SmartSweets earns largely positive reviews as a lower‑sugar candy that satisfies cravings—standouts include Sweet Fish, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites, red twists, and gummy worms—while recurring complaints in reviews cite an extremely sticky, tooth‑clinging texture and occasional odd or stevia‑like aftertaste. Reviews also note inconsistent chew across flavors and batches, plus some GI sensitivity for a few users; if you want a healthier candy fix and can accept a different chew, SmartSweets is a compelling swap, but purists may prefer the originals.

  • Not a fan. The sweets are hard to chew, stick to your teeth, and the artificial sweetener within the product has an unpleasant aftertaste. Also, the price point is high for the small portion you receive.

  • I tried the watermelon ones recently. The taste is definitely not like the candy it's trying to emulate/imitate, but a little more sour/tart, less sweet. The texture is also VERY sticky and got stuck easily in my teeth. I think I would consider purchasing again or trying a different flavor or kind! But I would personally rather stick to regular candy and just consume in moderation

  • I'm a fan. As a healthy alternative to candy, I think they hit the nail pretty close to the head on taste. They provide the same satisfaction as eating regular gummy candy. My only complaints are 1. the price and 2. the size of the bag. Compared to a normal bag of gummy worms, I feel like each bag of Smart Sweets offers less candy pieces per bag. But nonetheless, I'd pick up a bag the next time I'm at Target.

  • Great products, but some of the products (more than others) have a sweetener taste and some of the products upset my stomach.

  • I really do like these but Im not yet convinced that eating a full bag is healthy... Yeah I know but when I reach for this and power through am i supposed to feel like Im doing better than if I wasnt? Y'know eating the normal crap. Needless, they are really good. I just need to be measured. Not their issue... Rather mine..

  • Kids like these a lot and they seem more "healthy" than regular sweets, but are they just building the habit of eating gummies and making it seem like it's an okay choice? Also quite expensive for what you get. Also, they seemed to generate gas! All in all, a nice alternative, but still best as an occasional treat rather than a lunch-box staple.

  • I've tried several different products and love them all! The texture on the gummy products (gummy bears and gummy worms) is amazing - so perfectly chewy! The nutritional content is great compared to similar products, it does feel like a healthier treat.

  • I have a low bar when it comes to candy, especially gummy candy, but this landed itself straight in the trash. I like the mission, but not the execution. It has a diet soda after taste that leaves you unsatisfied and needing to clean your mouth out. I’d rather go with blobs!

  • These little treats have saved me on multiple occasions while doing diets like keto. Although they do get stuck in your teeth pretty bad and they don't have your traditional "gummy" texture we are all used to, the product still kicks the sweet tooth well and they have so many options for anyone looking for a healthier alternative to a classic.

  • Love them, but I don’t love the price point for the portion. It hurts my heart. They taste SO good but if you’re sensitive to gummy candies getting stuck on your teeth, avoid these at all costs.

  • Smartsweets has revolutionized the candy game with its healthier alternatives. My favorite flavor is the Peach Rings—sweet, tangy, and incredibly satisfying. The texture is spot-on, offering that perfect chewiness you expect from a gummy treat without all the added sugar.

  • I bought this because the packaging looked really cute and I was craving sour gummies. The texture isn’t completely like a traditional gummy - it’s more soft and might stick to your teeth a little, so I keep them in the fridge. On the plus side, it doesn’t give me the same sugar crash as regular gummies. I do think it’s quite expensive for how much product is in a bag though.

  • I love Smart Sweets. So much variety and I think some flavors (sour watermelons and peach rings) taste better than the original they are making a healthier version of. I think the sour flavors are better than the non-sour flavors. However, if you are after something extremely flavorful and sour (like sour patch kids), these are not that! Very mild flavor and not super sour, which I prefer. I also love that they are a "healthier" sweet that I can eat without ruining my stomach like some other healthy sweets. These arent my go to candy, but if I want something I won't feel guilty about that tastes good, this is what I get!

  • They taste great! The issue is they’re still very high in carbs. They have high fiber and that’s good but maybe not so good if you eat the whole bag.

  • I keep trying these because I really want to like them even though I'm a bit disappointed every time. The texture is off from a normal gummy (they're slightly harder) and some of the flavors have a bit of an aftertaste that's hard to place but can be a bit off-putting. If you don't eat gummies often, you might be better off indulging once in awhile on the real thing, rather than trying to be "healthy" about it.

  • OKAY I have a bone to pick with SmartSweets. I first bought the candy when they launched and only had a few products. I am convinced that their recipe has changed since then. Upon launch, the texture was slightly chewier that a normal gummy, but not terrible noticeable. Now they are near impossible to peel out of your teeth. I'll get a pack every once and awhile if I need a sweet fix and there is nothing else.

  • Really good replacements for traditional candy. Some of them are a little chewier than the originals, but they're really tasty.

  • tasty enough, but not a true replacement to real candy. the taste and texture was a little off, but still good for the difference in sugar. I would probably rather just have a bag of real candy every now and then over snacking on these consistently.
