  • Perfect balance of garlic, heat, flavor
  • Convenient, quick meal preparation
  • Enhances any dish significantly

  • Serving sizes smaller than expected
  • High sodium level
  • Some products contain fish/anchovies

Homiah's products are highly praised for their flavorful and versatile spice kits, particularly the popular Chili Crisp and Malaysian Red Curry. The brand's strengths include its perfect balance of garlic, heat, and flavor; the convenience of its meal mixes; and the fact that its products can elevate any dish. However, some customers find the serving sizes smaller than expected and the sodium level high. There's also a concern about the cost, with some customers believing they could make similar sauces for less money.

Kits were delicious and quick to make. They were super easy to use and customize. I like that they came with recipes that had options for all types of veggies and proteins. Very nice that they are shelf stable and I was excited to try some dishes I’ve never made before. Great product!

I used to live in Southeast, so I was excited to stumble upon Homiah. The spice kits taste just like some of my favorite flavors in SE Asia that are hard to find in the States. I also like that each spice kit makes 2 meals, so it's pretty inexpensive for what you're getting. I also don't love to cook, so being able to add my favorite protein and vegetables made the process really simple and enjoyable. I also appreciate that each kit is vegan and gluten/soy free.

Feedback

My only negative feedback is due to personal preference. I love spicy food and the kits just didn't have the spice level that I like...but that is an easy fix!

Delicious spice kits! I would definitely buy again. My partner loved it so much he purchased some as gifts for his family. Pros: Unapologetic flavors that reflect Southeast Asia. Perfect spice level (for my spice tolerance -- probably a little spicy for someone not used to spicy food at all). The instructions were simple to follow and the packing is delightful! Cons: cannot think of any.

These are SO GOOD. I like a lot of flavor, and these packets absolutely pack the punch. They’re so versatile and make a flavorful weeknight dinner so east to make. I love that you can throw in any protein and veggies!

I got this in the most recent thing drop and I'm so glad I did. I made the Laksa last night and it was incredible. It was so simple to add the protein/ carb/ veggies I wanted and have a complete and delicious meal. I'm impressed with how easy the process was and this is an awesome way to introduce a new dish!

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing these are. Each dinner my husband and I made using these packets was unbelievably delicious. I feel like sauce jars/packets are such a miss sometimes, especially flavor-wise, but these were so perfect. I'm obsessed. I do wish they were a little more affordable, but honestly I would purchase at full price to have on hand and impress guests.

Made with seed oils as first ingredient. Didn't realize that. Sunflower oil is first ingredient listed. Wish it had olive oil or something healthier and not inflammatory instead. Whenever I make Asian food from scratch, I definitely don't use sunflower oil....

Use olive oil.

These spice mixes couldn't be easier to use. The packaging is beautiful and the end product tastes great! I liked the laksa especially.

I would love to be able to buy in slightly larger packages.

Loveeeee this product! I’ve only tried 1 of the packets so far but it was absolutely fantastic. Worth whatever it costs, don’t really care how much - it’s so easy to use, flavorful, and makes your food taste restaurant quality at home. I love easy meals like this, just adding some veggies and protein and call it an eve :)

Very convenient. I love the ingredients. The packaging is really nice also . Directions are fairly simple. I used a few and gifted the rest to my sister who is a curry lover. She's very excited to try them.

The spice kits are really well made, and they are not kidding when they say the kits have incredible fragrance. They really do smell amazing when you open the packets. Packaging is colorful and easy to use.

I did get amazing aromatics, the flavor wasn't as strong as the aroma. I may have used too much coconut milk or cooked too long, so I won't rule out operator error.

Very spicy. Comes with two packets. Check label as some contain fish or anchovies etc

I tried all three sauces from Homiah. I used shrimp and rice noodles in the Singaporean laksa soup, beef for the Indonesian rendang, and chicken thighs and potatoes for the Malaysian red curry. I have to say, the design and packaging are excellent. They are colorful and the graphics are very visually appealing. However, I found the sauces themselves to be just OK. As someone who has tried all three curries before, I thought they missed the mark on allowing the flavors to really distinguish themselves from one another. The packets are also small, especially for the price they retail at. I like the the ingredients are natural, but I still find myself wanting in regards to the flavor profiles and will probably stick to what I can easily find at my local Southeast Asian grocery store.

My Homiah package originally got stolen and they were nice enough to send me a new package with some extra goodies! Definitely amazing customer service and everything looked beautiful all packaged up.

I loved the convenience and high quality of the sauce packets. The instructions were accurate and the flavor was delicious, and most of the options aren’t meals that I have ingredients for at home so it was fun to try new things out.

I got this during the Thingdrop. Last night I made the Malaysian Red Curry, each packet includes two packets ( 4 servings ). Directions were clear and concise and gives you room for creativity in how you use the spice packet while staying authentic. I made both packets ( i love leftovers) with potatoes, carrots, and chicken, and I served it over rice with some homemade naan. It was so delicious. I felt like I had gotten it at a fancy restaurant and hadn't just poured a sauce packet over ingredients I already had in my pantry. It was so easy, flavorful, and such a good experience. I highly highly recommend people try this. Especially if you love trying new foods!

These spice packs make cooking a meal quick and easy! I usually shy away from cuisines that require a lot of spices I don't own, so this prepared mix has been perfect for me. I'm still learning how to cook meat alternatives (with hit or miss success haha) so these kits have been a lifesaver

I'd love a larger pack, or maybe a bottle/tube to dispense from? Sometimes I want a little more than 2 servings (1 pack), but don't have enough ingredients to make 4 servings.
