Reviews mention

  • Rapid soothing anti-inflammatory effect
  • Lightweight, non-stinging application
  • Versatile, multiuse skin healer
  • Visible acne and eczema improvement
  • Aggressive spray bottle ergonomics
  • Occasional chlorine-like scent
  • Potential drying on sensitive skin
  • Inconsistent results on blemishes

Magic Molecule earns largely positive reviews for actually calming inflammation and speeding visible healing on acne, eczema, rashes, bug bites, sunburns, and minor wounds, while feeling lightweight, non‑stinging, and easy to layer. Reviews also flag drawbacks: mixed results on blemishes and cuts for some, a strong spray that isn’t a fine mist, occasional pool‑like scent, drying or irritation for sensitive users, small bottles with evaporation and no refills, and comparisons to similar hypochlorous products that suggest parity rather than uniqueness.

  • Really love how this product can be used for so many skin issues - I've been testing this since they did a product launch in SoHo (just wanted to test the freebie) and can say it has helped heal + sooth my skin! After the initial product test, the small team behind the brand has given me their developed formulas, which I really appreciate since they welcome genuine feedback. A few applications I've used it for: contact dermatitis / skin rash, surface cuts / cuticle tears, mosquito bites / blisters, post-workout cleanse when I don't have time to shower immediately, general additional cleansing when needed (a light application pre-skincare when i have a breakout).

The ingredient list is simple and very straight forward - sodium chloride is a salt derivative, which is why it cleanses and I definitely appreciate that it's been packaged in a way where it's easy to toss into a few totes / suitcase / purses so it's more accessible.

  • While this looks great and has an instant sense of gratification (cooling and relieving) I'm not sure this really has any long term effect to heal my cuts etc. Because it's small though it is great to travel with, so it always comes along with me.

  • Absolute holy grail product! Eczema and redness completely healed :) I was excited to hear of the brand’s recent launch and have been spraying it very frequently since receiving my first two bottles a couple of weeks ago. I have fair/sensitive skin and when I learned about how safe this formula is, I was very quick to purchase. Magic Molecule does not disappoint!! Most of the eczema around my face and neck was gone after 36 hours. Can’t wait to continue using and see what else it can do.

  • Wow, wow, wow! I’ve known about hypochlorous acid and it’s many superpowers for years now but could never find a product on the shelf with FDA clearance. Call me crazy, but that’s super important for me. Magic Molecule is the only hocl product I’ve found that isn’t loaded with other ingredients that claim to work AND is FDA cleared. I already reordered another 2-pack 🤭

  • ive tried other hydrachrloric acid spays and this one is by far my favorite. I now keep one in my car and one at home I use it for acne prevention after working out and I just bought another one for my daughter to keep in her gym locker

  • I got this to help heal scabs and blisters after wearing uncomfortable shoes. It really helped relieve pain and irritations. I would say it also expedited the amount of time it took to recover. I think it’s a great product! A bit high of a price point for the quantity they give in the bottle. But definitely works!

  • Hypochlorous acid. is an amazing ingredient. Personally, hypochlourous sprays have helped me heal my acne-prone skin and get it to a much more comfortable state. I have also tried the Tower28 SOS spray and will say that the two products are quite comparable. Magic Molecule has great sales and a cute blue/white aesthetic. 🤍💙

  • Cute packaging, and I think it helps speed up healing time for wounds and blisters. However, calling it "magic" is a long shot. I'd recommend purchasing a bottle of hypochlorous acid (the same ingredient in Magic Molecule!) at your local drugstore for a fraction of the cost.

  • I had eczema nonstop for 7 months and adding this to my routine finally cured it. I would give this infinity stars if I could.

  • For some context, I've been using a benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin treatment for acne for 8-9 years now, but its efficacy basically halted on year 4 of use. I'm guessing that my skin became resistant to the topical antibiotic. So when I came across Magic Molecule (thank you, targeted Instagram ads), I figured I had nothing to lose and ordered it. Just one week later, my painful cystic acne and my previously bumpy texture reduced significantly. After 2-3 weeks, my skin texture was smooth with the occasional acne spot appearing, though not nearly as deep into my skin as they used to be.

  • Worked like magic, it took a couple of days to heal 100%. This is my go-to product for all things that need healing.

  • It really works! Sprayed it on some sores on my scalp that were not healing, and there was a marked uptick in the healing process. Odorless and colorless. Cute portable bottle, branding and package could be nicer looking - its a bit generic.

  • This stuff is amazing. I get regular nosebleeds and, after a long flight to/from Europe, was getting them basically daily for about two weeks (if not more). I substituted this stuff for my regular saline nasal spray and they completely went away that day - truly a miracle IMO. Have also used it on cuts, sunburns, and bug bites and it works wonders.

  • Glad to hear this works for others, but sad it did not for me! It *might* be too potent for my sensitive skin? My personal tip would be to emphasize frequency over quantity. At the time, I was targeting multiple spells of rosacea, acne, blepharitis/styes (i know, TMI), so maybe my case was a bit too intense to cure. They say you can spray as often as you want since it's rosacea/sensitive skin friendly. But I might've overdone it because it ended up drying out my face, caused breakouts, and I still had redness. (I used it as a toner in my daily face routine, and post-gym spritzing—about 3 applications a day, for 3 months). I've used other brands before, and couldn't tell if they worked. Tried MM since it's got the highest % of HOCl on the market. Later, I read that HOCl acid should be used in small quantities, and regularly for best results. So maybe it's too potent for me personally? Since then I have stopped using HOCL altogether and my skin balanced out again. 🤷‍♀️ I ended up giving it to my bf to use. May update my review if he likes it! Love the site design, and excellent packaging, btw!

  • I bought this when it first came out, so I've had a chance to use it for many applications. Issues it has helped with - Rashes caused by poison ivy/oak, contact dermatitis, irritation from chafing, sunburn, bug bites (bees, wasps, mosquito). Issues it has not helped with or worsened - skin dryness/eczyma, cuts and abrasions, acne. Overall it's a solid product, but you can get the store-brand equivalent without the gimmicky branding and for a much better price point.

  • I've now gone through 4 bottles of Magic Molecule so I feel pretty qualified to write a review. Overall, it's gentle and non-irritating and I think it generally works, but I'm not repurchasing because it is so pricey. At the core of it, it's a hypochlorous acid solution and there are so many others on the market that are less pricey for what is essentially the same product.

  • I suffer from itchy skin and the marketing for MM was clear that this was a revolutionary product. I can't decide if I was so eager for it to work or if it really worked on the first few uses, but after that, it fell short of everything. No healing, no relief. My daughter tried it for occasional break outs, no results. I wanted to believe in the magic, but unfortunately, it didn't happen for me - I've got two nearly full bottles!

  • I was skeptical but it works! Mild sunburn was functionally gone by the next day, as well as insect bites on another occasion - stopped itching immediately and the swelling was gone real quick. Haven't used for acne or anything but honestly I'm sure it helps. Definitely will be repurchasing.

  • this stuff works! I've been using it on acne and eczema on a daily basis over these past few months, and have seen major improvements. I really put it to the test in 2 cases recently: 1. I had a pretty deep wound on my finger and after cleaning and bandaging, I started spraying with Magic Molecule every day. It actually helped keep the wound clean without irritation (unlike alcohol would) and I feel like it healed up really well. 2. I patch-tested a very heavily fragranced skin cream and my entire neck broke out in an itchy rash. I sprayed Magic Molecule and my rash calmed down so quickly after 3 days of nonstop spraying. With each spray, it helped with the itching a lot. Now the rash is no longer itchy and the redness has decreased. I really want to try the hypochlorous acid from Tower28 and see how it compares. When looking at the ingredient lists, it's pretty much the same, but Magic Molecule is marketed more as a first-aid product, versus Tower28's marketing as a beauty product. I also like the packaging for Magic Molecule more. The spray is pretty powerful though, not a fine mist. An even mist, but definitely a strong projection.

I'm not sure if I would be repurchasing when the promo price is over and it becomes $25 for one bottle. The bottles are really small and I feel like they are very quickly affected by evaporation. I may look elsewhere if the price increases. I really wish they would sell refills, similar to Tower28! I have repurchased multiple times, so I really hope refills become an option in the future. I really appreciate the eco-friendly shipping for this product, but I wish that sentiment would apply to the product itself.
