Ceremonia reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Luxurious, guava-forward fragrances
  • Effective curl-defining treatments
  • Soothing, nourishing scalp oil
  • Thoughtful, modern packaging
  • Heavy, residue-prone formulas
  • Insufficiently clarifying shampoos
  • Overpowering, smoky-leaning scent
  • Inconsistent performance on fine hair

Ceremonia earns largely positive reviews for delivering glossy, frizz-tamed results—especially for curly, thick, and wavy hair—through standouts like Aceite de Moska, Pequi Curl Activator, Guava Leave‑In, and Papaya Scalp Scrub. Reviews also flag drawbacks: many formulas feel heavy or leave residue on fine hair, some shampoos lack clarifying lift, and the guava-forward scents skew strong or smoky for sensitive noses.

  • Never really sure if these products have an impact on my hair. Still, I like the scalp oil that comes in a dropper bottle. I bought the travel size and will continue to use it until I finish the bottle.

  • The scalp oil and massager are super luxurious - feels so good on the scalp!

  • I've tried the weightless hydration shampoo and conditioner and wasn't totally blown away. I really like the packaging and scent, and the products worked as well as any other shampoo and conditioner on the market. I found it a bit harder to wash the products out and get that really clean feel, but I'll definitely keep using it and I'm interested in trying some of the other products like the beach wave spray!

  • I have tried the Guava Heat protectant spray. I find that their products have unique scents but the formulas are not anything ground breaking. Interested in trying other products in the range. Cute packaging

  • I tried the Guava Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner and have been loving it! It has a light, fresh scent and blends into my hair really easily. I have thick/wavy/curly hair, so it wasn't greasy and didn't weigh down my hair at all. After using it, my hair was super soft and continued to stay soft into the next day. I noticed that it does help with frizz as well! Love the quality of their ingredients. Will definitely be trying more of their products.

  • Packaging and overall aesthetic is on point. Smells amazing, just wasn’t for my fine hair. Left it feeling a little heavy, but to be fair it could also have been because my hair was used to less clean products. Would be open to giving it another try.

  • Purchased both the hair/scalp oil and the curl activator. I'm pretty minimalist when it comes to hair care. I do not want to have a 5 step post shower routine, I want to wash and apply a product or two and go. The curl activator was fine. I applied it right after the shower and it did what all of these creams basically do, it provided some definition and smoothness to my curls. It wasn't great or terrible, just fine. There was nothing in the results to distinguish it from a drug store brand. The scalp oil I wound up using for second and 3rd day hair to reduce frizz. I never really got into the habit or rubbing it on my scalp before a shower, but I do like using a dropperful on the long ends on days 2 or 3 or 4. I don't really notice a scent. I like supporting Latinx owned brands, and I did enjoy this but there were also no major results that separated this from anything else decent that I've tried.

  • Marketing and branding of this product is wonderful. Their product rollout strategy is also 100. Babba has been a wonderful voice for the LatinX community.

The products are far too fragrant for my taste – I would use them much more if they could scale that back.

  • I love my scalp scrubber, along with the guava leave-in conditioner. They both work great and the packaging is wonderful. A little bit goes a long way of the conditioner. Excited to try more products from this brand!

  • i love ceremonia!!! such quality products and i love that its latina owned. i particularly love their guava mask. my hair is so soft everytime i use it and i absolutely love the smell highly recommend !

  • I never have had a bad product from Ceremonia. They smell SOO good. I hope they make a perfume sometime as I can't get over all their delicious scents. They really make my hair feel its best that it has been.

  • If I could give Ceremonia 6 stars, I would! You've totally won me over — especially the hair mask. I’ve tried a bunch over the years, but this one actually makes my hair feel healthy and look shiny without weighing it down. Plus, it smells amazing in a natural, clean way (not overly perfumey). I have tried nearly the entire line of products and NOTHING has worked so well on my hair! Guava Rescue Hair Heat Protectant Spray is one of my fave products too and the smell.... SO good! I'm not a perfume girl but I keep the perfume de la tierra in my car at all times. Ceremonia... I LOVE YOU <3

  • I tried the guava leave in conditioner, and while I liked the smell, this didn't improve my hair texture or feel at all (I think it looked worse after using it). Maybe not for my hair type (straight/wavy, thick hair but thin texture)

  • The scent was a MAJOR turn off for me. Really wish I didn’t suffer from scent prone migraines. Would have loved to have supported the brand

  • Really enjoyable experience using these products because of the feel and the scents. Their scalp scrub is super nice and I love the silicone scalp brush they sell as well. The shampoo isn't the most clarifying but if you shampoo frequently it might be the right fit for you. Definitely a brand I will continue to repurchase longterm.

  • I love this brand! Every product I've used (aceite de moska, leave in conditioner, curl cream, etc.) is amazing. The smells are lovely. It is so great to have a brand that works well for my hair. The packaging is gorgeous and I love their social media. Would highly recommend!

  • I actually found Ceremonia on Thingtesting and decided to try their Scalp Duo (the oil and scalp masajeador). So far I'm very pleased with both products and recently got Beach Waves kit too and it gives great definition to my curls.

  • I really love Ceremonia. As a Latina, I’m proud to support a company that’s rooted in Latinx heritage and focused on clean hair care. Their mission to empower a confident, natural look is something I really connect with. Their products are all about hair wellness, feeding your hair from the roots up, and I can truly feel the difference. I use their scalp scrubber every time I shower and appreciate how sustainable they are, with natural ingredients and beautiful branding. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried, but my go-to products are the scalp oil, guava mist perfume, and dry shampoo. I usually shop through Sephora, but I just realized they offer better deals and bundles on their own website, so I’ll be checking that out next!

  • I love the curl activator! My curls are out of control (and not in a cute way), and this is the key to smooth curls!

  • I love ceremonia products, and they do EXACTLY what they claim to do. Their new guava leave-in hair conditioner smells heavenly and the scent lasts on my hair all day. I
