Ceremonia reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Luxurious, guava-forward fragrances
  • Effective curl-defining treatments
  • Soothing, nourishing scalp oil
  • Thoughtful, modern packaging
  • Heavy, residue-prone formulas
  • Insufficiently clarifying shampoos
  • Overpowering, smoky-leaning scent
  • Inconsistent performance on fine hair

Ceremonia earns largely positive reviews for delivering glossy, frizz-tamed results—especially for curly, thick, and wavy hair—through standouts like Aceite de Moska, Pequi Curl Activator, Guava Leave‑In, and Papaya Scalp Scrub. Reviews also flag drawbacks: many formulas feel heavy or leave residue on fine hair, some shampoos lack clarifying lift, and the guava-forward scents skew strong or smoky for sensitive noses.

  • It worked for awhile, but my hair stylist told me I really don't need a scalp oil because our scalp makes oils, and it's a way for more capitalism. I understand this is a cultural thing, but I just haven't had to use it. That being said, I did like the conditioner and the shampoo. I just don't use these anymore, but I'm sure they work for others. The products smell great, but might be not accessible for someone who is sensitive to scents.

  • Oh Ceremonia, how I love your scent! I've tried a few products and have repurchased the Pequi Curl Activator and does it work? I don't know. Does it make my hair look a little greasy after using it? Yes. But it smells so good I forgive it.

  • Can't get enough of Ceremonia's Perfume de la Tierra. It’s perfect for any season. I always get compliments on it!

  • The best scents in the world. I get stopped all the time and asked what perfume im wearing, but its always Cermonia. Its def not formulated for thin hair, even the thin hair shampoo left my hair greasy, but I love the scents so much that I just use less amounts of the other products so they dont get too heavy on my hair.

  • I recently tried about 9 products from ceremonia and almost every single one was amazing. Only two products didn’t work for my hair type but I imagine they will be great for people with thicker or curlier hair than me. Everything smells amazing and the products actually do what they say they do

  • really great branding and ethos - but I don't know how much the products actually do for my scalp. I love the smell and texture of the curl line, and the oil is really yummy smelling too.

  • The shampoo and conditioner are ok. The true star for me is the Aciete de Moska - I've been using for over two months and have noticed a difference in the strength, volume, and thickness of my new hair growth!

  • There’s nothing better than THE ceremonia scent. I can no longer live without their amazing leave-in conditioner and I don’t want to. As someone who never ever used leave-in, somehow they converted me and made me a believer. A little goes a long way, just one pump is all I need and my hair is a tiny bit past my shoulders. It doesn’t make my hair greasy and I can notice a difference when and when I don’t use it. (Got this product for free at an event but definitely purchasing once my bottle is done!)

  • Love the scalp oil- great leave in treatment (smells good and effective). Products are reasonably priced and customer service is quick to respond

  • The smells are amazing, and I truly see results when I use their Aceite de Moska.

Nothing! I can't wait to try their other products, when I have the chance to make a purchase.

  • I started using the curl cream 3 months ago and now use the whole line. As someone who has curly hair that can get a bit crazy, my hair has never looked better. It's affordable, smells great, and lightweight. I have told all my curly haired gals about it!

  • best new brand of 2021 in my opinion, for anyone with curly hair (or is the parent of girls with curly hair), these products have been a game changer, aceite to moska is awesome, the shampoo/condidtioners are great but the real hero product for us is the oil mist which can calm down a frizzy hair day and turn it into a nice volume-balanced one

  • Love the branding and the smell of the products but not sure it did much to my hair. I love their scalp massager.

  • The shampoo was perfectly for my curls! I should have listened to the hair quiz and skipped out on the conditioner, it was too heavy for my hair. Smells so good.

  • The oil mist con aloe vera is in my daily hair care routine, it adds a bit of shine and helps with fly aways while smelling amazing, and it's light enough to use every day (I have thick, curly hair). I also enjoy the aceite de moska on wash days along with some scalp massaging, and the guava leave in treatment to top it off. I've enjoyed all the products I've tried from this brand so far!

  • I really want to like this brand because it has an amazing mission and incredible branding, but I've tried the Guava Rescue Spray and the Guava Leave-In Conditioner and it doesn't really work as well as other brands I've tried such as Oribe or Olaplex. It smells great but leaves a weird crunchy feel in my hair. I would try the scalp oil and massager though!

  • their hair masks are the best for my thick hair and it smells so so good. also love the fact that its Latinx owned

  • love the guava rescue spray, use it all the time and almost finished the bottle! it has quite sweet smell but i got used to it. haven't gotten into the routine of using the aceita de moska hair oil but when i have used it, i haven't noticed much difference. overall nice design and am interested in trying their conditioner.

  • the pequi curl activator is from heaven. not a super expensive way to get some serious curl. also use their guava leave-in conditioner! all their products smell amaze. very big fan of Ceremonia!!!
