natural, making it my go-to for everyday wear. I love that I can use it without setting it and still feel put together. Now, with the bronzer. This bronzer is glow in a jar. Its warm tones flatter my cool skin without looking muddy, and the sheer pigment melts in for that effortless, sunlit look. I love it dewy on bare skin or cream base—it’s soft, sculpted, and luminous. Powdering dims its magic, so if you’re not into a radiant finish, this won’t be your vibe. But if you crave that lit-from-within heat? It delivers.

  • These truly are some of the best blushes I have ever used. And the absolute best contour stick. I didn’t like the concealer but that doesn’t make it bad! I don’t know if I’ll ever use another crème blush or crème contour ever again.

  • I have really fair skin and most lipsticks look like way too much color on me. I love Merit for how sheer, balmy, and comfortable the formula is; they're easy to apply and give me the perfect sheer wash of color. Baby is my favorite shade, the perfect neutral rosy pink on me!

  • I love the packaging of the blush. It’s so easy to roll onto my cheeks, lids, nose and lips for a cohesive look. The pigment is medium-heavy, yet sheer for easy to build. I love that blends well with my foundation and sunscreen. I own fox and mood and use mood on the daily.

  • Love merit products. I appreciate the ability to keep my beauty routine minimal and I use the concealer stick, bronzer, and highlighter, and lip gloss. All of the products work so well and feel great on my skin -- they don't feel heavy or cakey, and they clean off easily with my face wash at the end of the day.

  • It was time to try a new brow pencil and I’ve been loving Merits for a few weeks now! Mascara stays on and I’m loving the tinted mineral sunscreen. It was a bit tricky to color match online but I got close!

  • As part of Thingtestibg, I ordered 4 products from Merit- the signature lip liner in coupe, lipstick in millenial, mascara, and the uniform tinted sunscreen. Based on what I know, I’m a huge fan of this brand. It’s considered a “clean” brand, which is nice but honestly doesn’t matter to me as much as if it works - which this brand does. Both the lip liner and the lipstick are a pretty, natural pink that are very easy to apply. The mascara is excellent - it lasted during an entire summer day without smudging/flaking, but wasn’t impossible to take off. And the sunscreen was easily applied with my fingers, with a nice light tint - if you prefer light coverage, this + some concealer is all you need. Highly recommend! It also came in a unique corduroy bag that I will definitely reuse!

  • I love merit products. They’re at a luxury price point, but the formulas and packaging match that. My favorites have been the lip oils, they have sheer and color options. They’re light, non sticky, and you don’t need a mirror to apply on the go!

  • I love everything coming from this brand! Highly recommended for a light coverage foundation. They have so many color options for the prefect tone match! Also love their limited holiday launches. The best!

  • I've been using Merit products for the past 7-8 months! I saw a lot of posts about the brand on socials and was sucked in by the minimal branding and beautiful packaging. The products arrived beautifully packed and I felt so elegant unboxing them. I have a darker complexion so I was hesitant to buy the Complexion Stick Foundation online but I trusted the online shade finder and to my delight found a perfect match!! The Complexion Stick Foundation has been an absolute game changer in my routine. If you're like me and ofter find little drips on foundation on your clothes please please please try a foundation stick. No more ruined clothes, it's soooo easy and fun to draw foundation on my skin with a stick. I find this foundation really easy to blend in with a brush and it gives me a really natural finish "your skin but better look". At the beginning I found the stick a little hard to use and found that it was really highlighting textures in my skin that I wasn't trying to highlight, I also felt it made me look quite shiny during the humid summer months. After a little trial and error I've found a good way to prime and set my face when i'm using the complexion stick. I've also received several compliments from friends saying my skin is "glowing" when I wear the foundation. I also purchased the Flush Balm (Persimmon) and Tinted Lip Oil (Cara Cara), I love the colours of both these products on my skin but I find neither product has much staying power which is a bummer. The blush is so fun to apply so I find myself coming back to it but I don't think i'll repurchase. I've just finished my Complexion Stick Foundation and have repurchase it. I also bought one for my mum! If you're someone that's looking for full coverage make-up this probably isn't the brand for you! If you like a more natural look with products that slightly enhance your skin - you'll likely vibe with Merit! p.s. the little make-up bag is such a nice touch! It's so easy to throw into any bag and makes me feel very chic!

  • Love the complexion stick. It really saves on the mess in my make up bag because I don't get powders everywhere... but also, it makes putting on my makeup soooo much faster. I wear the color Ecru and I've already restocked multiple times!

  • I love my complexion stick. I never wear foundation so when I added this stick to my routine, it made a big difference. I use it daily on my undereyes and to cover up any blemishes. I also tend to get a lot of redness on my cheeks and this help balance it out. I put it over heavily moisturized skin and it sits really well. Would recommend.

  • The quality of their products and packaging is lovely, the shade ranges are not the most brown-skin friendly and tend towards lighter than pictured online—I tried one of their deeper shade lipsticks (Signature Lip in Court) and it was much more light orange than brick red. Similar situation with their complexion stick—shade match was lighter and more yellow than what I needed. Their flush balms are my favorite product I tried, very lightweight coverage and the shades, while they range in how pigmented they are, are a good thing to have in a bag or travel kit.

  • If you are minimal and want the no make up look, then this is your brand. The owner truly made a 5 minute routine - I have almost the product line, one of everything really good. I love the blushes they blend so easily, the routine is easy, simple and minimal quality ingredients . Perfect for a minimalist !

  • Love everything about this brand. I use so many of their products from the skincare to the makeup and love all of them! Excellent quality and ingredients!

  • I don't wear a ton of makeup and don't tend to buy non-drugstore products (mostly because they feel wasted on me for not totally knowing what I'm doing!). Merit makes me reconsider that. I picked up the Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil in Taupe about two years ago as an impulse purchase right before I checked out, and immediately upon using it felt like an elevated version of myself. It's the perfect subtle warm terra cotta-y brown. Things I love about it: it doesn't feel sticky AT ALL; it's buildable; it goes on nicely over matte or less shiny lip products; and, perhaps most importantly for me, you can apply it without looking in the mirror! It's also pretty hydrating — as someone who usually carries Aquaphor with me at all times, I have occasionally left the house with just this lip oil and no backup. I wouldn't say it's the most long-lasting product out there, and I tend to reapply it quite often — but that might partly be because it's so easy to do that on the go. Usually I love finishing products because it's an excuse to switch it up and try something new, but when I lost this, I immediately repurchased it, and when I finished that, I went right back! I can't wait to try the rest of the line, but in the meantime, will definitely repurchase this.

  • Effortless, glowy, and wearable. My daughter and I both love Merit — every product just works. The liquid lipstick feels soft and natural, the SPF foundation gives that perfect skin-but-better finish, and the cream blush melts in like a dream. The highlighter is our favorite — subtle, dewy, and never glittery. It’s the kind of makeup that makes you look like you, just a little more polished.

  • I love the Merit mascara! I was looking for a clean mascara that would hold a curl in straight Asian eyelashes and also not lead to raccoon eyes from oily lids. The Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara is it! I don't typically wear anything on my skin besides sunscreen, but the Complexion Stick is really good for spot coverage (i.e., as a concealer). The Blending Brush is also useful to blend out the Complexion Stick when I wear it as a foundation, but I typically just use my fingers to blend because I'm lazy. Overall, Merit creates some great products, and I would definitely try some of their others in the future!

  • I’ve been using this brand for 2 years now, and I’m continually impressed by how reliable/long-lasting their products are. The quality truly matches the price, which can be rare these days... it feels luxe but affordable especially given their sustainability initiative. The Day glow balm is my absolute favorite, I have it in three colors. It gives such a natural, effortless glow!!!
